All Occasion Card

I recently signed up for Kim's 6 X 6" paper pad club and received this gorgeous Authentic paper pad called Remembrance. It is  filled with lots of dark deep purples and light lavenders and greens. I absolutely love it!!
So today I have a card I made using several papers from that paper pad. In fact the only paper not from the pad, is the white card stock card base. I hope you love it as much as I do. I started with a white card base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I then cut a dark purple mat also 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" and adhered it to my card. I wanted the dark purple to show but not the white card base. I then picked 4 patterned papers from the pack and cut them at 2 1/2" x 1 7/8" and adhered them to my purple mat. I used my ATG gun to adhere the mats down. I was browsing through the silhouette store and came across this lacy butterfly and flower cut out which I fell in love with. Of course I had to use it for my card. I cut the top layer out of more of the dark purple paper from the paper pad. The cut did not come with a back layer so I used the offset feature in the software to create a back layer which I cut out of white card stock. I used my Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere these two layers together. I allowed it try and then sprayed it lightly with some Iridescent Glitter Dust. (Another favorite product of mine!). I had this little wooden butterfly in my stash so I painted it with some Seedless Preserves Distress Stain. (This is a special order item, contact Kim through the store customer service link for information on how to order). Once that dry I spritzed it with some Lavender Fresh Glitter Mist spray. I attached the circle to the center of my card using some foam pads I received from Kim as a gift for being in her Adhesive club. (That was an awesome club to be a part of. Be sure to sign up for the Cutters Creek Yahoo group to get the inside scoop on the clubs.) I used some small glue dots to attach my butterfly to the circle. I haven't added a sentiment to my card because I think it could be used for many different occasions, like Birthday, Thinking of You, Get Well, or even a Sympathy card.

School Rules!!

After a few weeks off for summer vacation, the Cardz-TV Go to Gals are back! (Like our new name???) Mary has divided her Design Team into two separate teams, the Go-to Galz Challenge team, (that's me) and the Go-to Galz Linky Party team. We’ll be rotating every other week, so each week on Cardz TV, you’ll have a chance to enter our challenge, or link up to our linky party! We’re really excited about this new format, and hope you’ll play along! As always, we’ll use random.org to pick a winner for each challenge or linky party, for Cardz TV Stamps and lots of other fun prizes! The Cardz TV Go-To Galz have been really creative in choosing their challenge, and linky party themes, SO…are you ready for some fun?

The new challenge is to make a Back-to-School project. This is what I came up with.

My card is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock base. I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and my patterned paper cut at 3 3/4" X 5". I found the cute chalkboard in the Silhouette store, it was a print and cut file. I cut that and adhered it to my card. My sentiment is from the School Days card set.

To finish my card I added 3 small black buttons threaded with some red and white bakers twine. Now be sure to join in the challenge over at CardzTV for a chance to win one of Mary's awesome stamp sets.

Christmas in July Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Cutters Creek Christmas in July Blog Hop!  If you came from Kim's blog you are in the right place, if not and you would like to start at the beginning please jump to the Cutters Creek Design Team blog.

We have some great projects in store for you today to provide you plenty of inspiration to help you jump start your holiday crafting. So grab your favorite beverage, sit back and relax, and get ready for some fun, inspiration, and the chance to win some blog candy too!

I have a fun Advent Calendar for you today.

I started with a wooden 12 X 12 frame I found on clearance and spray painted it red. I then sprayed it with some Gold Glitter Dust spray.

Next I took a 12 X 12 square piece of metal that I found in my local craft store and covered it with some paper. I happened to have a piece of scrapbook paper that was actually made to make an advent calendar with so I used that, but you could use just about any patterned paper you wanted. I used Glue N Seal to adhere the paper to the metal piece, I then added a coat of Glue N Seal to the top of the paper to seal it.

Next I used my Silhouette and the print and cut feature to print out 25 different round Christmas themed tags at approximately 3/4".

I used some Glossy Accents to adhere small magnets to the backs of each of my little tins. I also used Glossy Accents to adhere the small tags to the insides of my tins. To decorate the frame I cut some small square images out of an older Graphic 45 8 X 8 paper pad, Christmas Emporium and using my trusty Glue N Seal adhere them to the frame, and again I added a top layer of Glue n Seal to seal the paper. (If you would like this paper pad, check with Kim to see if she can still order it).

I cut some numbers at 1/2" out of some black vinyl and adhered them to each of the lids to the tins. They are a little hard to see in the photo but I wanted the tag inside to show through. My plan is to fill each tin with a little piece of candy. I want the tag to be a surprise after they open it up and take out the candy each day.

Finally I cut the banner for the top at approximately 10" wide, again using my Silhouette and an image from the Silhouette store. I used my Scotch Quick Dry adhesive to adhere the banner together and used Glossy Accents to adhere it to the front of my Frame.

To hang my calendar I have some of the Tim Holtz Seasonal Ribbon attached to the back. I lightly tacked it with more Glossy Accents, but I want to use the staple gun to staple it to the frame. Unfortunately I can't get to the staple gun to do that so I didn't want to hang it. (Again, this item is not in stock in the store but check with Kim to see if she can order it).

I would love to hear what you think of the Calendar. Thanks for visiting me today and enjoying our blog hop. As a thank you for enjoying our hop, we have some awesome blog candy for you.

To be eligible for the blog candy, we would love for you to follow us and leave a comment on all the blogs along the way. We will use Random.org to select a winner. The winner will be posted on the Cutters Creek Design Team blog on Monday July 15th. Your next stop is Fran.

Here is the complete blog hop line up in case you get lost along the way.

New Goodies, New Card

I received some new goodies from Kim the other day and OF course I had to play a little this weekend. This is what I made.
I started with some green card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" portrait card base. I add a yellow mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" then I added another green mat cut at 3 3/4" X 5". I then cut another piece of yellow card stock at 3 1/2" X 3 1/2 and ran it through my eBosser and embossed it with my new Anna Griffin Matelassé embossing folder. (I love this one, and Kim can and will order if for you, just ask her. You can contact Kim through the store site here.) I adhered all my layers together with my ATG gun. After I adhere the embossed yellow mat, I added a piece of Washi Tape to the base as a border. (OK, I admit, this is my free gift from Kim at the end of the club, but she can likely order this too.) Next I stamped a small piece of card stock cut to 2" X 2" with my flower image with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. I colored my flower image with some chalk. I then went back and using a blue water colored pencil to add a bit of shading. I blended everything together with my Dove blending pen. I matted my image on another piece of green card stock cut to 2 1/4" 2 1/4" and adhered it to my card front with some Kool Tak clear foam squares. Finally I added my sentiment using some VersaMark embossing ink and the new Saraha WOW! Embossing Powder I just received from Kim. The new Desert Sand Limited Edition set. LOVE IT!!! So sparkly.  Okay, so now confession time, I really had bad luck and did not enjoy using embossing powders on my projects until Kim started selling the WOW! embossing powders. The others I tried to use just didn't melt and give me the results I expected. The WOW! embossing powders melt beautifully. If you haven't tried them yet, you should, you won't regret it. I would love to know what you think of my project and this embossing folder. I think it is beautiful and am so excited that I now own it.
