Valentine's Day Treat Box

I wanted to make my Mom a quick little Valentine's Day goodie, so I grabbed two different kinds of dark chocolate for her and whipped up this Take Out box to put it in. I used the Sweet Tooth Boxes Project cartridge to cut the box. I cut it at 10 1/4" as recommended in the handbook and it held both bags of candy . After I scored and folded it. I followed the directions in the handbook and glued it all together. I added some extra glue to the bottom of the box and the sides. Then I used my Crop-a-dile Big Bite to punch a 1/8" hole on each side and added an eyelet for my ribbon. To finish the box I cut the heart from the Sweethearts cartridge at 3" and stamped my sentiment. On the other side I cut the hearts from the Love Struck season cartridge at 3 1/2" and applied some Hero Arts Prisma Glitter to the pink layer.

The patterned paper I used is from a K & Company Valentine's Day paper pack I picked up last year. I am really pleased how this turned out and I know my mom will love it.

Find Joy Every Day Card

Here is a quick card I made using the Everyday Pop-Up Cricut Cartridge. I love this butterfly. I cut the base layer of the butter fly at 3 1/2" out of dark purple card stock and the top layer out of a bright lime green. I then used my Sakura Quickie G Glue pen and applied glue to the front of the green layer and then added some Hero Arts Prisma Glitter. I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock card base. I cut a 4" X 5 1/4" dark purple mat and then added my polka dot mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5". The polka dot paper is from a DCWV paper stack that I think I bought last year. I attached the body of the butterfly directly to the card and added one layer of foam tape just under the wings so they are slightly raised. Then I added two clear rhinestones to the end of the antennas. Finally I stamped my sentiment in some Crushed Concord Distress Ink. Thanks for visiting.

Cutters Creek Tuesday Tutorial Post

So the other night I couldn't sleep and got to thinking about how I have seen people make a marbleized looking paper with reinkers and photo paper. I got to wondering what I could come up with if I used the distress inks on photo paper, so I set out to find out. I started with several different Distress Inks. I used Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, and Seedless Preserves which was part of the Fall Limited Edition colors. I also used my Foam Ink Applicator. I randomly applied the ink to my photo paper. When I finished I spritzed it lightly with water and then went back over the entire area with the Spun Sugar to be sure there were no white spots and to light blend the colors together.

I then cut a mat from the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge (I believe Kim can special order this if you are interested) out of the photo paper and also from a dark burgandy scrap paper for the shadow. For my card base, I started with Kraft card stock I cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card stock base. I then cut a mat our of the same burgandy card stock 4" X 5 1/4" and then cut a mat from the Prima Botanical 6" X 6" paper pad. For the image on my card I used an image from the Morehead Decoupage Ecstasy Craft line. While the particular set I used is not available the Ecstasy Craft images are great to put together a quick card. Check out the dimension you get once you are done layering the image.

I really love how the photo paper turned out and it works great with my image and paper. What a great way to create custom back grounds for your images. I hope you will give it a try and tryout the Ecstasy Craft line.

Love is in the Air

I am so excited, Janis asked me to be guest designer for the new challenge at Paper Playtime. The theme is to use your Cricut and Hearts or Love. This is what I came up with.

I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to cut my card base at 5 1/2". I then cut a red mat and a patterned paper mat. The patterned paper is from a K & Company Valentine's Day paper stack from last year. Then using the Sweethearts cartridge, I cut all of the layers for the heart at 4". On my white card stock card base. I inked the card front with some Spun Sugar Distress Ink. I then used some Pearl Glimmer Mist on all my layers and then stamped the XOXO with some Memento Lady Bug ink. To finish the card I added some dark pink pearls to each corner of the card and the mat layer. I love how this turned out.

Scrappy Frogs Challenge

The new challenge at Scrappy Frogs is to make a project using die cuts. Here is what I came up with. I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock base. I added some heart patterned paper cut to 4" X 5 1/4". I then used my Tim Holtz On the Edge Doily Die to cut the back ground behind my little girl. I cut it out of red card stock and ran it through the Cuttlebug and used a Sizzix Three Dots embossing folder. I backed the die with some white paper at the top. I then cut my image from the A Child's Year Cricut cartridge. I cut the shadow in black and the main image in white. I cut this image at 3". I used a red Deco pen to add red to the two hearts and then stamped my sentiment in white ink. The sentiment is from the Cardz TV Be My Valentine stamp set. You're Special Card

I just recently got the Meow Cricut Lite Cartridge. It has some adorable images. I decided to start with the very first image on the cartridge this cat in a boot. I cut the cat and all its layers at 3 1/2". I rant the boot through the Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Tiny Mosaics folder. I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock base. I added a blue mat from the same card stock as the boot cut at 4" X 5 1/4". I used the Bubblegum Stripes cartridge and printed out a rectangle with the striped pattern and cut it down to 3 3/4" X 5". I then cut two smaller rectangles that I flooded with a solid orange and another flooded with the black multi colored circle patterned. I cut the orange rectangle down to 3 3/4" X 1 3/4" and the black patterned paper cut down to 3 3/4" X 1 1/2". I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch a bubble like border and adhered these to the card. I added some lime green ribbon to the top of these two pieces and added my cat image with some foam dots. Finally I stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added two blue buttons that I tied a piece orange floss in a knot. Thanks for visiting.

The CardzTV Design Team challenge this week was to make a card for a man. This is what I came up with.

I decided to make a tall card. My card base is 4" X 9" and is from Kraft card stock. I then used some paper from the Tim Holtz Kraft Core card stock from the Nostalgic Collection by Core'de nations. I cut the paper at 3 3/4" X 8 3/4" and ran the top 3/4 of the paper through the cuttlebug and embossed the paper with the Tim Holtz Clock & Steampunk Set and then lightly sanded it so the kraft stock showed through. I adhered the truck to the card with some foam tape. To finish the card I had some gray nail heads that I painted with some Sea Kelp green Glimmer Glaze and stamped my sentiment from the Pink Stampers Boy Crazy stamp set with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I have been wanting to use my Ribbon and Rosettes cartridge that I got for Christmas and finally had a chance to when I made this Valentine's Day Banner. I used the heart rosette and cut it at 3 1/2". I cut 6 sections and adhered them together with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. My patterned paper is from a K & Company Valentine's Day paper pack that I got two years ago and also from one from last year. I then cut the heart from the Sweethearts Cartridge at 4". I cut the shadow out of pink and the main layer out of white. I then spritz everything with some Tattered Rose Glimmer Mist. I also used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut a 3" circle that I adhered to the back of the Rosettes. I used Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive to attach the hearts to the front of my rosettes and the circles to the back of the rosettes.

For the top and bottom rosettes I cut the cupid from the Sweethearts cartridge at 3 1/2". I cut the shadow from black and the cupid from red. I then sprayed the cupid with the Tattered Rose and Black Cherry glimmer mist and the coated it lightly with the Pinata Glimmer Glaze that I just got from Cutters Creek. (It is beautiful). Finally I added some Thistle Stickles to the heart for added glitz.

For the middle rosette I cut the XOXO from the Tie the Knot cartridge at 1 /2". I used the same colors for the shadow and base layer and white for the layer on the first X. I sprayed these also with the Tattered Rose and Black Cherry glimmer mist and thistle stickles to the white layer of the X. I adhered all these cuts with some gel foam tape. Finally I adhered each rosette to a piece of cream colored ribbon also lightly sprayed with Tattered Rose glimmer mist. I used some Beacons 3 in 1 glue to adhere the rosettes to the ribbon. I also made a loop from a small piece of the ribbon and attached it to the top layer to hang the banner. I am really pleased how this turned out. I always have a hard time taking good photos of my banners but in person it is really shimmery. Thanks for visiting.

Kiss Me! Card

I just received a couple of new Valentine Stamp sets from Mary at CardzTV. When I saw the Kiss Me! stamp I knew I had to do a frog card. Here is what I came up with.

I started with a piece of Kraft card stock, cut, scored, and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" portrait card. I added a pink mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and the patterned paper cut at 3 3/4" X 5". The polka dotted patterned paper is from a K & Company Valentine paper pack I bought last year. The frog is from Create-a-Critter and is found on page 24. I cut the frog and all his layers at 3 1/2". I also cut the heart from the Create-a-Critter cartridge and it is found under the Accessories on page 36 of the handbook. I cut the heart at 4 1/2". Once I assembled the frog I adhered him to the front of my card with some foam tape. I added cotton candy stickles to his cheeks and red stickles to his heart. I also used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching around the card and the frogs tummy and some doodle dots on the frog. I stamped my sentiment with some Cottage Ivy Memento Ink and added a couple of red buttons. I also added the googly eyes that my friend Lynn sent me. I love the little eyelashes on the eyes. Makes the frog look a bit flirty don't you think? Thanks for visiting.

Hello Kitty Valentine's Day Card

So I heard that Cutters Creek was getting in more Action Wobbles and thought it would be fun to share I card I made this afternoon using an Action Wobble.

I started with a piece of what Bazzill Card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I added a hot pink mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then the patterned paper mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5". I cut the Hello Kitty Image at 4" and adhered it to my card front with an Action Wobbles. I added some Glam Pink Stickles to the heart. Finally I stamped my sentiment with the Festive Berries Distress Ink that was part of the Winter Limited Edition colors released in November. It is a great red.

Not sure what an Action Wobble is? Let me show you.

They have a little spring in them that allows movement on the object they are attached to. Here is a quick video (my first) of the action wobble in action. Aren't they fun.

The Cardz TV Design Team Challenge at Cardz TV is to make a project that uses Ribbons, Rhinestones, and/or Rick Rack. Here is what I came up with.

I started with a white card base cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a dark wine colored mat and then the patterned paper mat both of which are from an older Basic Grey 6" X 6" paper pad. I used the Lacey Labels cricut cartridge and cut the mat for my little bird at 3 1/2". My bird is the first bird in the handbook for the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge. I cut the little bird and it's layers at 3 1/4" I added some pink cheeks and a few doodle dots to the wings of the bird. I added a dark wine color ribbon and some mosaic tiles to the mat. Here is another card I made using the Birthday Bash cartridge. I have a white card stock base cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" I then added a bright green mat cut to 4" X 5 1/4" and then the patterned paper from a Basic Grey paper pad cut to 3 3/4" X 5". I cut the snail and his layers at 3 1/4". I added some white and black doodle dots to the snail and the envelope. I also finished it with some purple and glam pink stickles. Sending You Sunshine Card

Here is a quick card I made using the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge. For whatever reason I am having trouble with some of the layers on this cartridge. But I still think it turned out cute. My card base is white card stock cut and folded for a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. The yellow polka dotted paper is cut to 4" X 5 1/4" and is from Echo Park. I used an EK Success border punch on some white card stock and the reverse of the polka dot paper. The white paper was cut at 1 1/2" and the yellow patterned paper was cut at 1 1/4". The bird is cut at 3 3/4". I added some turquoise stickles to the birds wings and some star dust stickles to the little heart cut out on the envelope. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. This is headed to one of my Crafty Pen Pals. Hope it puts a smile on her face.

Double Dutch Fold Card

My Cutters Creek Design Team Tuesday Tutorial post for you today is a card I saw on Splitcoast Stampers called a Double Dutch Fold Card. Of course I had to give it a try.

This card fits in a standard A2 envelope. I started with a piece of Bazzill White card stock cut at 4 3/16" X 9" and scored at 5 1/2". I also cut a piece of the white card stock 2" x 8 1/2" scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8". I used my ATG Gun to adhere the the larger piece to the smaller piece centering it between the folds of the smaller piece. When finished the top folds down and the two smaller sides fold in like a gate fold card. I then cut a dark turquoise mat from Core' denations card stock. For the larger flap I cut the blue mat at 4" X 3 3/4". The smaller flaps I cut the blue ( think I didn't write it down sorry) at 2" X 1 7/8". The polka dotted patterned paper is from the Echo Park Paper Pad. The patterned paper was cut 1/4" smaller than the blue mat. I cut my cupcake from the Sweet Tooth Cricut cartridge at 3 1.2". I cut the heart out of red paper from my stash and then used some Magenta Stickles on the heart to give it some sparkle. Finally I add some faux stitching and doodle dots to the chocolate layer.

