Let's Craft and Create Challenge # 173 AG Option Punch It!

It's that time again for a new challenge over at Let's Craft and Create. The new challenge is Anything Goes PUNCH IT! - (Use a hand punch and/or die).  I don't own a lot of punches so this one was a bit of a challenge for me. So I took to Pinterest for some inspiration. This is what I came up with.

I started with some heavyweight white card stock that I cut, scored and folded to make a 41/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I cut a mat using some yellow gold colored pattern paper from the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes 6" X 6" paper pad. I cut it to 4 1/8" X 5 3/8".

I then cut down a piece of weight card stock to 4" X 5 1/4". I also cut my patterned paper down to 4" X 5 1/4". The pattern paper is from the Bo Bunny You're Invited 6" X 6" paper pad. Next I took a wild leap of faith and put my white card stock in my paper trimmer at a bit of a diagonal and eye balling it cut my card stock. It was the perfect size. I then used my white card stock as a bit of a template to cut my pattern paper at just the right angle. It worked!

Next came the important decision of which of my punches I wanted to use. I decided on this scalloped punch from EK Success.  After punching it I laid everything out on my card. I decided I did not like the look with the pattern paper showing through the openings. I had a scrap of the watercolor wishes left so I adhered that behind the scallops then cut off the excess. I liked that much better.

Finally it was time to start adhering everything. I used some liquid adhesive to adhere my pattern paper to the yellow paper. Next I used some foam tape to adhere my white card stock to the yellow paper. Now time for a sentiment. I decided on this Thanks die from Simon Says Stamp. I cut the shadow out of black and the top layer out of white card stock. I adhered them together with some liquid glue. I then adhered it to my card front also with some liquid glue.

My sub sentiment came from the Reverse Confetti So Many Sentiments stamp set. I used Versamark Ink to stamp it on some black card stock. I added some Simon Says Stamp Detail White Embossing powder to it and heat set that. I then used a MFT Oval Word Die to cut out my sentiment.

I added some yellow sequins to the scallops using sequins from a Simon Says Stamp Pineapple Sequins mix. I then adhered my card front to my card base using liquid adhesive.

Now it is your turn. Head over to  Let's Craft and Create and enter your creation into the challenge for a chance to win a prize.
