Christmas in July Challenge
Cardz TV is having a Christmas in July challenge. The challenge is to make a Christmas card and use an animal. This is what I came up with.
I started with a Kraft card stock base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. My patterned papers are some left over from a stack I got a couple of years ago. The red mat was cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and the green snowflake paper is cut at 3 3/4" X 5". I inked around the edges with some Tim Hotlz Tea Dye distress ink.
My little beaver is from the Winter Frolic Cricut Cartridge. I cut him at 3". I used some Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs ink to ink the beavers tail and stomach pieces. I added some white faux stitching to his hat and scarf and also around the edge of the green mat. My sentiment is from the Cardz TV home for Christmas stamp set and is stamped in some Rich Cocoa Memento Ink. I added a small button in the shape of tree that I threaded with a piece of twine. the beaver is attaqched to the card with some foam tape. Thanks for stopping by.

Treat Bags
I made this little snowman treat bags for my son to take to his co-workers. They are always playing gags on each other so we decided to make Snowman Poop bags. I filled the bags with a mix of white chocolate chips, yogurt covered raisins and yogurt covered peanuts. I cut the treat bag toppers using the Winter Frolic cartridge and one of the tags from that cartridge. These were resized on my Gypsy so I could cut them at 6" X 4 1/4" out of white card stock. The patterned paper is from the DCWV Christmas paper pack. I also used my Gypsy to resize these before cutting them. The snowman is also from the Winter Frolic cricut cartridge and was cut at 4". I used my Gypsy to hide the eyes, nose, and cheeks as I wanted to use my Peachy Keen Stamps on them as I had 20 of these to make. I colored the snowman's nose with an orange Bic Marker and added some pink rosy cheeks with a colored pencil. I printed out the little poem on my computer and inked the edges with Memento Summer Sky ink as well as the white layer of the snowman. There are several versions of the poem on the internet. The one I chose to use is:
I hear you've been naughty
so listen, hears the scoop
instead of coal this year
you're getting snowman poop.
I am submitting this project to the challenge on Paper Cutz Challenge blog. Thanks for stopping by.
