Kat Scrappiness Christmas in July Challenge

Kat Scrappiness is having a Christmas in July Sale and a Christmas in July Challenge. It's a Pick 3 challenge. Head over to the Kat Scrappiness blog for details.

This is my take on the challenge. I think I ended up with more than 3 picks. I used the Christmas Wreath die. I cut it out twice to make a fuller wreath. I then used the snow flurries stencil and the 3d Snow Gel Medium to add a snowy effect to my wreath.

I then used the Festive Christmas Arrangement dies and the two shades of the Gold Faux Glitter paper pad to create my bow for the wreath, I used a scrap of one of the red faux glitter paper to cut my berries.

I added some gold pearls to finish my card.  Be sure to check out the Kat Scrappiness Christmas in July Sale going on this month.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, Deanna here back with another Christmas in July project for your inspiration from Dies R Us. Here is what I have for  you today.

I started with a white card base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 12" card base.  I added a red mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4".  Next I added a green patterned paper mat cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".

My Poinsettia Die is from the Poppystamps Holiday Poinsettia die.   After die cutting my Poinsettia layers, I used an embossing mat to emboss each flower layer.  That is what gives you the detail in the flower petals.  The paper I used had a bit of shimmer to it.

Before adhering the individual flower layers together, I used a pencil to slightly curl the leaves under to give the flower a  more realistic look.  I adhered the layers together using some liquid adhesive and then added the yellow flower center.  Once the flower was assembled and dried I added it to my card.

For my sentiment, I used the Poppystamps Old Fashioned Christmas die.  This die is currently out of stock but there are several other Merry Christmas dies found here, here, and here.  There are some wonderful holiday days in the newest release of Poppystamps and Memory Box dies. Be sure to check them out.  If you haven't already done so be sure to sign up for the newsletter to be notified on new releases as well as other sales and special order dies.

Christmas in July

Hi everyone, Deanna here with another project for Dies R Us.  I don't know about you but I have been getting emails about Christmas in July specials the minuet it hit July 1st.  So, I thought I would do a Christmas in July project.  Here is what I have for you today.

I started with a light grey colored card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I then cut a mat out of some glittered card stock from my stash. The mat was cut at 4" X 5 1/4".  Next I cut the patterned glitter card stock at 3 3/4" X 5".

For my ornament I used the Stitched Graham Die for the top layer and the Drop Ornaments Layers for the back layer of the ornament. For the diamond shape mat that my ornament is on I used the Memory Box Open Studio Stitched Squares dies.  To make the ornaments, I die cut the images out of some toner paper that came with my Minc.  For the back layer I applied some green foil and ran the image through my Minc to set the foil.  For the top layer, I applied some gold foil and ran that through my Minc to adhere my foil.  I just love the shine the foil adds to the images.

My sentiment is stamped with some Memento Cottage Ivy ink on some Vellum.  I let the ink dry for a short while then adhered the Vellum to my card by placing small dots of adhesive behind the letters in my sentiment.  There you have it. My completed card.

Just in case you didn't know, or haven't subscribed to the newsletter yet (which you really should do) Dies R Us is having a Pre-Order for the new Holiday release of the Memory Box and Poppystamp Dies.  Dies are expected to arrive  July 7th so hurry over and get your order in so you can be one of the first ones to get these new awesome dies.