I sure hope you will give the card a try. It was a lot of fun to make something a little out of the ordinary. I made this card for a co-worker who has a birthday next week. I am also entering this card in the Simply Crafts challenge.

Scrappy Frogs Challenge

The challenge this month over at the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog is to make a project using lace. Here is what I came up with.

My card is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card base. I used a piece of pink patterned paper from the Victoria's Garden Echo Park paper pack. I inked the edges with some spun sugar distress ink. I used the Sophie cartridge for the two birds. I cut the bird image at 3". For the crowns on the birds I used some Glimmer Glaze. I added a piece of sheer lace with small roses on it under the birds along with some pearls. I also added a couple of pearls to the top of the roost the birds are on. Love You! Valentines Day Card.

Well for a lot of us the holiday decorations are put away and the kids have gone back to school. I had to go back to work today (bummer!) So it is time to start thinking about the next upcoming holiday, Valentines Day. It is also time to start using all those new crafting goodies you all got over the holidays. To help you out on both counts, I have this Valentines Day card to share with you all.

I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock base. I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then one more white mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5" and finally a patterned paper from the My Minds Eye Sunshine 6" X 6" Paper pad. I inked the edges of all the mat layers with some Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. For the image on my card, I used the Paper Trimmings cartridge (a circle exclusive sorry). I cut both layers at 3 1/2" and cut the bottom layer from white card stock and the open top layer from red card stock. Using the same cartridge I cut a circle at 2 1/2" out of black card stock. The Love sentiment is from the Tie the Knot cartridge (which I believe Cutters Creek customer service can special order for you, just ask) and cut at 2". Now to glitz up the card I a bit I sprayed the white background of the heart frame image and the Love with Pearl Glimmer Mist. Pearl is still one of my favorite colors and a great color for those just getting started with Glimmer Mist. It is a wonderful way to has simmer and shine and a glittery look to something without having to break out the glitter and glue. For my black circle I first spritz the black with some Slate Glimmer Mist. Then I used some Oil Slick Glimmer Glaze (this is a special order item again, just ask Customer Service at the Cutters Creek site for help). I am so pleased with the effect I got from the glaze on the circle. It really darkened the color and left the circle with this nice shiny glaze to it. I strongly urge you all to give the glaze a try sometime. Now for the red layer on the heart frame and the heart from the sentiment. To be honest I first spritzed both of them with some Rum Punch Glimmer Mist. While I loved the sparkle it was really just a tad to light and didn't give me the affect I was looking for. So what to do? I took out my Bordeaux Glimmer Glam (another special order item from Cutters Creek) and brush on a couple of coats of it on my two red pieces. Love the look and depth of color I got. One more fun way to add shimmer and shine to a project. I layered all the images together and after adding a piece of red ribbon for color to my card front adhered the heart frame image with some ASI Kool Tak Clear Foam Pads. To finish the card I added some red rhinestones from Want2Scrap and some smaller white pearls from my stash.

Hello Card

Here is a card I made using my Imagine, the Enjoy the Season's cartridge and the Sophie and Elegant Edges, Cricut cartridges.

I started with white card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I added a green mat cut to 4" X 5 1/4" and a patterned paper mat cut to 3 3/4" X 5". Both the green mat and the patterned paper mat are from the DCWV Linen Stack. I cut the rose from the Sophie cartridge. I flooded the base layer with a red color from the Enjoy the Season's cartridge and the top layer with a light green. I cut the flower at 3 1/2". I used some Stardust stickles on the green layer and allowed it to dry before adhering them together. The mat for my sentiment was cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge at 1 1/2". I lightly inked the edges with some Iced Spruce distress ink. The rose was added to the card front with some foam tape.

Find Joy in the Simple Things

Here is a card I made this afternoon to send to a friend who has been going through some trials in her life. I started with a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” white card stock base for my card. I added a pink mat cut to 4” X 5 1/4” and the added the patterned paper from a DCWV All About Girls mat stack cut to 3 3/4” X 5”. The mushroom is from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge. I cut the all the layers of the mushroom at 3 1/2”. I adhered everything flat to the card. For my sentiment mat I cut a piece of the pink paper at 1 1/2” and used an EK Success border punch to give it that open scalloped border. I then cut a piece of white card stock at 1 1/4”. Finally I stamped my sentiment with some Tea Dye distress ink and added the small buttons for a little more pop of color.

I think this will put a smile on my friends face, don’t you. I can’t help but smile when I look at the little mushroom. Thanks for visiting.

I sure hope everyone has been having a great holiday season. I had a little time to craft and put together this New Year’s card to send to a friend.

My card is 4 1/4” x 5 1/2” portrait card made from Smooth Bazzill Card stock. The solid colored paper is from my scrap bin. I cut a purple mat at 4” X 5 1/4” and the patterned paper is cut at 3 3/4” X 5” and is from the Echo Park Summer Days paper pad. Finally I cut a pink mat 1 1/2” X 3/3/4” and a purple mat at 1 1/4” X 3 1/2”. I used my ATG Gun to adhere the layers together. I cut the bird at 4” from the 3 Birds on Parade Cricut cartridge and adhered the layers and added some white stitching with my gel pen. This image has a cupcake it cuts out in the birds hand but I didn’t want the cupcake so I cut it off and did not cut the other cupcake layers. To finish off my card, I added some Want2Scrap Rhinestones to the birds eye and the four corners of the sentiment layer. I stamped the sentiment in some Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added the bird to the front of my card with some foam tape. I hope every had a great and prosperous new year!

A Child's Year Christmas

I had a bunch of Christmas Cards to finish up this weekend and had to keep them simple. I decided to use the A Child's Year Cricut cartridge for a few of the cards.

My cards are both 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I used white for my card base and my top layer. Both card images were cut at 3 1/2". I used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the white and red card. The paper on the green card is from Echo Park.

Not a Creature Was Stirring

When I got the Cardz TV stamp Home for the Christmas stamp set I knew how I wanted to use the Not a Creature was Stirring stamp.

I started with a 5" X 7" white card stock base. I added a dark blue patterned paper mat and a light blue snowflake patterned paper mat. The patterned paper is from a DCWV paper stack from last Christmas. I cut the mouse image from the Winter Frolic Cricut Cartridge at 3 1/2". The little mouse was attached to my card with some foam tape.

Holly Jolly Christmas

The current challenge over at Simply Crafts is to make a card using the Stocking cut from the Jolly Holidays Cricut Lite cartridge. Here is what I came up with.

My card is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I added a red and green and white mat. I cut the stocking and its layers at 4". I embossed the white mat with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. I left the lower 1 1/2" out of the un embossed so I had a placed to stamp my sentiment. To finish my card I added some ribbon and two felt gingerbread buttons and I added some stickles to the stocking to glam it up. I have been a card making machine this weekend and hope you will come back to so my other posts this week.

Merry Christmas Poinsetta Card

I made a card this afternoon with the Spellbinder Poinsettia Die. Love the die. I decided instead of doing a traditional red Poinsettia I wanted to do a white one inked lightly in pink. I started with a piece of white card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye and I opted to use both sides of the paper for my mats. I cut the green mat at 4" X 5 1/4" and the red poinsettia mat at 3 3/4" X 5". I cut and embossed the flower with my Cuttlebug and the No More Shims mat as well as the Cuttlebug mats. Before removing the cuts from the dies I lightly inked the embossed areas with some Spun Sugar distress ink. I also inked the flower tips once I removed them from the die. After allowing the ink to dry a bit a lightly sprayed the flower layers with some Tattered Rose glimmer mist. Sure made them sparkle. Once it was dry and adhered the flower layers together and added a yellow pearl for the center. I adhered the leaf to the flower and attached everything with some foam tape to my card base. I am not happy with how the sentiment came out. I decided to emboss the sentiment and used some Versamark to stamp the sentiment and some Satin Pearl Transparent embossing powder but it ended up a looking a bit gray but otherwise I love the card. the sentiment actually looks a bit better in the light in person.

Ho Ho Ho Garland

For my Cutters Creek Design Team Blog post, I have a garland or banner that I made to decorate my office at work. All of the colors and patterned paper were printing and cut on my Imagine using the Snow Angel Imagine Cartridge and the Mr Frosty Patterned Imagine Cartridge. The stocking is cut at 5" using the Simply Charmed Cartridge. This picture was taken with my cell phone at work hanging on my white board in my office.

Here is a close up of one of the stockings. I adhered all the layers with some Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. The letters were added with some ASI Kool Tac Clear Foam Pads. I cut the patches for the toe and heel of the stocking out of white card stock as well as the top cuff. I used my Xyron to add some adhesive to the top of each of these white pieces and then covered them with Ultra Fine White Flower Soft. Finally I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch a hole at the top of each stocking. I ran someDoodlebug Twine through the holes to hang my stockings. Below are close ups of the other stockings.

Jingle Bells

The current Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a project based on one of our favorite Christmas Carols using any colors and cartridges you like. The current challenge at Paper Cutz is Jingle All The Way, to make a project using a Jingle Bell image. So my card will be entered into both challenges.

I started with white card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” card base. I added a dark red mat, then a dark green mat then the patterned paper mat which is from My Minds Eye 12 Days of Christmas 6” X 6” paper pack.

My Jingle Bells image was cut at 3 1/2” from the Creative Memories Tis The Season Cricut Cartridge. I cut all the layers for the image. For the Jingle Bells I had a thin metal sheet here in brass so cut the bells with that. It is actually very thin and I used a pressure of 4 and blade depth of 4 and I think I could have backed off the pressure one more. Because the metal is so thin it was not possible to get the images off the mat without wrinkling them so the bells look a little worn but I love how they turned out. To finish the card I added some snowflake buttons and Christmas Red stickles to my letters to help the stand out. I adhere the whole image to my card front with some foam tape.

Christmas Wishes

I made a couple of quick Christmas cards using my Imagine and the Enjoy the Seasons and Snow Angel Imagine Cartridges.

This first card is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I started with a cream colored card stock base. I added a dark green polka dotted patterned paper mat and then the Kraft card stock with the snowflakes. I sprayed the cream colored card stock with some Old Lace Glimmer Mist. I sprayed the Kraft snowflake patterned paper with some pearl Glimmer Mist, and in person this card sparkles. My image is from the Enjoy the Seasons Imagine cartridge cut at 4" using the layers feature on the Imagine. I used foam tape between the layers for dimension and added added some red pearls to the branch. I also added a dark green stitched ribbon and tucked the branch bottom under the ribbon. Finally I stamped the image with some black ink and the sentiment is from the Cardz TV stamp set Home for Christmas.

My second card uses a Kraft card stock base also 4/14' X 5 1/2". I used the same green and Kraft patterned paper for my card.Then I cut one of the cut little snowman from the Snow Angel Imagine cartridge. I used a Sakura glue pen and some extra fine glitter on some of the snowflakes on the Kraft card stock. I used foam tape between the layers of the Imagine cut and used the Sakura glue pen and glitter along the snow under the little snowman. I added my sentiment and another Christmas card done.

Baby It's Cold Outside

The challenge this month over at scrappy frogs is to make a project that uses stitching in it. I decided to make a tall card, this card fits in a standard business envelope.

I started with a piece of Kraft card stock that I cut to 8" X 9" scored and folded it to make a 4" X 9" card base. I added a red card stock mat cut at 3 3/4" X 8 3/4" and some patterned paper cut to 3 1/2" X 8 1/2". I believe the patterned paper is from a DCWV paper stack I picked up last year. I cut the bird at 3" from the 3 Birds on Parade cartridge. I cut the sentiment at 1 1/2" from the same cartridge. I added some metallic blue faux stitching around the edge of the Kraft card base and the snowflake patterned paper. I also added some white faux to the red mat and to my little bird. Finally I had some white snowflake buttons that I sprayed with some glimmer mist and added some glimmer glaze to. I attached my cute little bird with an action wobble so he shivers when he moves. I add my sentiment with some foam tape and the buttons with some glue dots.

