Thank You Basket

I carpool to work with two other co-workers. Recently my son has had to use my car so Korene has had do extra turns at driving. So as a thank you to her I made her this little Thank You Basket. I bought the basket at the dollar store (two baskets for $1). I also bought a small votive candle holder to put in the middle of the basket. I filled the basket and the candle holder with M & M's. I cut the flowers from the Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge. I used the Daisy flower and cut them at 2 1/2" along with their shadow. I used some paper I had on hand to cut the flowers and yellow and purple card stock to cut the shadows. I adhered the flowers to Pixie Stix that I got at the dollar store as well. I cut a tag at 3" using the Gypsy Wandering font. Thanks was cut from the Wild Card Cartridge at 2 3/4" using some scraps of paper I had on hand. I also lightly inked the edges of tag using some Rosebud Memento ink. The pink ribbon I used for the bow is also from the dollar store. I will be giving it to her tomorrow and I am sure she will love it. Thanks for looking.

My Favorite Color

I made this card for a challenge on the My Pink Stamper blog. A lot of folks including her are snowed and iced in this weekend. So Robyn has posted a couple of challenges on her blog. This card is for the first one. The challenge was to use your favorite color and black and make a project. Purple is one of my favorite colors so I decided to use that. My card base is 4 1/2" X 6 and is some purple bazzill card stock I had on hand. The black mat is cut at 4 1/4" X 5 3/4" and is Die Cuts With A View card stock. The green patterned paper is from a K & Company super pack that I got at Joann's this morning and is cut at 4" x 5 1/2".  I used A Child's Year Cricut cartridge to cut the little girl with the umbrella. I chose that cut because it went with the kind of weather we are having here today. I cut the girl and the shadow at 3". The Just a Note is cut at 2' and is from the Wild Card Cricut cartridge. Since the phrases don't have a shadow feature I just cut the phrase twice and offset it slightly to give a shadow effect. The flowers are Prima flowers that I held together with flower shaped brade and the ribbon is some I bought at Michaels. I used foam tape to adhere the girl and the phrase and a glue dot to adhere the flower.

Valentines Day Treat Box

I found some brightly colored Jordan Almonds at the store today. My mom loves them so of course I had to buy some. I decided to make a little treat box to put them in for her. I used the box on the new Cricut Love Struck mini cartridge. I cut the box at 8" which made a 5" box when folded. The paper I used was some double sided K & Company Valentine paper I got in a paper pack from Michaels a while back. I layed out the box on my Gypsy. I then added a 2nd mat page to my file and did a layer of two simple hearts also from the Love Struck cartridge. The larger heart is 2.66" and the smaller heart is 1.73". I then welded them together and cut them out of some plain white cardstock. I embossed the white heart with the Swiss Dots cuttlebug folder. I inked around the edges of the heart with some Rosebud Memento ink. I cut a 3" x 3" square of clear acetate to place over the heart cut out on the box. I used some Beacons 3-in-1 glue to attach the embossed heart to the front of the box over the heart cut out.

I scored all the score lines on the box using my Scor-Pal (love it!). I used Scor-tape on the side flap to make sure the box didn't come apart. I also placed a small piece of Score-tape along the bottom flap as well because the almonds I was putting in the box have a little weight to them and I didn't want the bottom of the box falling out. Once I put the almonds in the box I closed it up and added some ribbon tied in a bow. The ribbon is by American Crafts and I got it at Craft Warehouse.

I am sure my Mom will love the box. She gets it Monday.  Thanks for looking.

Baby Shower Card

We are having a baby shower for a Co-worker next week and I was asked to make a card. Her layette set is Tall Tales by Carter so I used that for inspiration. Tall Tales is dark brown with circles of aqua, orange, and blue with a giraffe on it.  I used the giraffe from the Paisley cartridge. I cut two of the giraffes, one at 3" and a smaller one at 2". I used some pumpkin colored card stock for the 1st layer. The dotted paper is from Michael's. The chocolate brown is by Die Cuts With A View that I bought at Joann's and the cream colored card stock is just from my stash. The card is 8 1/2" X 5 1/2". I used cream colored card stock for the card,  and cream for the layers. I embossed the cream colored card stock with the Cuttlebug Bloom Dot A2 embossing folder. The word baby is cut from Gypsy Wanderings at 1 1/4". I used pop dots for the giraffe's and the word paper to give the card some added dimension. Thanks for looking.

Paisley Valentine Card

Here is a quick card I made using the Paisley Cricut Cartridge. I laid everything out on my gypsy before cutting.  The frog and layers were all cut at 3". The card is 4 1/2" x 6". The frog paper is from K & Company and is a single sheet I picked up a my LSS and is cut at 4 1/4" X 5 3/4".  All the frog layers were cut from scraps of paper I had on hand.  I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut the tags from page 98 of the manual. They are .75" X 3" and I used both the tag and the shadow. The sentiment is a stamp I picked up at my local craft store. For an additional whimsical look I added some googly eyes that I bought from the Dollar Store. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Cupcake

Here is a cupcake birthday card I made for a co-worker who is having a birthday next week. The cupcake and cherry are from the Home Decor cartridge and are cut at 3". I also cut the shadow at 3" using a brown card stock. The cupcake is cut from some Stampin Up patterned poka-dot paper and the cherry is cut on a scrap piece of hot pink paper. I used Crystal and Icicle Stickles to bling up the cupcake poka-dots and the cherry. The Birthday Wishes stamp is a clear stamp I had. I stamped in in Staz-on black in and put three little Skittles above the stamped image, I felt it needed something. The card is a standard A2 card made out of some white card stock, again that I had on had. The patterned background paper is from Die Cuts With a View paper pack and is also a scrap. I adhered the cupcake and cherry with some foam tape to pop it up from the card. I love the bright cheery colors and am pleased how it turned out.

This is the second card I made where I using my Gypsy, which I love. I am trying to get as much creative time in before I go back to work on Monday. I am about to enter my busy time of year at work so want to take advantage of this slower time now. Hope everyone had a great New Years. Thanks for looking.

Here She Is...My Gypsy!

Here is my Gypsy. I got it on Monday and love it. I haven't made a lot with it yet but have spent a lot of time getting to know her and following along on YouTube videos learning how to use her. I love how small she is. Since I don't have a lot of crafting space it is nice not having to have all my cartridges out and have my laptop on my table if I am using Design Studio. I have played around and welded a couple of things for Valentines Day but haven't done anything with them yet. I will. I had to take my husband to Urgent Care this morning. Nothing serious he has a strained and pulled muscle in his arm. It has been bothering him for a couple of days but as a typical guy (sorry!) he wouldn't go to the doctor. This morning he woke up and could hardly move it, it was too sore. So I made him go. Anyway I said all that because I took my Gypsy with you and worked on laying out a couple of cards. Haven't had a chance to cut them out yet. I guess you can tell I am excited about the Gypsy. I am going to be having so much fun! Too bad I have to go back to work on Monday.
