Tag, You're It! Challenge
The new Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a card using a tag or tags and any cartridge, color and theme you want. This is what I came up with.
I start with a white card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I cut my tag from the Sweethearts cartridge at 5". I used my Imagine and the Floral Emporium cartridge for all my solid colors and patterned papers. My queen was cut at 3 1/2" from the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge. I used a copic marker to add color to her cheeks and I painted the layers of her crown with some Glimmer Glaze. I stamped my sentiment "The Queen Rules" with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I attached her to the tag with some foam tape and attached the entire tag to the front of my card.
I sure hope you will play along with us for the challenge, it was a lot of fun.

Birthday Card
The Cricut Cardz Challenge is A Stitch in Time, to make a project for any occasion, using any cartridges and colors we wanted and to use real our faux stitching on the project. Since I have a co-worker having a birthday later this week I decided to make her a birthday card. This is what I came up with.
My card is a 5" X 7" and made from white card stock. I added a hot pink mat cut at 4 3/4" X 6 3/4" and a lime green mat cut at 4 1/2" X 6 1/2". My patterned paper is from SEI and is cut at 4 1/4" X 6 1/4". The cupcake is from the Smiley Cards Gypsy cartridge and was cut at 3 1/2". I used the same hot pink and lime green that I used for my mats to cut the layers of the cupcake. The tag for my sentiment is from the Once Upon a Princess cartridge and was cut at 1 1/2" from the pink card stock. I made my own shadow for the tag by just increasing the size of the tag a 1/4" and cutting it from the green card stock. I added some faux stitching to the pink mat and also around the green layer of the sentiment tag and the outside edge of the cupcake wrapper and added some white dots to the pink cheeks. I ran the frosting layer through my Cuttlebug and embossed with the the Divine Swirls embossing folder. I cut my sprinkles from a light pink and added some cotton candy stickles to them. Finally, I outlined the frosting layer and the pink tag with some Glam stickles. I adhered the cupcake to the card with an action wobble. Thanks for visiting.

Altered Notepad
A few weeks ago I came across this little notepad at Michael’s in the $1 bin. I new I wanted to do something with it and finally had a chance this afternoon. This is what I started with, I love the saying on it. And this is what it looks like when I got done with it.
I cut a front and back cover out of some Bristol board. I cut the covers approximately 1/2” larger than the actually pad size. My covers were cut to 4 1/2” X 8 1/2”. The patterned paper is from a K & Company paper pack. I cut the patterned paper the same size as the cover. I adhered the patterned paper to the outsize and inside of the front cover. I then punched the cover with my bind it all and bound it with a 1/2” size wire. I adhered the pad to the inside back cover with some scor tape. To finish the front cover I added a piece of lace from my stash and a flower to the lower corner. I cut the word Notes using the font from Once Upon a Princess and flooded it with a brown from the Nursery Tails Imagine cartridge. I used a piece of shimmery cream card stock so the letters have a shimmer to them. It went together fast and I am very pleased how it turned out.

Feeling Green? Twisted Easel Card
To make the card I followed the tutorial on Pam Sparks blog. I can’t take credit for finding the tutorial Bob at Happy Cardmaker posted the link and was my inspiration to give this a try.
My finished card is a 6” X 6” Square card. I started with a piece of card stock cut 6” X 12” and scored it at 6”, then scored one side from corner to corner diagonally. I used some dark green card stock I had in my stash for the card base. The patterned paper on the card is from a K & Co paper stack. I used my Cricut Imagine and the Audrey cartridge for frog. The frog cut was cut at 2.7” and is from the Once Upon a Princess cricut cartridge. The shamrocks on the inside of the card are cut at 2” and are from the Celebrate With Flourish Cricut Lite cartridge and I again flooded the layers with colors and patterns from the Audrey Cricut Imagine cartridge. I ran the frog's stomach through my Cuttlebug and embossed it with the Tiny Bubbles embossing folder. I printed the Feeling Green sentiment out on my computer.

Hey Cupcake Card
My card is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". The card base is lavendar card stock. The pink mat is 4 1/8" X 5 3/8". My patterned paper mat is 4" X 5 1/4" and is from DCWV Sweets paper stack. The cupcake is cut from Once Upon a Princess (OUAP) cricut cartridge at 3 1/2". I cut the base layer out of brown card stock so I could have a chocolate cupcake to match the ones on the patterned paper. I used some aqua card stock to cut the frosting and the base layer of the cupcake liner. I then used some light aqua and white striped paper from the same DCWV paper stack to cut the outer layer of the cupcake liner. I inked the ends of the frosting and liners with some teal ink. The sprinkles that I cut for the cupcake were done in pink but just didn't pop enough for me so I added some light pink skittle (or dew drops) on top of the which helped them pop and show up more. I added a aqua ribbon I had on hand to the side of the card and tied a knot bow. For my sentiment I cut a tag from the OUAP cartridge at 1" X 2 1/4" out of purple, 7/8" X 2.18" out of pink. I used my Gypsy to size the tags so they were wide enough without being too tall. I printed my sentiment out on the computer onto white card stock. The font I used was Hobby Horse and it is printed at 22pts. I printed the sentiment 3 times on the same sheet of paper and laid it onto my Cricut mat. Using the squares and inch marks on my Gyspy mat I placed the tags into the positions where my text was and cut them out. Of the 3 I did 2 were right on. The one thing with the Gypsy is there is no center point feature which would have made cutting out the sentiment easier. I could have cut the tag directly from the cartridge but then my width measurement would have been off. I am pleased how it turned out and it was a lot of fun to make. Thanks for visiting.