I am a little behind in my posting and have a few more projects completed or almost completed so I hope to get those photographed and posted soon. Happy crafting everyone.

Simple Christmas Ornaments by Deanna M

To help get your holiday decorating started, today I have for you some ornaments for your tree. I found these wooden ornaments at a local store and picked up several. I started by painting them, the tree and wreath I painted green and the candy cane I painted red. The gingerbread man I did not paint. I used my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the top of each ornament.

For the tree ornament, I covered it with some Flower Soft glue and generously covered it with some Pine Ultra Fine Flower Soft. I used some Gold Stickles on the star and then added a bunch of different sizes and colors of pearls to the tree for decorations. I added a piece of red and white striped twine to hang the tree and it was finished.

The wreath ornament was done similarly to the tree. However I used some Vintage Christmas Flower Soft on the wreath. I added some Candy Cane Stickles to the ribbon and finished it with some tiny red pearls that I applied in groups of three and again added the twine to hang the ornament from my tree.

First, if I had to do the candy cane again, I think I would paint it white instead of red. For the candy cane I used some Candy Cane stickles to the ribbon. I used the Christmas Red stickles to add some red stripes and used the Frosted Lace stickles for the white stripes. This was a hard one to get a good picture of because of all the sparkle. I added the twine to hang this ornament as well.

This little gingerbread man is probably my favorite. Instead of painting this guy I sprayed him with some Sugar Maple and Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist. He sure does sparkle. I then added some faux stitching with my gel pen. I stamped his face using the Snow Cuties Peachy Keen stamps. I added some little pink cheeks with a Copic marker. I gave him a little bow tie and used some black pearls as buttons.

Mini Gift Bag

I came across these cute little corrugated boxes that look like a small bag at my LSS today. So of course I had to get some. I also just recently got the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia Die and wanted to try it out. To start I cut a piece of cream pattern paper 3 1/2” X 12”. Then I cut the stripped glitter pattern paper 3” X 12” and adhered them together. My patterned paper is from Recollections. I then used some 1/4” Scor-Tape and ran a line all around the outside edges of my patterned paper and used that to adhere it to my box.

I then cut the poinsettia using my Cuttlebug. I inked the edges of the flower and the ribs with some Fired Brick Distress ink. I inked the edges of the leaf and its veins with the new Evergreen Bough Distress ink. I sprayed all the layers with some Twinkle Yellow Clear Glimmer Mist. I used some clear foam tape squares to adhere the layers of my flower together and to add the leaf. To finish my flower I added a yellow pearl for the center. I used more clear foam tape to adhere the flower to the front of the box. I am really pleased how it turned out and can think of several uses for these boxes, including put a gift card in them, filling them with chocolates, or even using it for a small silk flower arrangement. Snowman Ornament

I got home from work yesterday and my Snow Cuties stamp set was waiting for me in the mail from Cutters Creek. The faces are so cute and I found this ornament over the weekend and just had to dress it up. Using Stazon ink I stamped the face on each side of the snowman and added some pink cheeks with a Copic marker, added some ribbon for a scarf. I dressed the hat up with some Holly and Christmas Red stickles. When it dried I added a red rhinestone to the hat and some black nail heads for the buttons.

Let’s Talk Turkey

I recently heard about a new challenge blog at Simply Crafts. The current challenge is to make a project using the Turkey from the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge. This is what I came up with.

I saw a tutorial not long ago for a Criss Cross card and have been wanting to try one out. My paper is from a DCWV paper pack I bought last fall. My card base is Kraft card stock. The current challenge at the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog is to make a project using Kraft card stock. This is what I came up with.

I started with a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” Kraft card stock card base. I cut the Scarecrow from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge at 3”. I colored all the layers with patterns and colors from the Kate’s Kitchen Imagine cartridge and used my Imagine for all my cuts. I added some small buttons to his overalls. Then I cut the phrase from the same page in the handbook at 1 1/2”. I cut some leaves from the Doodlecharms cartridge at various sizes between .5” to .9”. I then used some glimmer mist and distress inks to give them some extra color and shine. I added some twine around the card and did some faux stitching using my white gel pen. I used pop dots to adhere the scarecrow and phrase to my card front. I hope you will join us in the challenge.

KAISERCRAFT Advent Calendar

I recently received a copy of one of the KAISERCRAFT Workshop Magazines that Kim at Cutters Creek has been including in some orders as she ships them out. I happened to get the one for September and new immediately I wanted to make the Advent Calendar that was in the magazine. Did you know that Cutters Creek, carries some of the KAISERCRAFT products and that she can special order most of the items that are included in the Workshop Magazines.

Now that you know how to get the products let me show you what I made.

The kit came with all of the pieces necessary to assemble the wooden box and the chipboard drawers and numbers. All I needed to supply was paint, paper, and embellishments.

To get started I painted all the wooden pieces of the calendar with some green acrylic paint I had on hand. The green was a little too bright for me so after it completely dried I sprayed all the wooden pieces with some Jingle Bells Glimmer Mist which gave me the look I wanted. (It is hard to see in the photos.) I then sprayed it with a sealer to protect the wooden sections. I painted all the pieces before cutting them apart. I used my Tim Holtz Scissors to cut the little sections apart and they worked wonderfully.

I had some help from my son in assembling the wooden part of the box. While he worked on putting that together I went to work on the little drawers. I used Scor-Tape to hold my drawers together and to help hold my paper when I covered the drawers. I used paper from the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium 8" X 8" paper pad to cover my boxes. I cut my paper in two sections. I cut a piece 1 5/8" X 6" and covered the back and sides of the box and wrapped it around the front to cover the two outer edges of the front. I then cut another piece 1 5/8" X 1 5/8" to cover the front. This gave me enough pieces of 5 boxes from each piece of 8" X 8" sheet of card stock. I had the hardest time with the little U shape on the front of the drawers. I tried measuring it and thought for sure a 1" round punch would work perfectly to punch the holes, nope, just a little too big. I think a 3/4" circle punch might work though. I ended up tracing the cutout on to the back of each piece of paper and hand cut them. Of course some of them ended up slightly off center but that is okay.

Using the Scor-Tape I adhered the paper to the boxes and placed them in the wooden slots. I then decided to run all the numbers through my Xyron upside down so I had the adhesive on the fronts and glitter them with some red and green glitter I had in my stash. I adhered them to the drawer fronts with some Scotch Quick Dry adhesive.

For the center of the calendar I found this piece of We Wish You A Merry Christmas paper in my stash. Sorry there was no name on in it and I don't remember where I got it. But I thought it went great with the calendar so cut a piece 8 3/4" X 8 3/4" and adhered it to the center of my calendar.

Of course while I was working on the project my new Cricut Imagine Santa Village cartridge arrived and I had to use it. I love the buildings in the cartridge and chose what I took for Santa's house. I cut the house at 5" using the layers feature on the Imagine and used the clear 3D foam pads to adhere all the layers together which gave the house some great dimension. To further jazz up the house I applied some Ultra Fine White Flower Soft to the snow on the ground and chimney of the house. Along the roof line I just sprinkled some clear glitter to add some sparkle. What is Christmas Countdown calendar without Santa himself making an appearance. I cut the Sleigh at 2 1/2" using the layers feature and also assembled it with the clear 3D pads. I again used my Ultra Fine White Flower Soft and Flower Soft Adhesive, and applied it to the trim on Santa's coat and hat as well as his beard.

Finally using the flip feature on my Imagine I cut the reindeer in layers and adhered it with the clear foam pads as well. I then cut a short piece of the Doodlebugs Twine from the Christmas Assortment, in a red/green/white pattern and adhered it to the the reindeer just under his harness and also just under Santa's hand so it looked like Santa was holding the reins to his sleigh as he took off for his one night of adventure.

Transform your Cricut Cuts

Today is my day to do a Tuesday Tutorial post for the Cutter's Creek Design Team Blog. I decided to show you how you can transform your simple die cuts. I got my inspiration from the trees I could see on the other side of my fence, aren't they beautiful? I decided to make a fall card with leaves and I wanted to incorporate the colors from the trees into my leaves. I started by cutting a leaf from the Straight From the Nest Cartridge at 6" out of white card stock.

Next I pulled out a bunch of my distress inks in fall colors. I chose Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, and Crushed Olive. Using my foam applicator I randomly applied some of the ink to my leaves.

To give my leaves a more realistic look I went into my backyard a picked a few leaves off of a small tree and using my No More Shims Embossing Mat and embossed my leaves using the veins and stems on the leaves from my backyard. Finally I spritzed everything with some Glimmer Mist. I used Rum Punch, Honey Dew Melon, Jingle Bells, Sun Kissed Peach, and Sugar Maple to layer on some additional color and some glimmer to the leaves.

I then pulled some ivory card stock from my stash to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. My mat and patterned paper are from the My Minds Eye Sunshine Paper Pad. I pop dotted the orange leaves to the card and the attached the yellow leaf to the orange ones. I added my sentiment stamped in Distress Walnut Stain ink. The little nail heads and ribbon are from my stash. I am really pleased at how realistic the leaves ended up looking and love how easy that embossing mat was to use to get this look.

Merry Christmas Card

Today I have for you a simple and quick Christmas card. I got the idea for this card from a magazine where I saw that they had stamped a simple Christmas tree shape on patterned paper. Of course I looked at that and said, I can recreate that with my Cricut and this is what I came up with. All of the patterned papers is from the My Minds Eye 12 Days of Christmas 6" X 6" paper pad which is two sided paper and I used both sides of the paper on my card. I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" cream colored card base. I cut a mat from some red paper, which is the reverse of the middle tree, from the paper pad at 4" X 5 1/4" and then cut a mat from the Merry Christmas paper at 3 3/4"X 5". My trees are cut at 3 1/4" using the base layer of the Christmas Tree on the Celebrate With Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge and the reverse of the two red mats. My small red mat is cut at 2 1/4" X 5" and I used a scalloped border punch on it. I then cut a blue patterned paper, which is the reverse of the Merry Christmas paper. This was cut at 1 3/4" X 5" and I used the same scalloped border punch on it. I added the trees with foam dots and finished them with some Golden Rod Stickles on the stars and I painted the tree trunks with some Cowboy Glimmer Glaze. This card is colorful and went together quickly so would be easy to produce multiples.

Masculine Birthday Card

My boss's birthday is on Thursday so decided I should make him a card and get it in the mail since I have not yet been released to go back to work. Masculine cards are always hard for me but this is what I came up with.

My card base is white card stock cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" and is a portrait card. I used my Imagine and the Best Friends cartridge to print out the cloud paper and cut it to 4" X 3 1/2". The green patterned paper is from my stash and is cut 4" X 2 1/2". The hot air balloon is from the Summer in Paris Cricut Mini Cartridge and is cut at 4". I used my Imagine to color the balloon's layers. Once cut and removed from the mat I sprayed the brown layer lightly with some Coffee Shop glimmer mist and the blue layer with some Dragonfly Glimmer Mist. This just helped enhanced my colors on each layer and covered a few white edges that showed on the blue layer. I adhered the two layers together and pop dotted it to the front of my card and stamped happy birthday in some brown chalk ink. Pretty quick and simple card but seems to work for a man's card. Something that Flies

The current challenge over at Scrappy Frogs is Something that Flies. This is what I came up with. I stated with a 4 1/4" X 11" piece of pink card stock and scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I added a white piece of card stock cut to 4" X 5 1/4" that I inked the edges in black. Next I stamped some the birds in the bird cage randomly on the paper to create some patterned paper. I cut an oval out of black card stock and also white. I did a third stamping to create the worded back ground and then added the bird in the bird cage. Spooky Banner

It has taken me a while but I was finally able to finish a Halloween banner this afternoon. It feels good to be crafting again but I have to pace myself and go a little slower than I want but it is what it is.

