Sending My Love

Today, I have a fun Valentines Day Card for you using the Smooches Coverplate Die and the separate Smooches/Lips die that comes with the coverplate die. The coverplate die is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" so it will cover your front of your A2 card base.

To make my card I started with some heavy weight white cardstock. I then took another piece of white cardstock a little bigger than my card front. I used the Tim Holtz Peppermint Stick Mica Spray to spray my cardstock. I dried it between layers and did two layers. It doesn't show well in the photo but it is really shimmery. After letting it dry I ran it through my die cutting machine with the Smooches Coverplate Die. While waiting for the Peppermint Stick layer to dry. I cut another piece of white cardstock and sprayed it with some clear shimmer spray from my stash. I did two layers of the shimmer spray. I used a scrap of the white and red shimmer cardstock to cut the lips using the separate die. I then took another scrap of cardstock and glued the red outline to the cardstock. I then inlaid the white lips into the red outline. I then cut the base layer just inside the top layer. I used some liquid adhesive to attach the white shimmer cardstock to the back of the red shimmer cardstock.

Next came the sentiment. I used the new Sending My Love die from Kat Scrappiness. I love their word dies because they include the shadow die as well as the main sentiment. For my card I cut the shadow from some vellum. I took a scrap of white cardstock and sprayed it with both the clear shimmer spray and the peppermint stick mica spray. It has a nice shimmer and is a pink color. I die cut the sentiment from this once dry. I used liquid adhesive to attach the sentiment to the vellum shadow. I then attached it to my card again using liquid adhesive. I attached the lips to my card front below the sentiment with some foam squares.

To finish my card I added some glitter red sequins from the Holiday Bliss Mix at Kat Scrappiness.

I hope you will head over to  Kat Scrappiness and check out their Valentine Release. Be sure to head over to their blog by January 7th to enter for a chance to win their giveaway.
