Birthday Card
One of my co-workers is having a birthday next week and I wanted to make him a card. This is what I came up with.
I started with a 5" X 7" white card base. I used some patterned paper from the Echo Park This and That Graceful 6" X 6" paper pack and cut it down to 4 3/4" X3 3/4". I also used a piece of card stock from the new Core' denations Cut and Emboss 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I love this paper. There are 10 colors and 40 sheets in back and because of the size they are perfect for card making. I chose a color from the Chocolate Box set and embossed it with my Cuttlebug and the Happy Birthday folder. I lightly sanded it so the teal blue color would show through. I though it looked great with the patterned paper I chose. I cut this embossed paper down to 4 3/4" in height so it fit my card. I then added a blue strip of paper where the two different papers met and while it doesn't show up well in the photo I used a birthday party hat stamp and some versamark and stamped the hat down the blue strip of paper. I used the Smiley Card cartridge on my gypsy and the Emoticons creative feature keys to cut my image. Because my card if or a man I didn't want to bling it up too much but it just needed a little something, so I added some of the Diamond Ice Stickles I just got to the pompom. Finally I attached my little guy to my card from with some foam dots. I think he turned out cute. Thanks for visiting.