I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to cut the banner shapes at 6". I used the Happy Hauntings Cricut cartridge to cut the word spooky out of purple for the "p" I cut the spider web from the October 31 cartridge at 4" and the pumpkin at 2 1/2". I cut both ghost from the Happy Hauntings cartridge and pop dotted them the the lower corner of each "O" banner. You can't really see it but the "Y" has the spider from Lyrical Letters cut at 3" in black glitter paper. I also cut the spider web out of black glitter paper. I will try tomorrow if it is brighter to get a better picture for you. All of my paper is from the DCWV Ghosts and Goblins paper stack and Mat stack. Thanks for your patience with me as I have been recovering from surgery. I hope to be back to my old self soon.

Trick or Treat!

We are having a Halloween Challenger over at Paper Playtime. I decided to do something for you that wasn't a card. Here is what I came up with.

I got this wooden sign from Craft Warehouse on clearance for $2. I painted the edges with some black acrylic paint. I cut some Halloween paper to cover the sign and applied it with some Mod Podge. I did the same with the boots. They reminded me of witches boots. I added some orange ribbon around the top of the boots, and a little felt bat to each boot. For the bottom of the sign I added some black fringe trim I had leftover from Halloween last year. I cut Trick or Treat from the Mini Monsters cartridge at 2" and added some firefly stickles to the top layer for some bling. The sign was quick and easy to make and I thought was perfect to sit behind a little dish of candy. I hope you will play along with us at Paper Playtime.

Cutter's Creek Echo Park Blog Hop

Welcome to the Cutters Creek Design Team Echo Park Paper Blog Hop! If you just came from Lori's blog you are on the right track! If you just stopped by my blog, you can begin the hop at the CCDT blog here. Here is what I made for you today (Sorry this picture isn't better, I had trouble photographing the full project).

For my blog hop project I made a home decor project, a Happy Halloween sign. To make the sign I started with 3 pieces of chipboard cut to 5" X 7" and covered them with papers cut to size from the 12" X 12" Apothecary Collection Kit. You could easily size this down to a 6" X 6" square and use the 6" X 6" paper pack as well to make this. The next big decision was how to decorate them. For the top and middle layer I used cuts from the Happy Hauntings cartridge, for the bottom layer I used a cut from the Imagine Enjoy the Seasons cartridge and tons of ASI Kool Tak between all the layers of the cuts to provide dimension and depth to the project.

For my top panel I cut the word Spooky at 2" from white and black card stock from my stash. The background paper is of course Echo Park . I used the Graveyard cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge and cut it and all the layers at 4". I cut the headstone layer from some light gray paper and misted it with some Slate and Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Mist. I also sprayed the fence with some of the Slate Glimmer Mist. I layered everything with pop dots. For the grass layer I mixed some Ultra Fine Flower Soft in Sage and Pine and adhered it with the flower soft glue. The orange piece for the gate sign is part of the cut. However the Beware that cut just wasn't working for me so I grabbed this Haunted sticker from the paper kit. The small pendant banner is also from the Apothecary Collection Kit.

For my middle panel, I cut the Happy Halloween from the Happy Hauntings cartridge at 2". Both layers are cut from patterned paper from the Apothecary kit. I sprayed the bottom layer with the Slate Glimmer Mist and sprayed the orange layer with some Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Mist. My spider webs were cut from the October 31 mini cartridge at 3" from some Silver POW Glitter Paper. The spider goes with the witches hat on the Happy Hauntings cartridge and was cut from the Charcoal Pow Glitter Paper. Again, I pop dotted between the Happy Halloween layers as well as pop dotted it to my sign for lots of dimension. The black and white lace looking border is also a sticker from the paper kit.

For the bottom layer I printed the haunted house from the Cricut Imagine Enjoy the Season's cartridge using the layers function. I pop dotted all the layers for tons of dimension. I added the Sage and Pine Ultra Fine flower soft to the grassy area under the house and adhered it with the flower soft glue. Finally I bound the individual panels together with my Bind-it-All and some black Bind-it-All wires.

Life is Amazing Card

I have for you today an elegant looking but very quick card I made using the new Victoria Gardens Echo Park paper and stickers from the 12 x 12 kit. These papers are beautiful and also come in a 6 x 6 Pad. To make my card I started with a white card base 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I then cut a mat from this gorgeous pink and white patterned paper that was in my kit. I added a pink ribbon and bow from my stash. Using the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge to cut the scalloped rectangle. I cut the base layer and shadow layer at 3 3/4". (Kim at Cutter's Creek can special order this cartridge for you, just ask). I just loved this framed sentiment and designed my card around it. The scalloped mats are cut from more patterned paper from the Victoria Gardens Echo Park kit. I adhered the scalloped rectangle mat together and attached it to my card using foam tape. Last I added the framed sentiment and some pearls in each of the scallops. I am so pleased how this turned out. In case you can't read it, the sentiment says, When you stop and look around, this life is pretty amazing. Happy 21st Birthday

The challenge this week over at Paper Playtime is to make an easel card. Since my son was turning 21 (last week, can't believe he is 21 already!) I decided to make his birthday card an easel card. This is what I came up with.

I started with a piece of tan colored card stock cut to 4 1/4" X 11". I then scored this card stock at 2 1/4" and 5 1/2". My mug is cut from the Everyday Pop Up Cricut cartridge at 5". I used my Imagine and the Hopscotch color cartridge for the colors on the mug. I cut all the layers and adhered them together after inking everything lightly with some Wild Honey distress ink. I added some Rock Candy stickles to the foam at the top of the mug and covered the entire mug with Glossy Accents so it gave the appearance of glass. Cheers is also cut from the Everyday Pop Up Cartridge and was cut at 1 1/2". I again used the Hopscotch cartridge and flood filled the shadow layer with a dark blue from the cartidge and the top layer with a pattern. I attached Cheers with pop dots to the inside of my card. Finally I cut a circle from Birthday Bash at 2" and stamped my sentiment in dark blue ink. I threaded some twine through the tag and tied it to the handle of the much and attached the the tag to the front of the mug with a glue dot. He loved the card and had a great birthday!

Vintage Card

The challenge this week at the Scrappy Frogs is to make a vintage card. This was a tough one for me, I don't make many vintage style cards. I came across this paper at my LSS and knew it would be perfect for the challenge. The paper is by Cosmo Cricket.

My card base is what card stock scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I cut a mat from the polka dot paper 4" X 5 1/4" and the flowered paper was cut at 3 3/4" X 5". and then added another strip of the polka dot paper (sorry I can't remember the size). The lace is actually a white lace that I sprayed with some Santa Baby and Old Lace glimmer mist. Finally I cut a stripped mat to fit my image and adhered everything to the front of my card. The image of the girl is pop dotted to the card front. I inked the edges of everything with tea dye distress ink. To finish off the card I added a red button to the top corner. Thanks for visiting.

Patchwork Kitty

So for Tutorial Tuesday I wanted to give you an idea on how to use some of those scraps building up in your scrap bin. If you are like me, you hate to recycle a piece of paper that you just might be able to use on another project. Here is what I have for you.

To make my patchwork kitty, I started with a 4" X 6" piece of regular bond, printer paper and ran it through my Xyron. You could also use a large adhesive label but I didn't have any so had to improvise and it worked beautifully. I then cut 2" X 2" squares from some of my scrap paper. My paper for this project is from several Echo Park Paper Pads.

I then randomly picked up my squares and attached them to my paper using the adhesive applied by the Xyron. Here is how it looked.

I then selected my imagine which was the Kitty from Create-a-Critter. I cut the base layer out of black card stock (another scrap) and then the top layer from my patchwork paper I made. I grabbed a scrap of pink for the bow and the kitty's nose. My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock. The yellow and purple paper are from the Echo Park Summer Days Paper Pad. I used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching around the outside of the card as well as to "stitch" all the seams and along the outside of the kitty. I added some black nail head embellishments from my stash for her eyes and a silver rhinestone from the new Want2 Scrap embellishments, to the kitty's bow. I used some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp my Hello. I attached my kitty to my card front with an Action Wobble I hope I have inspired you to trying something new with those scraps. Wish Upon a Star Challenge

The challenge this week at Paper Cutz Challenge Blog is to make a card using stars and any colors or theme we wanted. I decided to play along and this is what I came up with. I used some white card stock for my card base and scored and folded it to a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I then cut a black mat 4" X 5 1/4" and another white mat 3 3/4" X 5. This second white mat I spritzed with Tatter Rose and Pearls glimmer mist to add some sparkle and shine and just a hint of color. I used the Rock Princess cartridge and cut my stars at 3 1/4". I used the POW! Glitter Card Stock for the layers of my card and black for the base layer. I adhered the stars to my card front with some foam squares. My sentiment is from The Greeting Farm and went perfect with the card. I added some bright pink rhinestones to each end of the sentiment. I am happy how this turned out. Thanks for visiting.

It's a Jungle Out There!

The challenge this week over at Cricut Cardz Challenge Blog is to make a child's birthday card using something you might see in the jungle. I decided to go with the elephant from the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge.

My card base is a 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" Kraft card stock that I scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I used my corner rounder and rounded the two lower corners. I added some aqua and white striped twine. I cut my elephant and all his layers at 3". The polka dot paper is from Echo Park. The other colors are were printed on my Imagine from the Best Friends cartridge. I put some small pieces of foam tape behind his ear so his ear would stand up a little. I also attached the elephant to the card with foam tape. I added some white doodles along the edges of the card and stamped Happy Birthday in Walnut Stain Distress ink. Thanks for visiting.

Celebrate the Season

So I strayed away from our Flower Soft theme this post but I have been wanting to make a card with this wonderful POW! Glitter Paper so I opted to do a Christmas card. It is never too early to get started on those cards.

I started with a 5" X 10" piece of white card stock scored and folded to make a 5" X 5" square card. I used my Scor Pal to score lines in my card front at 1/2" and 1/4". Next I cut another piece of white card stock 3 3/4" X 3 3/4" and liberally sprayed it with some of my Dazziling Diamonds Glimmer Mist and let it dry. I then embossed this square with my Snowflake Embossing Folder and my Cuttlebug and adhered it to my card. I then used two colors of the Pacific and Silver POW Glitter Paper. This paper cuts beautifully with my Cricut. I cut my snowflake using the Winter Lace Mini Cricut Cartridge at 3 1/2". I added the snowflake to my card front with some foam tape and stamped my sentiment. I wish the photo showed off the sparkle of this paper better. If you haven't tried this glitter paper I urge you to give it a try.

The challenge this week over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge Blog is to make a thank you card using a heart but to not use red or pink. This is what I came up with. I decided to turn my hearts into a flower. I cut 4 hearts from the George and Basic Shape cartridge at 1 1/2". My patterned paper is from my stash. I also cut a 1" circle to adhere my hearts to. My card base is white card stock scored and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I cut an orange mat 4" X 5 1/4" and another coordinating patterned paper mat cut to 3 3/4" X 5. I adhered my hearts to the circle and added a teal blue button to the middle of the flower. I then stamped Thanks in a dark brown in. Thanks for visiting.

Hang In There Card

This week my Cutters Creek Design Team post is for Tuesday Tutorial using Flower Soft. The tutorial I have for you today uses the Ultra Fine Flower Soft as flocking. I love the dimension and texture it gives to my Cricut cuts. I started with the monkey from the Create-a-Critter cartridge and cut him at 3". I used my Imagine to color each layer (love that!). The base layer was cut with black. The next I colored to match as close to the flower soft I chose to use.

Next I ran my layers I wanted to flock upside down in my Xyron so the adhesive was on the front of my image.

I used Sand Ultra Fine Flower Soft for the main layer of my image, and Toffee Ultra Fine Flower Soft for the outer outline layer to flock the monkey. I liberally covered my image with the flower soft and patted it down to be sure I had a good covering and then tapped off the excess.

I did the same with the other layer. Here is what they look like now that each layer is flocked.

Once I adhered my layers together with some Flower Soft Adhesive. I put my card together. My card is a standard 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. My base is white card stock. I then added a blue mat cut to 4" X 5 1/4" and cut my patterned paper from my scrap bin to 3 3/4" X 5". I used my ATG Gun to adhered the layers together.

The vine was cut at 3" as well and colored using my Imagine. For the mat for my sentiment I used the Elegant Edges cartridge (which Kim can special order for you just ask). I colored the shadow layer with a blue color and left the top layer uncolored as I wanted it white. The mat was cut at 2". My sentiment is from the Wild Card cartridge and was colored with the same blue as my shadow layer and was cut at 4".

