Let's Craft and Create Challenge #188 AG + The Colors of Fall

There is a new challenge over at Let's Craft and Create. Challenge #188 is Anything Goes with the option of The Colors of Fall (Use any or all of these colors - red, yellow, orange, brown). This is my project.

For my card I started off with some heavyweight white cardstock, cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. Next, I cut a piece of pattern paper to 4" X 5 1/4". My pattern paper is from an Echo Park Welcome Autumn 6" X 6" Mega Pad. I used a dark brown solid from the same paper pad and die cut it with Pink Fresh Studio's Geo Tiles coverplate die. I applied an adhesive sheet to the back of the paper before die cutting it so it was easier to adhere to my pattern paper. After I had those layered together, I attached them to my card base with liquid adhesive.

The leaves were cut from colored cardstock using an Autumn Leaves die set from Spellbinders. I heat embossed the word fall with some gold embossing powder and die cut it out using the matching dies from Honeybee Stamps. The word Greetings is from the same Honeybee stamp set and was also embossed in gold. I popped up my fall sentiment with foam tape. To finish the card, I added some gold pearls.

Now I hope you will pop on over to Let's Craft and Create to look at the inspiration provided by the rest of the Design Team and link up your project. We would love to have you join us.

Let's Craft and Create Challenge #175 AG Option Lots of Layers

It is hard to believe we are into the month of September, but we are. It also means it is time for a new challenge at Let's Craft and Create. The challenge this month is Anything Goes with the option of Lots of Layers.  Today I have a fall card for you.

For this card I started with some Simon Says Stamp Burnt Orange cardstock that I cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. Next I pulled out some pattern paper from the Echo Park Fall 6" X 6" paper pad.

Using the MFT A2 Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Dies I cut the orange gingham with the largest die. I then cut some of the burnt orange paper with the next smaller die. Finally I cut the leaf pattern paper with the third smaller die. I adhered the orange gingham pattern paper to my card base using liquid adhesive. I then adhered the leaf pattern paper to the burnt orange cardstock using liquid adhesive. I adhered this layer to my card base using some foam tape to pop it up.

Now comes the fun part. I took a piece of Canson XL Watercolor paper and cut it in forth so I had a manageable size to work with. I grabbed a box and put my paper in it. I then sprayed it with some Distress Oxide sprays. I used Wild Honey, Festive Berries, Crackling Campfire, and Ripe Persimmon. This was the first time I used these and I was amazed how much they dried back and lightened, especially when I sprayed them with water. I did do several layers then dried it. Next I pulled out the new Tim Holtz Ranger Mica Stains. I sprayed my paper with the Jack O Lantern and Flickering Candle. I then dried the paper again with my heat tool. The sparkle is amazing in real life. It was hard to catch on camera.

Next I took most of the leaf dies from the Tim Holtz Fall Foilage Thinlit Dies and cut the leaves from the background I made. To make the leaves stand out a bit more I took some Fossilized Amber, Barn Door, and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide inks and a small blending brush and went around some of the edges of the leaves and also added a bit of color to the middle of some of them.

I then added some small pieces of foam tape to the back of my leaves. I arranged them in the center of my leaf pattern paper adhering them as I went.

For my sentiment I used the Honeybee Stamps Fall Honeycuts die to cut out my word Fall. I cut the top layer from some red pattern paper from the Echo Park Fall 6"X6" paper pad. I cut the shadow from vellum. I adhered the sentiment together with liquid adhesive.

I adhered the word Fall to the center of my leaves with some liquid adhesive.  I then stamped the word slendor on a scrap of the burnt orange cardstock using some Versamark watermark  ink. I added some Antique Gold Simon Says Stamp Ultra Fine embossing powder. I melted that with my heat gun.  I then attached the sentiment strip with some foam tape and added it to my card under the word Fall.

To finish the card I added some Honeybee Stamps Celebration Confetti. I used some of the orange and gold Confetti.

Now it's your turn. Pop on over to Let's Craft and Create and play along with us. It's a lot of fun. Hope to see you there.

Happy Fall

Wow! Can you believe September is over and we are into October already!?!?!?! I know I sure can't.

It is also time for another 3D challenge over at CardzTV.  The new challenge is to make a Home Decor project for Fall.  This is what I came up with.

I had a lot of fun making this project and used my Explore to cut out the letters for Fall.  I cut the shadow 3 times for each letter and the top layer 3 times to give the letters better thickness, more like chipboard.  I glues the letters to some burlap banners I cut and attached them to some jute with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher.  To cover the staples I found some wooden dots.  I hot glued the banner on top of the foliage I added.

I stamped Happy Fall Ya'll from the Thankful for You stamp set. Now it is your turn to show us your home decor projects and a chance to win a set of CardzTV stamps.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Well the 3d CardzTV Designers are back with our first challenge of the fall.  This weeks challenge is to make a 3D Fall Card.  This is what I came up with.

My card is a Double Dutch fold card.  You start with a piece of cards stock 4 3/16" X 9".  You score this piece of card stock at 5 1/2" that makes the top fold of the card.  You also need a piece of card stock 2" x 8 1/2".  This is scored at 2 1/8" and 6 3/8".  Attach the smaller piece of card stock to the back of the lower edge of the bigger piece.  The two flaps fold over to the front similar to a gate fold card.

My card base is made from Kraft card stock. To cover the larger flap up top you need a piece of card stock cut at 4" x 3 1/4".  I used a rusty orange piece of card stock from my stash.  I also cut little pieces to cover the flaps.  I cut mine at 1 7/8" X 1 7/8".  I embossed all to cover pieces with a Darice embossing folder called Autumn Leaves.  It is really a pretty embossing folder. Once I embossed the pieces I sprayed them lightly with some Tattered Angels Sugar Maple glimmer mist and let dry.

Next I cut my little scarecrow from the Simply Charms cartridge at 2 3/4".  I attached him with an action wobble so he can wave hello to everyone.  My sentiment is from the Thankful for You Cardztv Stamp set.  I cut the sentiment into 3 pieces so I could stamp it on Kraft cardstock to get the results I wanted.

Now that you've seen my card hop on over to the CardzTV blog and check out all the other designers projects.  Then get you project entered for a chance to win a set of CardzTV stamps.

It's Fall

Wow! Can you believe how quickly September has come and gone??? I sure can't. In honor of the arrival of Fall I made this card.

My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". The card base and the mat paper are both from the Recollections Spice Market collection. I cut the rust colored mat at 4" X 5 1/4". My patterned paper is from K & Co and is cut at 3 3/4" X 5". My leaves were cut with the Tim Holtz Tattered Leaves die out of an aluminum sheet using my eBosser. I used some Alcohol ink and a sponge dabber to color my leaves using Latte, Ginger, Carmel, Lettuce and Cranberry inks. My sentiment is stamped in Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.
