Let's Talk Turkey!

It's time once again for a new challenge over at CardzTV. The new challenge is "Thankful" to make a project for Thanksgiving. Here is what I came up with.

I found this cut in the Silhouette store and thought it was perfect for this challenge. The cut includes the banner that reads Eat Pie.

I started with a gold card stock base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I added the dark burnt orange mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and the orange mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5". That patterned paper mat is cut at 3 1/2" X 4 3/4" and is from a Doodlebug Autumn Paper pad. The green strip is from the same paper pad and cut at 3/4" X 4 3/4".

The turkey was cut at about 3 1/2" tall. I added googly eyes rather than using the eyes from the cut. I attached the turkey to the card with one layer of foam tape. For my Eat Pie banner I used one layer of foam tape at each end and two  layers in the middle.

My Let's talk Turkey sentiment is from the Thankful for You Cardztv Stamp Set. I embossed the sentiment with some Earthtone Paprika WOW Embossing powder.

Now if you want a chance to win one of Mary's great stamp sets, head on over to CardzTV and post your entry into the challenge. At the end of the challenge Mary will select a winner using Random.org. Hope to see you there!

The Best Things in Life are Friends

I have another birthday card for you today. I started with a 5" X 7" white card base. I added a pink mat cut to 4 3/4" X 6 3/4". My hot pink mat was cut at 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" . I embossed all but the lower 1 3/4" with the Anna Griffin Smitten Embossing Folder. My patterned paper is from the My Minds Eye Memoriable 6" X 6" paper pad and was cut at 4 1/2" X 5". The pink polka dot piece is the reverse of the paisley print. I then added a thin strip of the pink mat to cover where where the two patterned papers meet. I don't have sizes because these two pieces were scraps left after I trimmed the papers for the card.

My sentiment is on a white mat cut at 2" X 3" and stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The pink mat is cut at 2 1/4" X 3 1/4". I wrapped some bakers twine around the bottom of the sentiment and then tied a bow and adhered to the card with some foam tape. The Happy Birthday sentiment is also stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added some rhinestones to the card to finish it off.

Thanks for visiting.

Belated Birthday Card

I had to make a birthday card for a co-worker's birthday that we missed. I started with a wooden flower embellishment from Kaisercraft. I painted the flower using Sailboat Blue Paint Dabber. Once the flower was dry I embossed the flower with some Bodacious Blue WOW embossing glitter embossing powder. My card is a white card stock base cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I added a blue mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4". My patterned paper is from my stash. The floral paper was cut at 3 1/2" X 3 3/4". The striped piece was cut at 1 1/2" X 3 3/4". I took a strip of the blue paper and used a scallop punch to create a little border between the two different papers. I also added a strip of blue to the upper half of my card. I then attached my flower embellishment using a craft glue dot. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of white card stock using some Memento Danube Blue ink. I used the ink pad to ink around the edges of the white card stock. On the inside of the card, I added a strip of the floral paper and stamped the rest of my sentiment using the Danube Blue ink.

You Put a Spell on Me!

It is time for a new challenge over at CardzTV and the new challenge is to make a Halloween project. This one was a fun challenge!! This is what I made for you.

My card base is black card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I added a lime green mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then the patterned paper mat cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8". The patterned paper is from a DCWV Halloween Paper stack that I picked up a couple of years ago. This particular piece was embossed with a city roof scene with witches and bats flying across the sky. It was the motivation behind this card. I cut the paper so the tops of the roofs would show at the bottom of the card.

My witch image was cut from the Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge at 3 1/4". I cut the shadow layer out of purple, the base layer out of the lime green and top, moon layer out of orange. The witch layer was cut from a dark gray. I embossed some tiny bats on the moon with some Wow Black Glint embossing powder. I adhered the witch with some foam tape to the moon and then adhered the entire image to my card front with more foam tape. I stamped my sentiment with some Memento Tuxedo Black ink using the new CardzTV Trick or Treat stamp set.

Fight Like a Girl!

I am sure you are aware that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Cutter's Creek Design Team is encouraging all women to get their annual mammogram!!! So I have a Breast Cancer Awareness card for you today!
My card is a center panel step card, and is cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I used a white card stock base and some pink Core' dinations card stock. I embossed the small side pieces with the Juliet Damask Anna Griffin Embossing border folders and the center decorative piece with the main embossing folder. Kim, can order this folder for you. I cut the ribbon symbol with my Silhouette and using some Glue and Seal added some Spun Sugar Distress glitter. (Yes, this is a special order item, but please just ask)! I attached this to the card with some foam squares. My sentiments were stamped from the Jillian Vance Design stamps with some Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. I used two sentiments from the set. I just want to encourage all of you women out there to be sure you get your annual screenings. Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Cutters Creek Design Team Blog.

Maple Manor

I bought the Steampunk Graphic 45 paper pad from Cutter's Creek and just had to make a Haunted House. (Kim will special order for you) I purchased an SVG file from SVG Cuts called Maple Manor. The house was a lot of work, and took a lot of paper but it was so fun to make.

I used a Darice wood grain embossing folder for the black and gray siding. The gray siding was cut from some Core' denations card stock that I sanded to give it a distress looked. The black siding I
inked with some white ink to give it a distress ink. All the patterned paper panels are from the Steampunk paper pad. I used a ton of Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive to put this house together.

To embellish the house, I added some ghost stickers and a glow in the dark spider. I also added a pumpkin changing light to the inside of the house and a flickering battery operated tea light to the tower.

So you can get the full effect, I have this video for you. I sure hope you like the house, I had so much fun making it.