I just love the velvety texture I get by using the Ultra Fine Flower Soft as flocking. The Ultra Fine Flower Soft can be used to add texture and dimension to any of your projects. I hope you give it a try.

The challenge over at Paper Playtime is to make a project that shows how you would cool off with water. This is what I came up with. I recently got the Enjoy the Season's Imagine Cricut Cartridge and while trying to decide what to make for this project saw this image in the handbook. It was perfect.

My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock. My patterned paper is by Echo Park. I cut the cloud paper 3" X 5 1/2" and the green paper 1 1/2" X 5 1/2". I used the layered feature on my Imagine and cut the girl in the pull image at 3". I also cut the sun image from the same cartridge at 1 1/4". Spooky Card

The challenge this week over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a holiday card using any colors and cartridges of our choosing. So I decided to make a Halloween card. The witch image is from the Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge. I cut the image and layers at 3" and used my Imagine and the stock colors to color each layer. My card base is white card stock cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" I added a black mat cut to 4" X 5 1/4" an orange mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5 and a purple mat cut at 3 1/2" X 4 3/4". I sprayed the orange moon with some sunkissed peach glimmer mist spray. I love how it turned out a little mottled like there are thin clouds floating in front of it. I pop dotted the witch to the front of the card and added some buttons I had left over from last Halloween. The patterned orange and purple paper was also in my scrap bin. It was a quick easy card to put together but a lot of fun. Thanks for visiting.

Gingerbread House - Christmas in July

This month on the Design Team blog to help everyone start thinking about their holiday crafts we are featuring some Christmas in July project. My project today for you is this cute little treat box. A friend gave me the new Sweet Tooth Boxes project cartridge and when I saw this sweet house in the book I knew what I wanted to do.

I started with some kraft card stock and using the suggestion in the book cut my house and it's layers at 10". To make the house you have to cut 2 of the actual house. Because I wanted to dress mine up a little and add a Christmas Tree to the inside I used my Gypsy and hid the window on one side of the house so it wouldn't cut. I also hid the flowers and the flower boxes because I wasn't using them. I hope you can see the tree I added to the inside of the house. I cut the tree at 3.1" using my Imagine and the Snow Angel Cricut Imagine Cartridge. I used Scor-tape to assembly the house together. I added some clear acetate to the window of my house so it looked like glass. I cut the grass for the house out of white and ran it through my Cuttlebug and the D'Vine Swirls embossing folder. I then ran it upside down through my Xyron and covered it with some chunky glitter and adhered to to the sides of the house.

To dress up the outside of the house I added some Polar White Flower Soft along the roof line and edge. To the front of the house, I added a brad for a door knob and using the Snow Angel cartridge and the layers feature on my Imagine I cut two pots of poinsettias to place on each side of the door. I then used my Jolly Holidays Lite cartridge to cut a wreath that I attached to the door.

I added some Christmas Red Stickles for the berries on the wreath and also the ornaments on the tree. I used some Star Dust Stickles to some of the poinsettias to help them stand out and add a little more bling. The roof slides on to the top of the box and over those two solid pieces that act as a handle. It was a lot of fun making this and I am ready to fill it later this fall with some yummy goodies!

Masculine Birthday Card

My father-in-law's birthday is in a week and I have to get the card in the mail in the next couple of days. So I whipped up a card for him this afternoon. I started with a pre-scored white 5" x 7" card base. I added a black mat cut to 6 3/4" X 4 3/4". I then used my Imagine and the Bubblegum Striped pattern cartridge and the stock 5:7 rectangle to print out my patterned paper, and cut it to 6 1/2" X 4 1/2". I then used the Celebrate with Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge to cut the Happy Birthday at 3.1" For my shadow I chose to use white for the shadow. I used colors and patterns from the Bubblegum Striped Imagine cartridge for the other layers. I adhered it to the card with some foam tape and added some white buttons with glue dots to finish off the card. Hope he likes it. Thanks for visiting.

Celebrate Everything!

In honor of summer my project for you today is an ice cream cone card. I started with some Kraft card and made my card a portrait card by cutting my paper at 4 1/4" X 11 and scored it at 5 1/2". I then grabbed a couple of pieces of card stock from my Echo Park Paper Pad Summer Days. I cut the red mat at 4" X 5 1/4" and the patterned paper with the ice cream cones at 3 3/4" X 5". I used my corner rounder to round the corners of all the layers and the card base. My cupcake is cut at 3" from the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. I used my Imagine to cut the image and the Bubblegum Stripes cartridge for the colors. For the shadow I used a black with tiny pink polka dots also from the Bubblegum Stripes cartridge. This cartridge is a special order cartridge from Cutter's Creek so if interested please be sure to contact Kim. I adhered my paper layers together and wrapped some yellow and white striped bakers twine around them and adhered the mats to my card with my ATG Gun (which I love by the way!!!) For my Ice Cream Cone I ran the cone part through my cuttlebug and embossed it with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder. I then used my Tea Dye Distress Ink to ink over the embossing to help it stand out. I layered my image and then added it to my card with some foam tape. To finish the card I added some iRock Hot Rocks Glitter Gems to add sprinkles to my cone. To the drip I added some Glossy Accents to give it some dimension and shine so it looks wet. Finally added my sentiment stamped in some brown ink.

Celebrate Sunshine

The challenge this week over at Paper Playtime is to make a Summer themed project. Here is what I came up with.

Nothing says summer to me then a good slice of local juicy watermelon. I love watermelon. So for my card, I of course used a slice of watermelon. The cut is from the Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge and was cut at 3". My card base is white card stock cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then a pink polka dot paper from the Echo Park 6" X 6" paper pack called Dots and Stripes. The polka dot paper is cut to 3 3/4" X 5". I then added a strip of black cut 2 1/4" x 5" and a piece of white card stock cut 1 3/4" X 5" and stamped my sentiment in Memento Black ink. I adhered the layers of watermelon together and added some pop dots to the back to attach it to the card. It was a quick simple card that could be used for several occasions. The challenge this week over at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog is to use summer flowers on your project. The design team came up with some great inspiration. This is what I came up with.

I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock card base. I added a purple mat cut to 4" X 5 1/4" and a floral patterned paper that reminded me of a summer field of wild flowers, cut to 3 3/4" X 5". I then added a 2" strip of green that I used an EK Success border punch on. Finally I used the Lacey Labels Cricut Lite cartridge and cut the shape for my sentiment at 3". I cut the shadow out of purple and the main layer out of white and pop dotted it to my card front. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The flower is a daisy I had in my stash. Hello Card

A friend of mine is having some complications with her pregnancy and is now home on bed rest. I made this card to send her to let her know I was thinking of her and wishing her well. My card is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white card stock. I used my Imagine, the Lori's Garden Imagine Cartridge and the stock images to print the patterned paper and the green strip of paper. For the patterned paper I used the 2:3 stock rectangle image and sized it to 4" which gave me a rectangle that was 4" x 6" that I cut down to 4 X 5 1/2". For the green strip I used the 1:2 stock rectangle image and sized it to 3". I cut it down to 2 1/4" X 5 1/2". I then used a Fiskar embossing border punch to punch the edge of of the green strip. I added a blue ribbon and knot bow to the bridge where the two papers meet. The butterfly is also from Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge. I print and cut the butterfly at 3" using the layers feature. Because I plan to mail this card I wanted to keep the dimension down so I just adhered the layers with my zig two-way glue pen. I did pop dot the butterfly to the card front. I added some pale green pearls to the butterfly's wings and some stardust stickles to the body and the middle of the wings. I used some Brillance Sky Blue ink to stamp my Hello on the outside of the card. The sentiment on the inside says" Sending you many happy thoughts." Thanks for visiting.

Freedom Banner

This month the Design Team is featuring some of their favorite Cutter's Creek products. I have decided to feature my favorite tools and the things I always reach for when crafting. The products I am featuring are Glimmer Mist, Distress Ink, Tim Holtz Non-stick Scissors, Tweezer Bee Tweezers, POW! Glitter Card stock, and Scor-Tape.

My project for you today is a Freedom Banner that I made in honor of the 4th of July. I cut my banner from the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge at 6". I cut my base from Red and Blue card stock and the top layer from some Americana paper. I inked the edges of all my cuts with some Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink to give it a vintage look. I adhered the two layers together with my ATG Gun. I then cut strips of patterned paper at 1 1/4" and scored it every 1/4" to make a Rosette. I used Scor-Tape to hold the Rosette's together.

Scor-tape is wonderful for boxes, and anything that needs a little extra strength adhesive. If you need a tutorial on how to make a Rosette, check out this post Laura did a while back. Once I had my Rosette's put together, I cut stars out at 3" from some gold starred patterend paper. To give it a little more vintage look and add some sparkle I sprayed the stars with Glimmer Mist,

I cut my letters out from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge at 3". I used more of the dark blue card stock for the shadow and some Marine POW! Glitter Paper. This paper cut perfectly with my Cricut. I used blade depth of 6 and pressure at max. I did not use Multi-cut. This paper is not has thick as the other American Craft Glitter Paper. Both of these glitter papers are gorgeous and cut wonderfully with the Cricut. The glitter on the paper does not come off like other glitter papers. I used my Tweezer Bee Tweezers to adhere the two layers of the letters together. I love these little tweezers. They really help me align and layer the smaller Cricut cuts. I highly recommend these.

Finally I adhered the letters to the stars with some foam tape. Here is another product I hgihly recommend and that is the Tim Holtz Non-stick Scissors. These scissors are non-stick and I love cutting my foam tape with them. No more sticky scissors.

I used some regular kitchen twine to to hang my banner on my fireplace. I thought the twine went with the vintage them. I am really pleased how this turned out and the glitter paper letters and just the right touch of sparkle and shine to the banner. Here are a couple of close up shots of the banner.

Sneak Peak

I know I haven't posted a project in a while. I apologize for that. I have been having major computer issues. I managed to spill water on my new laptop and killed it. Then the back up laptop decided out of the blue yesterday to quit charging. It works plugged in but I don't know for how long. So now I am using my husbands netbook and it drives me crazy. It is very slow. Anyway I wanted to give you a sneak peak at a project I worked on over the weekend. Be sure to check back on Thursday for the post on the complete project. Z-Fold Welcome Baby Card

The challenge this week at Paper Playtime is to make a Z-Fold card. I started with a piece of card stock 4 1/4" X 11" and scored and folded it at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". I then cut two pieces of patterned paper 2 1/2" X 5 1/4" and one piece cut at 4" X 5 1/4". I cut the baby carriage at 3" from the Everyday Popup Cricut cartridge and added some lace trim to the carriage and some pink brads to the wheels.

Here is a look at the inside of the card.

I cut the onesie at 2" also from the Everyday Popup Cartridge. I added a purple mat and white cardstock and stamped my sentiment that says good things come in small packages. To finish the card I tied a pink ribbon around the card and added a prima flower pink pearl in the center. I want to apologize for the poor pictures. I killed my new laptop by spilling water on it and the pictures were on there and on facebook. I had to download these from facebook. I hope you join in the challenge this week at Paper Playtime.

Happy Father's Day Card

The current challenge at the Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog is to make a project using the color Red. I decided to make a Father's Day Card. I started with a 8" X 9" cream card stock base that I scored and folded at 4" to create card that is 4" X 9". I added a brown mat cut at 3 3/4" X 8 3/4" . My patterned paper is from a DCWV stack and is cut at 3 1/2" X 8 1/2". I then cut a mat 2" X 8 1/2" and a cream mat cut at 1 3/4" X 8 1/2" I ran the cream piece through my cuttlebug and embossed it with the Tim Holtz texture fades embossing folder Steampunk. I adhered this cream mat to the brown mat and then to my card front just slightly lower then center. I cut my car from the Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge. I believe I cut the car at 2" cutting all the layers. I added some black nail heads to the center of the wheels and applied some Glossy Accents to the windshield of the card. Father’s Day Card

I made a Father’s Day card this afternoon without using my Cricut. I decided to challenge myself to do something a little different. I started with a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” Kraft card stock card base. I cut a blue mat 4” X 5 1/4” and the patterned paper which is from a DCWV paper stack I bought last summer was cut at 3 3/4” X 5”. I then cut another blue mat 3” X 4 1/4”. I used a stamp I had in my stash and stamped it with some brown ink on a piece of smooth white card stock cut at 2 3/4” X 4”. I colored the palm trees with a green colored pencil. I then stamped the image again on a piece of golden yellow patterned paper and cut out the hammock and glued that to the hammock on the image and added a little shadow underneath the hammock. I added a piece of ribbon and stamped Happy Father’s Day in brown ink and then added 3 lime green buttons that I attached with pop dots. It was a quick fun card to make. Thanks for visiting.

