Let's Craft and Create Challenge #206 AG Twist Beautiful Butterflies

It's time for a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create. This month as always, the challenge is Anything Goes with the twist of Beautiful Butterflies.

My card today is a standard A2 card base. My pattern paper is from Memory Box.  My butterfly is from Cricut Design Space. I manipulated the original design, so I didn't have to place all the individual-colored pieces. Instead, I sliced those pieces out of the top layer and created a solid layer to go behind the top layer.

I ink blended some cardstock with Spun Sugar and Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink and used that to cut the solid back layer. I used some silver holographic cardstock to cut my top layer of my butterfly.

I die cut a circle of more pattern paper using a 2 3/4" die. I cut my butterfly at 2 1/4".  I adhered my butterfly to my pattern paper circle with Liquid adhesive under the body and foam squares under the wings, so they had some lift.

I needed a birthday card, so stamped my sentiment on a scrap of the cardstock that was ink blended with the Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink. I used a sentiment strip die to cut it out. I adhered it to my cards with some small foam squares. I embellished my card with some dark pink Spellbinders pearls.

I appreciate you stopping by today. I hope you will head on over to the Let's Craft and Create blog for more Design Team projects and then link up your project.

BYSH Cardmakers Sketch #34 Inspiration Project

I have another inspiration project using sketch #34 for the BYSH Cardmakers June challenge. Today is the final day to enter a project.  My card features pattern papers from a Recollections 6" X 6" paper pad from my stash.

My tree is from Cricut Access and was cut with my Maker 3. I created a small offset for my tree in Design Space and cut that from some dark green cardstock. I cut the top layer from some gold mirror cardstock. I adhered the layers of the tree together with liquid adhesive.

For the little strip behind the tree, I used a border die from Spellbinders to cut that out of more of the gold mirror cardstock.  I heat embossed my sentiment on a piece of the dark green cardstock using some gold embossing powder.

I used some foam tape to adhere the tree and sentiment to my card, I added some red, green and gold gems to my tree as a finishing touch.

I hope you will pop on over to the BYSH Cardmakers blog for more inspiration then add your project to our Facebook group.

Thanks for stopping by. Hope you come back soon.

Let's Craft and Create Challenge #193 Anything Goes - Add Buttons

It's time for a new challenge over at Let's Craft and Create. Challenge #193 starts today and is Anything Goes - Add Buttons. This is what I came up with.

My card is a standard A2 card made from heavyweight white cardstock. I used some Paper Rose Cozy Day pattern paper that I received in a Simon Says Stamp card kit. It's cut to 4" X 5 1/4". I thought it looked like raindrops. I used more of that pattern paper to cut my umbrella using Spellbinders Umbrella Bloom Etched Dies. I added some thin foam tape between the front and back layers of the umbrella to give it some dimension. The flowers and leaves are dies included with the umbrella.

I added the pattern paper to my card base with liquid adhesive as well as the umbrella and flowers and leaves. My sentiments are from the Spellbinders I've got you Covered stamp and die set.

To finish my card I added 3 small orange buttons to the upper right hand side of my card.

Now it's your turn. Head on over to Let's Craft and Create and check out all the Design Team projects, then link your project up.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope to see you again soon.

BYSH Cardmakers Challenge Sketch #28

There's a new challenge at BYSH Cardmakers, Sketch #28. Today I have this cute reindeer card for you. This uses the BYSH Cardmakers Sketch #28. Here is a peek at the sketch.

I followed the sketch measurements. My pattern paper is from Doodlebug. I die cut my reindeer from colored cardstock. The die is from Spellbinders. I assembled my deer with liquid adhesive. I added some tea dye distress ink around the outside of his head and nose pieces to give it some shading. I cut an octagon out of some kraft cardstock and adhered my deer to that with liquid adhesive. I popped that up with some thin foam tape. For my sentiment I cut a label using my Cricut then white heat embossed my sentiment which is from Papertrey Ink.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will head over to the BYSH Cardmakers blog to check out the inspiration from the Design Team. Then head to our Facebook group and enter your project.

Let's Craft and Create Challenge #188 AG + The Colors of Fall

There is a new challenge over at Let's Craft and Create. Challenge #188 is Anything Goes with the option of The Colors of Fall (Use any or all of these colors - red, yellow, orange, brown). This is my project.

