Celebrate Spring

Spring has finally arrived and I decided to make a card to celebrate that fact. Here is what I have for you today.
My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a black mat cut at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8". The pink patterned paper is cut at 4" X 5 1/4". I then cut another black mat at 3 1/2" X 4 3/4". The smaller patterned paper piece is cut at 3 1/4" X 4 1/2". Both patterned papers come from the Olive Collection which is a Anna Griffin 6" X 6" Paper Pad that I got through Cutters Creek. I after adhere the larger mats together and the smaller mats together, I adhered the first two mats to my card base using my ATG gun. I then used some foam squares to pop up the smaller mats. I pulled out an old Cricut cartridge and cut my poppy from the Storybook Cartridge. I added some pearls to the middle of the flower and adhered it to my card front also with some foam squares. My sentiment is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. To finish the card I added 3 more pearls to the lower left hand corner and some white doodle dots to the flower that I added with my white gel pen.

This is a two day hop, today is the 3D hop an Sunday is the Anything Goes Card Blog Hop so grab your favorite beverage, sit back and relax, and get ready for some fun, inspiration, and the chance to win some blog candy too! If you came from Michelle's blog you are heading in the right direction. If you just dropped by please go to Mary's blog to start the hop and visit everyone's blog.

Here is what I made for you!

I found this 3D butterfly shadow box in the Silhouette store. I just thought it screamed spring and I loved the butterflies. It was actually fairly easy to put together. I followed the tutorial provided by the designer that I found here. I followed her instructions on how to enlarge the design and then cut and assembled based on the tutorial. I cut my large and small butterflies and the default size that came with the design and cut the middle size butterfly at 90% of the large size. I will admit on the two larger butterflies there are a lot of wholes to weed out and I couldn't get them all but I love how this turned out.

My sentiment is from the new CardzTV Stamp set Birds and Bees and says You're the wind beneath my wing! This set has some super cute sentiments on it and it is perfect for Spring and Summer!

Now what is a blog hop without some blog candy???? Well, my blog candy is two Memento Ink pads one in Tuxedo Black and the other in Rich Cocoa.

These are the two colors that Mary uses the most with her stamps, so why shouldn't you have a set as well? AND who knows, there just might a surprise or two in the blog candy package when it arrives at the winners house! So to be eligible for the blog candy please be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post with a way for me to get in touch with you when you win. Be sure you complete the entire hop and leave comments along the way. Mary will be giving away a set of CardzTV stamps so you don't want to miss out.

Baby Shower Gifts

Made these for my soon to be born grandson. I can't believe he is due in two weeks. All the onesies were done with Heat Transfer Vinyl.  The nightlight is a glass block. I sprayed it with some frosting spray. I filled the block with some white iridescent tulle and some clear lights. The image on the front was cut using my Silhouette and some black 651 vinyl.

GIrls Just Want to have Fun

We are well into the busy birthday months for me so today I have a birthday card for a co-worker. I started with a white card stock card base cut and scored to make a 5" x 6 1/2" card base. I added a light aqua mat cut at 4 7/8" X 6 3/8". I used a new Anna Griffin embossing folder called Eleanors Lace and embossed a piece of lavender card stock cut at 4 3/4" X 6 1/4" using my eBosser. Got to love my eBosser. I love not cranking and it just flows through smoothly. I then used a new die I also go as part of my package with the Anna Griffin embossing folders. It was cut out of a dark turquoise card stock from my stash. I adhered my mats together with some Scotch Adhesive Dot Roller Adhesive. Kim doesn't stock them in the store (hint, hint) but she can order them and the refills for you. Okay, so call me crazy, but I really wanted that die cut image popped up!  So Kool Tak 3D Clear Foam on a Roll to the rescue! I love this product and it is one of my favorite products I have bought from Cutters Creek!! The advantage to using the Kool Tak Clear Foam is that it is clear. I also love  the one on the roll so I can cut any size I need. It worked perfect to pop up my die cut. Finally, I cut a small square piece of what card stock and used a border punch on it. Then cut a lavender piece of card stock that embossed my sentiment with Wow! embossing powder. I used Port and Brandy from a limited edition set called Girls Nigh Out! Love this embossing powder. Want me to let you in on a little secret. I could not emboss with embossing powder if my life depended on it!! UNTIL I found the Wow! embossing powder.. So this too, is one of my favorite products I have ever purchased from Cutters Creek.  If you haven't tried you, you should order a few colors and give it a try. You won't regret it! So pop on over to Cutters Creek and get your supplies ordered and start crafting!!

3d Easter Wreath

It is that time once again for a new 3D challenge over at CardzTV. The challenge is to make a 3D project for Easter. Now I thought about an Easter basket, and an Easter box to hold some candy, but then I saw this wreath in the Silhouette store and just knew it was what I wanted to make!

I cut the wreath at the default size it came up on my mat. I cut four of the circle bases and adhered them together to make sure the base was sturdy enough. I cut the leaves flowers and used a wooden skewer to curl them to make them more natural looking. I then adhered the leaves to the wreath base.

Next I cut the base layers of the eggs out of white and the decorative layers out of the Core' de nations sand able paper. I embossed each of the different decorative layered colors with different embossing folders before sanding and adhering to my eggs. I then adhered the eggs to my wreath and then the flowers.

To finish the wreath I used my Tim Holtz tiny attacher to attach a loop of ribbon to the back of the wreath so I could hang it. Using a separate piece of ribbon I tied a bow closer to the wreath. Then I use the CardzTV Going in Circles stamp set to stamp Happy Easter on a bright yellow card stock and punched it out using my 1 1/4" punch. I put the sentiment into the center of an extra flower and added a pink button. Finally I tide a tiny bow out of a scrap of the blue ribbon and attached it to my button with a glue dot.

Now it is your turn. Make a 3D project for Easter and share it with us at CardzTV. Mary is giving away a set of her stamps so be sure to get your project link for your chance to win a set of her awesome stamps!!