Just Because Card

I recently got the Kate’s ABC’s Cricut cartridge and knew immediately what I wanted to do when I saw this image on the cartridge. This image reminded me of the chives in bloom that I grow on my back patio in pots.

My card base is an A2 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” cream card stock. My orange and patterned paper is from a Basic Grey 6” X 6” paper pad I got from Cutter’s Creek several months ago and is no longer available. I really encourage you to get some of the 6” X 6” pads that Cutter’s Creek sells like the new Echo Park pads. They are great for card making, the patterns are shrunk down to be in proportion to the size and work great for cards reducing waste. Check them out.

Back to my card. I used the Elegant Edges cartridge for the decorative mat and cut both the shadow and the base image from page 38 of the handbook using the oblong creative feature.

My yellow layer of the decorative mat was actually cut out of white card stock. I used some Wild Honey Distress Ink and my Inkssentials Blending Foam and the Alcohol Ink Applicator to apply the ink in a circular motion over my entire piece of white card stock. Then I sprayed it with some Sun Sister’s Glimmer Mist. Once I sprayed the card stock and lightly blotted it with a paper towel and let it dry.

While the card stock was drying I cut out my image from page 67 of the Kate’s ABC’s handbook. I cut all the layers at 3” and followed the colors as they worked for what I wanted to do. After adhering all the layers together I got out my Sweet Pea Flower Soft and my Flower Soft Glue and got to work. I applied the glue to the flowers and sprinkled the flower soft over the glue and tamped it down using my finger. I allowed it to dry and then gently tapped off the excess and loose flower soft.

To finish my card, I added a piece of twine from my stash to the pot and attached the image to my card front with some foam tape . I then added some pink I-Rocks Glitter Gems in two sizes using my heat set tool to each corner of my yellow mat. Love this gem set, it has several different colors and each color and several different sizes. I opted to use two sizes with a larger one in the middle. I haven’t stamped a sentiment yet as I haven’t decided who will be getting this card and for what occasion.

Weekend Vinyl Projects

I had some quick little projects I wanted to get done this weekend using some vinyl and my Cricut.

My first project was to label some plastic squeeze bottle I got when I was at the coast to put oil in. I used the font on the Nursery Rhymes cartridge for the Olive Oil and Canola Oil. I cut the letters at 1 1/4” out of black cricut vinyl. I used the kiss cut method with my blade depth at 6 and my pressure at 2. Cutting it this way only cuts through the vinyl and not through the backing. I pulled off the excess vinyl, weeded my letters and used some clear contact paper as transfer tape to apply the vinyl to the bottles.

My second project I did as a gift for my stepdad for Father’s Day. He has been going through a rough time lately, his estranged son passed away a month ago from cancer. So, I thought this might cheer him up.

I bought a reusable eco coffee cup from a local store. I used my Don Juan cartridge for the font and cut the letters #1 Boss Man at 1” out of red vinyl again using the kiss cut method. I used my scrapper from my cricut tool kit and more clear contact paper as transfer tape to apply the letters to one side of the cup. On the back I added a little crew cut smiley face from Graphically Speaking cut at 1.65”. I am pleased how this turned out and think he will like it.

Retirement Card

I have a coworker who is retiring on Friday. This is the card I made for him. I started with a piece of bamboo colored card stock cut to 10” X 7” and scored and folded to make a 5” X 7” card base. The patterned paper I used is from Cloud 9 Tropical Stripe. The paper is two sided and I used the blue side for my first mat cut to 4 3/4” X 5 3/4”. I then used the striped side and cut a mat 4 1/2” X 5 1/2”. I then cut a scrap piece of bamboo cardstock to 5 1/2” and tore it to give it a rough edge. I didn’t measure the height of the piece but I think it is about 1 1/2” wide. I used some Tea Dye and Wild Honey distress ink and inked the entire piece to help it look more like sand. I then lightly sprayed the piece with some antique lace glimmer mist. I then attached it to the card front. The palm trees were cut from the Life’s A Beach cricut cartridge at 4.4” . I ran the tree tops through my cuttlebug and embossed them with the Victoria A2 embossing folder. I attached this straight to the card and put the end of the trunks just under the “sand”. The chair is also from the Life’s A Beach cartridge and is cut at 2.7”. I used some Weathered Wood distress ink to ink the char to give it a weathered look and help the slats stand out. I attached it to the card front with some foam tape. To finish the card I added few shell embellishments that I had to the sand. The top upper right corner of the striped paper I folded down to show and added a red button with some brown and white striped twine tied in a knot. I stamped my sentiment with some Walnut Stain distress ink. I finished the inside with a small piece of the striped paper and added another stamped sentiment that says Enjoy Your Retirement also stamped in Walnut Stain ink. I am envious that he is able to retire. I have a 3 or 4 more years. I hope he enjoys the card and his retirement.

21st Birthday Wishes

The new challenge at the Scrappy Frogs Blog is to make a Birthday project. My niece just turned 21 and this is the card I made for her. The card base was cut using the Cricut Imagine cartridge All Wrapped Up at 5 1/2”. I used the layer feature when cutting card. I then cut the sentiment at 1 1/4” also using the layers feature. I used the font from the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge to cut the 21. I cut the shadow from pink and the base layer in green. I added some firefly stickles to the 21 to make them stand out. I also added some gems to the mat and some faux white stitching around the card base. It was a quick easy card to put together.

Birthday Card

I recently bought one of the 6 X 6 pads of the Echo Park Paper from Cutter’s Creek. As soon as I received the Summer's Day pad I knew the colors in the patterned paper would work great with my All Wrapped Up Cricut Imagine cartridge. All of the solid colored cuts are flooded with colors from the All Wrapped Up Imagine cartridge.

For my card I started with a 9” X 6”Bazzill Simply Smooth white card stock that I scored at 4 1/2” and folded to create a 4 1/2” X 6” card base. I then used a piece of the patterned paper from the Echo Park Summer’s Day paper pad cut the 4 3/4” X 5 7/8”. I really just wanted a very narrow white border on the card. I used my Elegant Edges Cricut Imagine cartridge and using the Oblong feature on the cartridge cut just the shadow of a scalloped rectangle that I flooded with a bright lime green color from the All Wrapped Up cartridge. I cut this rectangle at 4.4”. Instead of adding stamped sentiment to my card I decided to emboss this green mat with the Happy Birthday cuttlebug A2 embossing folder. I attached this to the card with some foam tape. The mouse image is from the Birthday Bash cartridge and was cut at 3.0” again all flooded with colors from the All Wrapped Up Imagine cartridge. I added some Orange Peel Stickles to the orange dots on the package and some Fruit Punch Stickles to the pink dots on the gift. I added some white doodle dots with my Sakura Gel Pen. I attached the mouse to the card with an Action Wobble.

The cartridges used on the project are not listed on the Cutter’s Creek store site but Kim may be able to get them for you. The Action Wobble’s are on the site for Pre-order and should be available sometime in June.

Graduation Card

Here is a quick graduation card I made for my cousin’s son who is graduating this weekend from the University of Southern California. My card base is 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” cream card stock scored at 4 1/4’ and folded to make a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” card base. I added a red mat cut at 4” X 5 1/4” and then a cream mat cut at 3 3/4” X 5” and then added a piece of patterned graduation themed paper cut at 3 1/2” X 4 3/4”. I then used my Everyday Pop up Cartridge to cut the graduation cap. I cut all the layers at 2 1/2” I used cream for the shadow and darker red for the base layer. I cut everything with my Expression after laying it out on my Gypsy to help with sizing. The red I used for the top layer of the cap is a shimmery paper from Recollections that was a scrap I had. I cut the tassel from a golden yellow and adhered it to the hat. I then used my paper piercer to pierce a hole through all the layers of the hat and also the end of the tassel and added a small brass brad to the center of the cap. I then stamped my sentiment with some Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Dress ink on more white cardstock and then cut a rectangle around the sentiment. I added a red mat cut about 1/4” larger then the cream mat with the sentiment. The hat and sentiment are both adhered to the card base with foam tape. Thanks for visiting.

Anniversary Card

My 23rd wedding anniversary is this Saturday. My husband and I are headed to a bed and breakfast at the Oregon Coast to celebrate. Because May is such a full month for us with birthdays, Mother’s Day and our Anniversary we usually don’t do much other than go to dinner. I decided to make a card and take with me to give to my husband while we are gone. My card base is an 9” X 4 1/2” rectangle flooded with a green gingham pattern from the Imagine More Cricut Imagine cartridge. I then used one of the images from the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge and flooded each layer with a pattern or color from the Imagine More cartridge. I adhered the layers and shadow together and pop dotted to the from of my card. I then cut the Happy Anniversary from the Sweethearts Cricut Cartridge and a dark brown and blue and flooded each layer with the colors from the Imagine More cartridge. I cut the sentiment at 1 1/4”. I then cut the butterfly also from the Imagine More cartridge at 1 1/2”. I cut the image using the combine feature and cut it twice. I layered the butterfly cuts with a glue dot in the middle and some small pieces of foam tape under each wing so the butterfly wings were raised. To finish the card I used some clear heat set rhinestones under the butterfly and added a cream colored ribbon. I think the colors and simplicity of the card will work well for my husband. Paper Playtime Challenge #45

The challenge this week over at Paper Playtime is to make a tall card with an optional Cricut Cut if you have a cricut. Here is what I came up with for you. I started with a piece of white card stock at to 8” x 9” and scored it at 4” so I ended up with a card base 4” X 9”. Using my Gypsy, Cricut Imagine and the Better Together cartridges I laid out all the elements for my card. I used the George and Basic Shapes cartridge to create the colored rectangles. I sized both rectangles to 8” and flooded one with the solid red from the Better Together cartridge and the other with this flower print also from the Better Together Imagine cartridge. I cut the image of the lady with the presents at 6” using the layers feature. I inked the edges of all the cuts with some brown chalk ink and adhered the two mats together and added a blue ribbon to the lower part of the card. Using the same brown chalk ink I stamped my Happy Birthday sentiment and adhered the mats to my card base with my ATG gun. I used pop dots to adhere the individual presents to the main image cut and the pop dotted the entire image to the patterned paper. To give the card a little more bling I used Yellow stickles on the flowers on the middle package, Glam Pink on the ribbon on the small top package. In addition to these two stickle colors I also used Tutti Fruiti and True Blue on the dots of the larges package. One final touch was to add Tutti Fruiti stickles the pink flowers on the background paper along with Star Dust stickles to the blue and white flowers. This added some glitter and glitz to the card. Baby Wall Hanging

I started my project with an unfinished frame that I picked up at my local craft store for $1. I painted it with some Wicker White acrylic paint and then sprayed it with some Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist. After I sprayed on the glimmer mist I rubbed it with a paper towel like you would stain. I did this twice. It doesn’t show up well in the photo but it gave the frame a pretty light pale green color and the gold glimmer shows up in the light and makes the frame just shimmer.
For the picture I put inside the frame I used a Reddy Card image from Baby and Birth Ecstasy Craft . These are so simple to use and look wonderful when you get done. All of the images punch out and are numbered in the order you layer them. For my image I layered the images using the Joy Foam Pads between the layers to give that 3d effect.
I covered the chip board backing for the frame with some two toned green striped paper and mounted my picture to the chipboard piece with my ATG gun. I used a cut from the Cricut Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge. For the flowers, I used some Flower Soft Wires that I covered with the Flower Soft Adhesive and then I sprinkled the adhesive covered wires with the Sweet Pea Flower Soft turning the wires as I sprinkled the Flower Soft over them to ensure that all sides were coating. I used a 2” square of pink tissue paper to create a cone shape to put the flowers in, tied a narrow sheer white ribbon around the cone and glued it to the frame with the Flower Soft Adhesive. The Ecstasy Craft items are a great way to make a quick project that looks fantastic. I hope you give them a try.