For my card I started off with some heavyweight white cardstock, cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. Next, I cut a piece of pattern paper to 4" X 5 1/4". My pattern paper is from an Echo Park Welcome Autumn 6" X 6" Mega Pad. I used a dark brown solid from the same paper pad and die cut it with Pink Fresh Studio's Geo Tiles coverplate die. I applied an adhesive sheet to the back of the paper before die cutting it so it was easier to adhere to my pattern paper. After I had those layered together, I attached them to my card base with liquid adhesive.

The leaves were cut from colored cardstock using an Autumn Leaves die set from Spellbinders. I heat embossed the word fall with some gold embossing powder and die cut it out using the matching dies from Honeybee Stamps. The word Greetings is from the same Honeybee stamp set and was also embossed in gold. I popped up my fall sentiment with foam tape. To finish the card, I added some gold pearls.

Now I hope you will pop on over to Let's Craft and Create to look at the inspiration provided by the rest of the Design Team and link up your project. We would love to have you join us.

Hello Sweet Friend

Today I have another card for you. My card uses the Altenew Build a Flower Bearded Iris stamp and die set. This is the first time I've used one of their Build A Flower stamp and die sets. It is not perfect as you can tell by the cut off stem but I think it turned out good.

For my card I started with the stamping. When I bought this set I bought the Altenew recommended mini ink pads so that is what I used to stamp my image.  I started with some Versafine Clare  Nocturine Ink to stamp the outline of my iris. I then used the layering stamp set to stamp my image. Lining it up was a bit of a challenge because some of the highlighted for the layering was small and clear on the stamp set. Once I had my image stamped I used the coordinating die set to cut my Iris out.

Next I decided to mount my Iris onto some yellow Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes paper. I cut the pattern paper with a Spellbinder Oval dies. I then decided I wanted to mat that layer with some black cardstock. The next bigger size in the Spellbinders Oval die set wast bigger than I wanted. I then went searching through my stash to find something that would work. I found an oval die in a Memory Box Stitched Oval die that would work and cut that from the black cardstock and cut that out.

I then decided to run the yellow pattern paper with my die cutting machine with the Memory Box pinpoint leaf plate metal die. I love the look it gives to the pattern paper.

Now to assemble the card. I started with some heavy weight cardstock cut scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I adhered the yellow patterned paper to the black oval layer with some liquid adhesive. Next I adhered the Iris to the yellow pattern paper with liquid adhesive. I then adhered the  oval layers to my card base with some foam tape.

I then decided to white heat emboss my sentiment on some black cardstock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the Bearded Iris. I used a small oval die from the Hero Arts Infinity Oval Dies to cut my sentiment. It was adhered to the oval layer with some liquid adhesive. I added some Honeybee Stamps little purple hearts from the Ultra Violet Sequins Mix under the sentiment.

I love how this card turned out. My mom and I both love iris so I'm glad to have this stamp set. But I do have some practicing to do.

Thanks so much for visiting today. I hope you come back soon.

Spellbinders Edgeabilities Dies and Bee Card

So I have a video for you today on using the Spellbinder Edgeabilities dies. These are new to me and I learned a couple of things so just thought I would share what I found out for anyone else who hasn't used these. I used the Spellbinder Edgeabilities Decorative Inserts and the Classic Edges Two set.
Now, here is a photo of the card I made and shared in the video.
As I said I used the Spellbinder Edgeabilities Decorative Inserts and the Classic Edges Two for the the bee border. My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" Yellow Core'denations card stock ( suspect Kim can special order this card stock for you). I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" mat and then a paper patterned mat from the My Minds Eye Howdy Doody 6" X 6" paper pack cut at 3 3/4" X 5". This paper already had a flower image in the upper left hand corner that worked perfectly with my bee. I cut the bee at 3 1/4" from the Garden Soup Cricut Cartidge (another item that Kim can likely special order for you.) I added my bee border and some black and white gingham ribbon to my card. Then used some foam tape to add my bee to my card and added some buttons from my stash with some glue dots. I am so pleased how this card turned out. Thanks for visiting.
