Kaisercraft Memo Box- By Deanna M

My project for you today is a Memo Box that Kim at Cutter’s Creek special ordered for me. I love it.
When you get the Memo Box it looks like this.

You get the memo pad and the box but it is raw wood so it needs to be finished.
My first step was to decide how I wanted to finish it. I picked these two pattern papers for the My Minds Eye Howdy Doody 6” X 6” paper pack. Then I had to decide what color to paint the wood, I went with an aqua. After painting and allowing it to dry I cut my papers. The narrow outside pieces on the sides were cut at 3/4” X 3” and the front piece was cut at 3/4” X 3 1/2”.  I used some Mod Podge to adhere my papers to my painted pieces. The Ranger Glue and Seal would work well for this.

I used an exacto knife to cut out the detail cuts on the back and the thumb hole for the paper. I then filed these down and applied one last coat of Mod Podge. I also used some Aloha Green Glimmer Glaze on the edges of the Memo Box, it matched perfectly to the Aqua paint I chose and it added just a hint of glimmer and shine to the edges of my project. Glimmer Glaze is a special order item at Cutter’s Creek but Kim is happy to order it for you, just ask!
Finally I used some wood glue to and applied some glue to the wooden tabs and inserted them into the slots on the base, allowed my project to dry and it was done.

Kim can special order the Kaisercraft items that many of you see on the Kaisercraft Workshop magazines she sends out with your orders, just ask.