Happy Mother’s Day Card

For this card I started with a 5” X 7” white pre-folded card base. I used the Lori’s Garden cartridge for all the patterned papers. I started with the 5:7 stock image rectangle and flooded it with the floral blue pattern and cut it down to 4 3/4” X 6 3/4”. I then cut a piece of white card stock 2” x 6 3/4” and used Martha Stewart border punch on it and put that across the middle of my card. I added a light blue and white dotted ribbon across the top of the white to cover the edge of the card stock. I then used my Elegant Edges cartridge and flooded the shadow of this image with a pink patterned paper and cut it at 4”. I cut the base layer flooded with a blue patterned paper. I then cut the image one more time at 3 1/2” and flooded it with a solid dark blue also from Lori’s Garden Imagine cartridge. I ran the solid blue piece through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. I cut the pansy image from Lori’s Garden as well at 3” using the layers feature. I pop dotted many of the layers of the flowers to give dimension to the card. I adhered mat cut from Elegant Edges to the card with pop dots but the individual layers where adhered together with my ATG gun. To finish the card, I tied a small bow and adhered it to the ribbon with a pop dot. Added some pearls at the lower edge of my card and stamped my sentiment. Thanks for visiting.

It’s a Girl Mini Album

The challenge this week over at Scrappy Frogs Challenge Blog anything goes. Here is my first post as a Design Team Member. I recently bought the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge and knew the book creative feature would make a great mini album. I also had the want to make a mini album for a co-worker who is having her first baby, a girl this summer. Mindy challenged us to go out of our comfort zone and make something we don’t usually make. Since I am a diehard card maker what a perfect time to challenge myself to make a mini album. The album isn’t bound yet, I am waiting for my wires for my Bind-It-All to arrive probably Monday or Tuesday and will get it bound and a picture added to this post when I do. I used the Elegant Edges and one of the images from the cartridge to cut the image for the cover. I cut the wording from the Nursery Rhymes cricut cartridge. I sprayed the green mat with some Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist and the pink with Pearl Glimmer Mist.

I used the Lace Edge image from page 44 of the handbook and use the book creative feature to cut my pages at 5” for my mini album. Since I didn’t have chipboard I cut each image twice out of colored cardstock and then again from my patterned paper. To cover the base pages I used some heavy patterned paper from K & Company.

I also used Images printed and cut from my Imagine and the Nursery Tails cartridge. Lace, and trims from my stash adorn many of the pages as well as some stickers and embellishments from K & Company and from my stash.

The tag on this page is actually from the Imagine More cartridge. It is the one with the little strawberry on it. I cut it at 3” and flooded the base layer with green, the next layer with pink and then left the lined paper image as is. I did not use the strawberry or the word Sweet. All of the frames in the book are also cut from the Elegant Edges cartridge. I left the back of the back cover as is. It is the same patterned paper as the front cover. This was a huge challenge for me as I do not scrapbook and have never made a layout. This is the second mini album I have made and the first of this kind. It was a lot of work but I am very happy how it turned out.

Mother’s Day Card

Here is a quick Mother’s Day card I made this afternoon using the All Wrapped Up Cricut Imagine cartridge. This is a card that is on the cartridge. The Imagine cartridges don’t have the typically creative features like the regular cricut cartridges do. I cut this card at 5 1/2” which gave me a wide of 8” so my finished card size is 4” X 5 1/2 and will fit in a regular A2 envelope. I left all the colors as they were in the book and used the layer feature to cut the images. I scored and folded the card base. Before adhering the blue scalloped layer I lightly sprayed it with some Electric Blue glimmer mist to give it some sparkle which doesn’t show up well in the photo. After it dried I adhered it to my card. I adhered the layers of the Babushka doll with pop dots except for the center of the flower under the scarf. To finish the card I used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching along the edge of the blue scallop mat. I also added some dark pink rhinestone flowers to the corners of the scallop and a dark pink rhinestone gem to the center of the flower. I stamped my sentiment Happy Mother’s Day in white pigment ink. I am really loving the bright colors on the All Wrapped Up Imagine cartridge. Thanks for visiting.

Mom's Day Card - Cutters Creek Treat Design Team Challenge

A few weeks ago, Kim the owner of the online store Cutter's Creek sent each of her Design Team Members a treat, a product from Cutters Creek. This is what I came up with using the Cutters Creek Branded Micro Roses she sent.

My card base is Kraft card stock cut and folded to make a 5" x 7" card base. I used Lori's Garden Imagine cartridge and the 5:7 rectangle stock image one sized at 5" and flooded with the orange and brown pattern and one sized at 5.2" and flooded with a dark apricot color. I cut the the solid color mat to 4 3/4" X 6 3/4" and punched it with a scallop border punch. I then cut the patterned paper to 3 1/2" Xx 6 3/4" and adhered it to the apricot piece with my ATG gun. I added a piece of white lace trim. For the rose bushes I used the Freshly Picked Cricut cartridge, my Gypsy and the Imagine app. Again all colors are from Lori's Garden and the bushes were cut at 3.6". Instead of cutting the roses and the ribbon I gently removed the bows from the little flower bouquets, and using some small wire cutters snipped the roses from the wire. I attached the roses to the bush with some small glue dots and also the ribbon. The bushes are attached to the card base with foam tape. I inked around the edges of all the parts of the rose bush using some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye. My sentiment was stamped with Walnut Stain distress ink. I added some brown pearls as a finishing touch.

All Wrapped Up Boxes

I just got the Cricut Imagine cartridge All Wrapped Up in the mail yesterday and was anxious to try it out. So this morning I made a couple of the boxes. I used the layers feature and fit to page to cut the boxes. They aren't very big but fit some small Easter candy bars in them. I was able to get for candy bars in each box.

The cartridge prints out a dotted score line so you know where to score and fold your boxes. These went together really quickly. I love the bright colors and patterns on the cartridge and hope to get a chance to play more with it soon. Hope you all have a great Easter.

Easter Bunny Card

Here is a card that I made as my first Cutters Creek Design Team Cutters Creek Design Team Blog member. If you haven’t been to the blog or the store I suggest you check them out. With Easter just a few days away, I made this cute Easter card for you. My card base is white card stock cut at 7” X 10” and scored at 5” and folded to make a 5” X 7” card base. I then used some scraps from my stash to cut a 4 ¾” X 6 ¾” mat out of plaid paper. The green mat is also from my stash and was cut at 4 ½” X 6 ½”. My bunny was cut at 3” out of brown card stock from the Easter 2010 seasonal Cricut cartridge. To make my bunny really stand out, I sprayed him with some Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist then let him dry. Once was dry I adhered him to my card with my ATG gun.
Once my bunny was attached to my card I decided he needed some grass so I pulled out my Flower Soft. I started with drawing a line with my Flower Soft Adhesive underneath my bunny and applying some Meadow Flower Soft. Working in sections, I then filled in the area from under the bunny to the bottom of my green mat with adhesive and applying the flower soft. Once I had the flower soft all over the adhesive I pressed down on it gently with my hand to make sure it was well adhered to the glue. I let it dry for a few minutes and then gently taped off the excess flower soft.
Now my bunny needed some Easter eggs. I again pulled out some scraps of paper and a couple of small egg stamps that I picked up last Easter. I used some Memento Ink to stamp my eggs. The colors I used were Rosebud and Bahama Blue ink to stamp my eggs. For the purple egg, I used some watermark ink. I hand cut the eggs out using a small pair of scissors. To bling up my eggs I add some Turquoise, Glam Pink, and Purple stickles. On the solid eggs I added some matching colored iRoc gems to the center of the flowers and a black gem to the eye of the bunny. Once my eggs were all decorated and dry and attached them to the grass with my Flower Soft Adhesive.
To finish my card I added a brown pompom that I lightly sprayed with the Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist to the tail of my bunny, tied a narrow purple ribbon around his neck and stamped my sentiment with Rosebud Memento Ink.

Card Using Lori’s Garden

I have 4 or 5 more birthday cards to do in the next 2 weeks as well as several Mother’s Day cards to make. So today I put this card together but I’ve left off the sentiment until I decide what I am going to use this for.

My card base is Kraft cardstock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” card base. I then cut a white mat 1/4” smaller than my card base. The blue patterned paper was printed out using the Lori’s Garden cartridge and my Imagine and cut to 3 3/4” X 5”. Using Lori’s Garden and the layers feature I cut the bird out at 3”. I glued all the layers together and then pop dotted it to the card front. To finish it off I added some copper colored pearls to the bird cage to add some bling. Using the Imagine I was able to create this card in record time which is good. I was really lacking energy and motivation today, not sure why. Thanks for visiting.

Paper Playtime Challenge #43

The challenge this week at Paper Playtime is to make a project using a weather related element such as the sun, clouds, rainbow, rain. This is what I came up with for you.

My card stock is from Core de’ nations Gemstone collection. My card is 4 1/2” X 6”. I added a black mat cut at 4 1/4” X 5 3/4” and a blue mat cut at 4” X 5 1/2”. My rainbow is from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cricut cartridge. I cut the rainbow and its layers at 3”. I used Glam Pink, Yellow, Orange, and True Blue stickles on each of the stripes of the rainbow and let it dry overnight. I also used some Distress Rock Candy stickles on the clouds but it doesn’t show up in the photo very well. My sentiment is from The Greeting Farm and says You’re the Rainbow after the storm. To finish the card I added some bright pink and yellow buttons to the lower right hand corner and upper left hand corner of my card. The buttons were adhered with glue dots. Everyday Pop Up Card

I had a chance to try out my new Everyday Pop Up Card Cricut Cartridge this morning. Got to love some days off of work! Any how, this cartridge was a bit of a challenge for me and I don’t think I have it quite figured out yet. With 6 birthdays over the next several weeks in my family I opted to try one of the birthday cards on the cartridge. Here is the first card I made with the cartridge. I opted to use the pop up phrase inside and put a cricut cut on the outside of the card.

All of the cuts I used are from page 61 of the handbook. I used colors and patterns from the Yummy Imagine cartridge and cut everything on my Imagine. I cut the card base at 5 1/2”. I cut the cupcake and it’s layers at 4”. I think my cupcake is a little too big but didn’t have time to redo it. I ran the layer for the wrapper through the cuttlebug and I believe that is the herringbone pattern embossing folder. I also ran the chocolate frosting layer through the cuttlebug and embossed it with the swirls embossing folder. I adhered everything together and and added some Firefly, Fruit Punch, and Tropical Tangerine stickles to the sprinkles. To finish off the cupcake I wrapped some dotted ribbon from my stash around the cupcake and added a flower.

For the popup inside, I wasn’t sure what size to cut it but also cut it at 4”. I flooded it with a blue pattern from the Yummy cartridge. There were no real score marks on the tabs that cut attached to the words so it was a little bit of a guess as to where to fold them. The bottom of this cut is fairly lacey and didn’t fold real well. I used Scor-Tape on the tabs to adhere it to the card.

Overall I am pleased with how it turned out. I will be playing with this more and would like to try out the image pop up next time. I do think there were easier images to try as the first time but you know me, never can seem to do anything that is too easy.

Elegant Edges Birthday Card

I received my Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge this week and had a chance to try it out today. I made this birthday card for my sister whose birthday is Saturday.

