Cricut Cardz May Day Challenge
Welcome to the Cricut Cardz Challenge #108 at Cardz TV. This challenge is a May Day challenge, to make a card for any occasion using flowers from any cartridge(s) and using any colors you'd like. This is what I came up with.
My card base is a 5" x 7" white card stock. I used my corner rounder to round all the corners. I used the Lacey Labels cartridge to cut the navy mat and the white mat at 6 1/2". I ran the white mat through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with a floral embossing folder from Sizzix. My vase of flowers was cut at 6" from the Kate's ABC's. I used my Imagine and the All Wrapped Up cartridge for my colors. To finish the card I added some stickles to some of the flowers, stamped Hello in the lower right hand corner and added 3 pearls to the lower left hand corner. For the pearls, I took some white pearls and colored them with a Copic marker to get some blue ones to go with my card. I hope you will play along with us and look forward to seeing what you all come up with.

After the Storm Card
I started with a white card stock card base cut and folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a blue mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then a polka dotted mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5". The polka dot paper is from Echo Park, so is the green paper for the Grass.I thought the polka dotted paper gave the impression of rain. For the grass I used the grass cut from the Easter 2010 Seasonal cartridge. Using my Gypsy I welded 3 pieces of the grass together. I size the image to 1 3/4" X 5" and then cut the grass out of the green striped paper and adhered it to my card.
My little girl image is from Kate's ABC's and she is cut at 3 1/2" I used my Imagine the Nursery Tail cartridge to color and cut the layers for my little girl. Her face and hands are an RGB color. I adhere all the layers of my little girl together with my zig two way glue pen. I finished the image with some Glossy Accents on the boots, coat and hat so it had the shiny rain coat look. I used some pink chalk to give my little girl a rosy cheek. I adhered my little girl to my card with some foam tape.
My sentiment mat is cut at 2 1/4" from the Elegant Edges cartridge. I used the same blue for the sentiment mat image as I did for my card. I inked around the white layer with some Summer Sky Memento ink and then stamped my sentiment with the same ink. The sentiment says You're the Rainbow after the Storm and is from The Greeting Farm. I adhered the sentiment mat down directly to my card with my ATG gun and then added some small blue buttons in each corner.
I am also entering this card in the April Showers challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut. I hope you like my card. Thanks for visiting.

Just Saying Hello Card
I have a fun spring card for you today. My card base is white smooth Bazzill card stock cut and scored to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a mat from the My Minds Eye Fiddlesticks 6" X 6" paper pad. The new My Minds Eye paper pads are fabulous. I cut the wood grain mat (don't you just love it!) at 4" X 5 1/4". Then I added a strip of the reverse side of the paper cut at 1 1/2" X 4". I cut my image from the Kate's ABC cartridge at 3". I used the Cricut Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge for my pattern on the watering can and my flowers. I used a white gel pen to add some doodle dots to my flowers and some faux stitching to the watering can and the polka dot mat. I then adhered everything to my card front and used some Flower Soft Adhesive and some Meadow Flower Soft around the edge of my watering can. I wanted it to look like it was sitting in the grass. Finally I added my sentiment with some Memento Rich Cocoa Ink and added some stickles to my flower centers.

Just Because Card
I recently got the Kate’s ABC’s Cricut cartridge and knew immediately what I wanted to do when I saw this image on the cartridge. This image reminded me of the chives in bloom that I grow on my back patio in pots.
My card base is an A2 4 1/4” X 5 1/2” cream card stock. My orange and patterned paper is from a Basic Grey 6” X 6” paper pad I got from Cutter’s Creek several months ago and is no longer available. I really encourage you to get some of the 6” X 6” pads that Cutter’s Creek sells like the new Echo Park pads. They are great for card making, the patterns are shrunk down to be in proportion to the size and work great for cards reducing waste. Check them out.
Back to my card. I used the Elegant Edges cartridge for the decorative mat and cut both the shadow and the base image from page 38 of the handbook using the oblong creative feature.
My yellow layer of the decorative mat was actually cut out of white card stock. I used some Wild Honey Distress Ink and my Inkssentials Blending Foam and the Alcohol Ink Applicator to apply the ink in a circular motion over my entire piece of white card stock. Then I sprayed it with some Sun Sister’s Glimmer Mist. Once I sprayed the card stock and lightly blotted it with a paper towel and let it dry.
While the card stock was drying I cut out my image from page 67 of the Kate’s ABC’s handbook. I cut all the layers at 3” and followed the colors as they worked for what I wanted to do. After adhering all the layers together I got out my Sweet Pea Flower Soft and my Flower Soft Glue and got to work. I applied the glue to the flowers and sprinkled the flower soft over the glue and tamped it down using my finger. I allowed it to dry and then gently tapped off the excess and loose flower soft.
To finish my card, I added a piece of twine from my stash to the pot and attached the image to my card front with some foam tape . I then added some pink I-Rocks Glitter Gems in two sizes using my heat set tool to each corner of my yellow mat. Love this gem set, it has several different colors and each color and several different sizes. I opted to use two sizes with a larger one in the middle. I haven’t stamped a sentiment yet as I haven’t decided who will be getting this card and for what occasion.
While the cricut cartridges are not listed on the Cutter’s Creek site Kim might be able to order them for you, just ask.
