When Life Gives You Lemons

I found this stamp in the dollar section at Joanns and had to have it. Here is a card I put together to use the stamp. The lemon is from the Cricut Preserves cartridge and was cut at 2" the Glass is From My Kitchen cartridge. I cut the glass twice once out of white card stock and once from acetate. I used the real dial size button on my Gypsy to cut this as this is sized to go on a recipe card tab. I cut the glass at 3", I then resized the glass to be wider and shorter to cut the Lemonade in the glass. I took a straw and cut it down to fit the glass, glued it to the white glass, then put the "lemonade" over it then ran the acetate cut of the glass through my Xyron sticker maker and adhered it over everything. I wanted the glass to have a glass look. The ribbon is some I had on hand that I got at Michael's. I inked the edges of the lemon, card and glass items with some sunshine yellow memento ink. The card is 4 1/2" X 6". The yellow mat was cut 1/8' of an inch smaller and the white mat was cut another 1/8" of an inch smaller in height and 1" smaller in width. I ran the white mat through my cuttlebug and used the three dots folder to emboss it. I also used an EK Success border punch to give the white mat a nice scalloped border. I used foam tape to pop up the lemon and the glass.

Butterfly Kisses

Here is a quick card I made yesterday using the Straight From the Nest cartridge and Graphically Speaking. The card is 4 1/2" X 6" I cut the phrase out using the Straight From the Nest cartridge at 1 1/2" .I cut the base, layer and shadow features. The butterflies in the little squares were cut at 1 1/4" from Graphically Speaking. I added some stickles to the butterflies to make them sparkle. The patterned paper is from the DCWV Stack 6 paper stack, the pink and blue are Core'denations paper.

Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card I made for my mom for her birthday this week. I used an oval shape from the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge welded it to make the card. I then used the same shape, re-sized it twice to create the two layers. The cupcake is from the Sweet Treats. The main card is cut at 5 1/2" the layers were cut at 5 and 4 1/2". I added some lace around the outside edge of the first layer. The cupcake and its layers are cut at 3". The patterned paper is from the Best of K & Company paper pack. I embossed the top of the cupcake with the swirls Cuttlebug folder. I added some liquid applique and heated it to give the look of frosting and added a little cotton candy stickles and a purple glitter brad instead of the cherry on the cupcake. It was a lot of fun to make. Thanks for looking.

Dressed up Expression!

The Gypsy Challenge this week on the Cricut Messageboard was to use the kerning feature on the gypsy. This was hard one for me as I usually make cards and wanted to do something a little different. So, I decided to dress up my Cricut Expression a bit. I kerned the word Creation at 0.2 and the word Station 0.4. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the words. This is my first real project with vinyl and using the transfer tape. I did not get the words on as straight as I had hoped but not bad. I then cut a couple of flourishes from Straight From the Nest cartridge for the back of the Expression. It was actually a pretty fast project. I may still do a little more to the front when I have a chance.

Happy Easter and Create-a-Critter

First, I just want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Hope you all have a great day!

I received the Create-a-Critter Cricut Cartridge earlier this week and was anxious to try it out so I decided to make an Easter Card. The bunny on the card is from the Create-a-Critter cartridge and cut at 3". I cut all the layers. This cartridge is so easy to layer, no little pieces like some of the cartridges. The Happy Easter is cut at 1 1/4' and is from the Easter 2010 Mini Cartridge. The little basket carried by the bunny is from Doodlecharms and was re-sized so the Easter Bunny could carry it. The little eggs in the basket are some leftover stickers from our egg dying kit. Thanks for looking.
