A Pop of Color

It's time once again for a new challenge from the Cardz TV Challenge Go-to Galz. The new challenge is to make a project using black and white with a pop of yellow. This is what I came up with.

My card base is a 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" white card stock card base. I added a black mat cut at 5 3/8" X 5 3/8". Then my patterned paper cut at 5 1/4" X 5 1/4". Next I found a Hexagon shape in the Silhouette store and downloaded it. I used the offset feature in the software to create a shadow layer that I cut from white card stock. I then cut the yellow patterned paper. I attached the hexagon shape to my card base with some foam tape. These were cut at approximately 4 1/4". I cut my bee at 4" and it too is from the Silhouette store. To finish the bee, I used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching. I adhered him to my card front with an action wobble. My sentiment came from the Simply Said CardzTV stamp set. I stamped my sentiment on white card stock with some Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I cut notches at each end. I then adhered it to my yellow card stock which I cut about a 1/4" bigger than my white card stock and again, notched the ends. I adhered my sentiment with some foam tape on each end.

I hope you have found lots of inspiration over at Cardz TV and have decided to play along with us. Mary will be giving away one of her stamp sets, so hurry on over and get your project entered.

  4. Cute! Love the hexagon shape behind the bee. Makes it look like it's coming out of it's hive, fresh from making some honey.