I started with a 5 1/2” square card base made from white card stock. I rounded the corners of the card base. I used the image from page 34 of the hand book, Dots1. I cut the shadow from some pink card stock in my stash. I then flooded the top layer with a pattern from the Yummy Cricut Imagine cartridge and the second layer with a dark turquoise blue from the Yummy color palette. I cut all these images at 5”. My cake and sentiment are also from the Yummy Imagine cartridge. I used the layers feature to cut the cake and candles at 3”. I cut the Make a Wish also using the layers feature at 1”. I sprayed the chocolate part of the cake with some coffee shop glimmer mist and the frosting layers with some old lace and pearl glimmer mist sprays. I also sprayed the background on the Make a wish with the coffee shop glimmer mist. Once the glimmer mist dried and glued all the layers together. I pop dotted the mat I cut from Elegant Edges to my white card base. I also pop dotted the cake and sentiment to the card for added dimension. I am not having to mail this card so am not worried about the added height on the card. I added some yellow and orange stickles to the candles so they sparkled.

This cartridge has so many great cuts on it. I am sure I will be using it often. Thanks for visiting.

Flower Card

For this card I used the Birthday Bash cricut cartridge for my card base which I cut from white card stock at 5 1/2". I cut the tag layer also at 5 1/2" and flooded it with a pink patterned paper from the Lori's Garden Cricut Imagine cartridge. My flower is from Forever Young. I used black for the shadow, green for the base layer, a hot pink for the base layer of the flower, white and a lighter pink for the last two layers. The flower was cut at 4.2". I ran the white and light pink layers through my Cuttlebug and embossed them with the swiss dots folder. The flower is adhered to the card with foam tape. I added a brad to the center of the flower from the My Minds Eye Lost and Found Madison Avenue Happily Ever After brad set. May Your Dreams Take Flight

My niece leaves at the end of April for 27 months in Guatemala through the Peace Corp. This is the card I made for her send off party in another week. I was very excited to get my Lori’s Garden Cricut Imagine cartridge this week and new this image would be perfect for the card.
I started with a white card stock base scored and folded to 5 1/2” X 4 1/4”. This is a portrait card. I used my imagine and the color and patterns pallets on the cartridge to bring a yellow mat and a pink patterned paper mat. The yellow mat was cut 5 1/4” 4 1/4” and I then used a small scallop border punch by EK Success to punch the bottom of the yellow mat. For the pink patterned paper mat I cut it to 5” X 3 3/4” and used the same border punch. I added a butter yellow sheer and satin ribbon to the lower part of my card. I cut the butterfly using the layers feature at 4”. I used pop dots between the layers and added the entire image to the card with pop dots as well. My sentiment says May your dreams take flight. I added some pearls to the upper right hand corner of the card. The card went together fairly quickly. Thanks for visiting.

Altered Notepad

A few weeks ago I came across this little notepad at Michael’s in the $1 bin. I new I wanted to do something with it and finally had a chance this afternoon. This is what I started with, I love the saying on it. And this is what it looks like when I got done with it.I cut a front and back cover out of some Bristol board. I cut the covers approximately 1/2” larger than the actually pad size. My covers were cut to 4 1/2” X 8 1/2”. The patterned paper is from a K & Company paper pack. I cut the patterned paper the same size as the cover. I adhered the patterned paper to the outsize and inside of the front cover. I then punched the cover with my bind it all and bound it with a 1/2” size wire. I adhered the pad to the inside back cover with some scor tape. To finish the front cover I added a piece of lace from my stash and a flower to the lower corner. I cut the word Notes using the font from Once Upon a Princess and flooded it with a brown from the Nursery Tails Imagine cartridge. I used a piece of shimmery cream card stock so the letters have a shimmer to them. It went together fast and I am very pleased how it turned out.

Spring Chick!

After spending time blog hopping through several spring time blog hops and the fact that the sun actually came out today, I decided I had to make a spring card.

I started with a Kraft card stock card base scored and folded to 4 1/4” X 5 1/2”. My patterned paper is a scrap in my stash. It is two sided paper so the yellow mat is actually just the reverse of the flowers. The yellow mat was cut at 4” X 5 1/4” and the patterned paper was cut at 3 3/4” X 5”. The chick and the egg are both from Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge. I used my Imagine and some RGB codes to flood the layers with color. The orange and black are stock colors on the Imagine. The chick and its layers and the egg were all cut at 3”. I used some canary colored flocking powder to flock my baby chick to give him a fuzzy look. I used some spray adhesive to apply the flocking and actually gave the chick two coats of flocking. The lighter colored belly of the chick is flocked using Ultra Fine Flower Soft in Sand. I ran the lower half of the egg through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Swiss Dots folder. The top half I left as is so I could stamp my sentiment on it. I adhered the chick and the egg top with one layer of foam tape and the lower half of the egg is on two layers of foam tape. Thanks for visiting.

Kim Bush owner of the Cutters Creek online store saw the tulip card I made last weekend and asked me if I would let her post it on the Design Team Blog today and be featured as Guest Designer. Of course I said yes, I was really honored. Not only that but Kim asked me if I would consider serving on her store's Design Team, and again I said yes. Plant a Flower Day Card

Abby over at Scrapbookaholic by Abby is having a Pick Your Own Holiday challenge over on her blog. I picked March 12th, Plant a Flower Day.

My card is a 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” Kraft card stock base. I added a white mat sized to 4” X 5 1/4”. I then used my Imagine and the 1:2 proportional rectangle sized at 2.5” and my Hopscotch colors and patterns Imagine cartridge to create the sky and the green “grass” section of the cards. I cut these down to 1 7/8” X 5”. I added some olive green ribbon from my stash over the seam where the two papers met. For my flowers I used my Freshly Picked Cricut cartridge and colors from my faulty Audrey Imagine cartridge for the colors of the flowers and the planter box and from the Imagine More Cards cartridge for the green leaves of the flowers. I cut the tulips and the layers at 2.7”. I ran the pink layer of the planter box through my Cuttlebug. Not sure what the name of the embossing folder is but it has a wood grain texture to it which I thought added to the planter. I pop dotted the flowers to the card for some dimension to the card. The sentiment I added is from The Greeting Farm Because of You sentiment I bought at Cutters Creek and says Everyone needs a Friend like you. Sorry it doesn’t show up better in the photo. Paper Playtimes Challenge

This week over at Paper Playtimes we were given 3 different challenges to choose from. The choices are, 1. use green and purple, 2. use pink and glitter, or 3. use a critter and a rhyme. I chose the third challenge for my first design team project. This third challenge is in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Horton Hears a Who was my inspiration for this card. Here is what I came up with.
I started with a 5” X 7” pre-folded white card base. I topped that with a blue mat cut at 4 7/8” X 6 7/8”. I used my Imagine and the 8:10 proportional rectangle and flooded it with this pattern from the Better Together Imagine cartridge. This pattern reminded me of the little wishes that Horton in Horton Hears a Who carried. My elephant was cut at 3” and is from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. I used my imagine to flood each layer of the elephant with color. The top layer is filled with a blue swirly pattern. All the colors and patterns on this card are from the Better Together cartridge. I added some bright yellow ribbon to my card and layered my little elephant together. The elephant is pop dotted to the card and I added some googly eyes and gave him a little hint of pink in his checks with some chalk. I added some faux stitching around the end of the card and sentiment and some doodle dots to the elephant. I printed out my sentiment on the computer and used the RGB codes for my font color so it matched the dark blue on the elephants ears. The sentiment I chose was, “I meant what I said, I said what I meant, and elephant’s faithful one-hundred percent”. I thought that was a inspiring and would perfect to thank a friend for being there for you through thick or thin.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #65

The challenge this week over at the Cricut Cardz Challenge Blog is to make a a tall card (4 X 9”). For my card I stared with a piece of Kraft card stock cut to 8” X 9” and scored and folded it at 4”. I then used my Imagine and the 1:2 proportional rectangle in the stock images on the Imagine. I sized the rectangle to 4.5” and flooded with the darkest green on the Nursery Tales cartridge. I then printed and cut the striped Icon on page 31 of the handbook at 2”. I also used the new Mother’s Day Bouquet Seasonal Mini cartridge to cut my flowers. I cut three layers at 2.5”, 2.3” and 1.3” and chose several different flowers. I flooded the first layer of one flower with the darkest blue on the Nursery Tales cartridge and the other two with a dark orange from the Nursery Tales cartridge. The second layer was flooded with either an orange or blue pattern from the Nursery Tales Imagine cartridge. For the final layer I flooded all three flowers with the lightest green from the cartridge color pallet. I sprayed this layer with some Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist. I attached the flower layers together gluing only in the very center of the flowers. This allows the flower petals to curl slightly and add some dimension to my card. I added a small button to the center of each flower and attached the flowers with some foam tape. To finish off the card, I added some faux stitching to the top and bottom of the card and some doodle dots to some of the flower petals. Thanks for visiting.

Feeling Green? Twisted Easel Card

Janis at Pause Dream Enjoy is having a Fun Fold card challenge on her blog and a chance to win a set of Peachy Keen stamps. I wanted to play along and just recently heard about a twist on the Easel card. It is a Twisted Easel card and thought it would work great for this challenge. While blog hopping recently I saw a really cute St. Patrick’s Day card with some frogs and the saying Feeling Green. I just thought it was so super cute and wanted to make my own version of the card and knew it would be perfect for this challenge.
To make the card I followed the tutorial on Pam Sparks blog. I can’t take credit for finding the tutorial Bob at Happy Cardmaker posted the link and was my inspiration to give this a try.
My finished card is a 6” X 6” Square card. I started with a piece of card stock cut 6” X 12” and scored it at 6”, then scored one side from corner to corner diagonally. I used some dark green card stock I had in my stash for the card base. The patterned paper on the card is from a K & Co paper stack. I used my Cricut Imagine and the Audrey cartridge for frog. The frog cut was cut at 2.7” and is from the Once Upon a Princess cricut cartridge. The shamrocks on the inside of the card are cut at 2” and are from the Celebrate With Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge and I again flooded the layers with colors and patterns from the Audrey Cricut Imagine cartridge. I ran the frog's stomach through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. I printed the Feeling Green sentiment out on my computer.

Red Hatters Blog Hop

Welcome to the Red Hatters Blog Hop. If you came from Deanne's Blog then you are going in the right direction. If you would like to start at the beginning you will need to go to Dustin's Blog. I hope you enjoy your visit here. Now on to my project I came up with for you.
I found a purple metallic frame at the store and it was perfect for my project. I cut one of the hats from the Forever Young Cricut cartridge at 2.5”. Using my Imagine I flooded the first layer with a purple color and the next layer with red, hit print and cut. Once done, I sprayed the red layer with some spray adhesive and sprinkled it with some Martha Stewart red flock. It took two layers to get the look I wanted. I then added some small purple rhinestones to the hat. Before adhering the red and purple hat layers together, I added some red and purple feathers rather than the flower that came with the cut. I then cut the two layers of the dress from the Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge using some Pearlescent Core’de nations cardstock. I cut the base layer at 2 1/2” in red and the shift layer at the same size in flooded with the same purple at the hat. I adhered the layers together and added a purple rhinestone where the belt buckle should go. I then cut the phrase Ooh La La from the Forever Young cartridge at 1 1.2” using the same purple and red colors and Pearlescent cardstock. I then ran the red layer through my Xyron upside down so I could adhere some red glitter to the letters before attaching them to the purple shadow. I adhered everything to the frame with some foam tape. To finish my project I covered the white mat that came with the frame with some red cardstock and printed out the Red Hatters Society poem on white cardstock and cut it to fit the frame opening. I adhered these last two layers together with my ATG gun and put the frame back together. I am really pleased how this turned out.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #64

The challenge this week over at Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a bookmark. I didn’t have a lot of time but wanted to play along so here is what I came up with.

Unfortunately I didn’t write down all my sizes but I cut the tag for my book mark using Plantin Schoolbook and the tag found under the Italic option. I resized the tag on my Gypsy so it was 2 1/2” wide and 6” tall. I cut the tag twice once out of cream cardstock and then again out of the patterned paper as I wanted the bookmark sturdier than the pattern paper alone would have made it. The rest of the cuts are from Graphically Speaking and these are the ones I am not sure of the sizes, I believe about 1 1/2” to 2”. I inked all the edges with some Tea Dye distress ink. Attached everything to the bookmark and added some olive green ribbon at the top.
