Boys Birthday Card
A friend from work asked me if I could make a card for her to give to her nephew who is turning 11 in a week. Other than the fact that he likes blue I knew nothing about it so making this card was a little harder than I thought it would be. I finally settled on a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I stared with a white card base and added a blue mat that was cut at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8". I embossed the top half of the blue mat with the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday embossing folder then added a strip of patterned paper cut at 4 1/8'' X 2 1/2". I add a piece of self adhesive orange twill ribbon where the two papers met to give it a more finished look. The tennis shoe I got from the Paisley cartridge. I cut the shoe and its layers at 2 1/2". The shoe comes with two little hearts that I didn't cut since this was for a boy. Instead I cut a small black start from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. I added some black faux stitching to the white circle with the star. I pop dotted the shoe to the card. This image on Paisley actually cuts two shoes but I only used one. I added small triangles of the patterned paper to each upper corner of the blue mat just for some additional color and to tie the card together. I hope she likes the card.

Celebrate!
Here is a cute little card I made using the Cricut Paisley cartridge. The card is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I started with a yellow card base. I added a bright pink mat to the lower half of the card and then topped that with the flowered is from Basic Grey. I cut the little dog and his layers at 3 1/2" The green ribbon is from Michael's. I also added some Fruit Punch stickles to the center small star to give it some bling and rounded the outside corners of the card and the lower outside corner of the mats. I added the sentiment Celebrate. This little dog just made me think he was dancing and celebrating with his little hula hoop! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Thanks for looking

Turtle Birthday Card
I made this birthday card today for the Cricut Cardz Challenge using Paisley and Sweet Treats cartridge. The card base is 4 1/2" X 6 1/4". The layers are 4 1/4" x 6 and 4" x 5 3/4". The Turtle and its layers was cut from the Paisley cartridge at 2 1/2". The party hat is from the Sweet Treats cartridge and I cut the hat and its layers at 2". the ribbon is some I picked up at Michaels. I assembled the turtle and the hat with my Zig Two Way Glue Pen. I added it to the card front with one layer of foam tape. The ribbon was tied using the My Pink Stampers cheater method. To give the card a more party flair I used turquoise stickles on the hat, cotton candy stickles on the cheeks, and fruit punch and eucalyptus stickles on the cherries. I am pleased how it turned out. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Cards
I made two birthday cards today, one for my daughter who will be 15 on Monday, and one for my niece who will be 22 a week from Monday. For my daughter, I wanted to make her a card the reflected her love of chocolate and sweets. I decided on a cupcake card from the Home Decor cartridge. I used the Blackout feature and my gypsy to weld two 4 1/4" cupcakes together at the top. I then cut the base layer also at 4 1/4" twice once out of the Stampin Up patterned paper and once out of the Aqua paper. I ran the frosting through my cuttlebug using the swirls embossing folder. To further enhance the frosting look I added some liquid applique to the swirls and sprinkled with white glitter and heated the liquid applique until it plumped up. The glitter doesn't show up in the photo very well. I made a little scalloped circle tag using the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge and cut it at 1 1/2". I stamped the birthday wishes with Tsukineko Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue ink.
For the card for my niece I used the Zebra from the Paisley cartridge. I cut the base cut and all the layers for the zebra at 3". My card base is some white card stock I had on hand and is 4 1/2" X 6 1/2". I used some Core' dinations card stock and embossed with the the bloom dots embossing folder then sanded it so the lighter core would show through. I then used the button key and cut the flower and its center at 1 3/4" for the tag to stamp my birthday sentiment on. I used some Tsukineko Brillance Ink Pad in Pearlescent Coral to stamp the sentiment. The ribbon is some I picked up at Michaels.

Baby Shower Card
We are having a baby shower for a Co-worker next week and I was asked to make a card. Her layette set is Tall Tales by Carter so I used that for inspiration. Tall Tales is dark brown with circles of aqua, orange, and blue with a giraffe on it. I used the giraffe from the Paisley cartridge. I cut two of the giraffes, one at 3" and a smaller one at 2". I used some pumpkin colored card stock for the 1st layer. The dotted paper is from Michael's. The chocolate brown is by Die Cuts With A View that I bought at Joann's and the cream colored card stock is just from my stash. The card is 8 1/2" X 5 1/2". I used cream colored card stock for the card, and cream for the layers. I embossed the cream colored card stock with the Cuttlebug Bloom Dot A2 embossing folder. The word baby is cut from Gypsy Wanderings at 1 1/4". I used pop dots for the giraffe's and the word paper to give the card some added dimension. Thanks for looking.

Paisley Valentine Card
Here is a quick card I made using the Paisley Cricut Cartridge. I laid everything out on my gypsy before cutting. The frog and layers were all cut at 3". The card is 4 1/2" x 6". The frog paper is from K & Company and is a single sheet I picked up a my LSS and is cut at 4 1/4" X 5 3/4". All the frog layers were cut from scraps of paper I had on hand. I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut the tags from page 98 of the manual. They are .75" X 3" and I used both the tag and the shadow. The sentiment is a stamp I picked up at my local craft store. For an additional whimsical look I added some googly eyes that I bought from the Dollar Store. Thanks for looking.
