Let the Good Times Roll

I was looking through my stamps the other day and saw this sentiment and this card design just popped into my head.  Of course I had to make a card right away..

I thought this would make a perfect masculine birthday card, don't you think?????

My card base is white card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card.  I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then my patterned paper cut at 3 3/4" X 5".  My dice were cut using my Cricut Explore.  The dice are from the Vegas cartridge that is available in Cricut Design Space as part of the subscription. I embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder on black card stock  All images on the card are adhere directly to the card, nothing was put on foam tape. 

This was a very quick and easy card to put together.  I hope you like it.

Relax - Sunny Day Crafting Challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Sunny Day Crafting.  The project is based on this photo.

To me this image said vacation to me which makes me think of a warm tropical beach somewhere.

For my card I started with a piece of watercolor card stock cut at 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  I decided to create a sunset background for my palm trees.  I used mustard seed, ripe persimmon, and rusty hinge Distress Ink to create my sunset background. for the sand that the palm trees are sitting on, I used my Antique Linen Distress Crayon and a water brush.  Once I had the background where I wanted it, I adhered my palm tree border to my card base. The tree's were cut at 5" using my Cricut Explore.  To finish my card I stamped my sentiment with some Memento Tuxedo black ink and attached the watercolor paper to my orange card stock card base.  Thanks for stopping by.

Teacher-Thanks so Much

It's time for another 3D Challenge over at CardzTV.  The new challenge is to make a treat bag or box for a teacher.  This is what I came up with.

I started with the Apple Box SVG file from My Scrap Chick and cut out and assembled the apple box. I cut the box using my Brother Scan and Cut. Next I added some flowers also an SVG file, this one from Digiplayground.  I used my Cricut Explore to cut the flowers.  The flowers were cut from white card stock and inked with some Spun Sugar Distress Ink. The flower centers were cut from light pink card stock.  I assembled the flowers and added them to my box. Finally I stamped my Ticket from the CardzTV Ticket Talk 2 stamp set.  I scanned the ticket with my Brother Scan and Cut and let the machine cut the ticket out for me. Love that feature.  Once the ticket was cut out, I stamped the sentiment and attached it to my box

Keep on Keeping on

I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season, I know I did.  I have a friend going through a rough time so I decided to make her a card.  This is what I came up with.

I decided to use bright colors to help cheer her up.  My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  I added an orange mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then my patterned paper mat cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".

I found the image on the Cricut Essentials cartridge that I have access to through my Design Space subscription and my Cricut Explore.  I cut this flower out at 3 3/4".  I stamped the flower with the Lets Face It CardzTV stamp set.  I also added a border that was cut with a Martha Stewart border punch.  I used that border to stamp my sentiment with some Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The sentiment is from the Mixed Messages  CardzTV stamp set.

The fun thing about this card is I attached to flower to the card with an action wobble so it moves.  I think it turned out super cute. What do you think?

Born to Ride

My son's 25th birthday is on Monday. He loves riding his quad so I used and image from the Dude! Lite Cartridge to make him this card.


































Working with my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space I started with the image from the cartridge and first recolored it so the quad was red like his.  I then added the 25 to both sides of the back bumper.. I sized the quad to 3 1/2" and then flattened it to make it a print and cut image.

For my card I started with a Kraft card stock base cut and folded to make an A2 card.  I then added a black mat, red mat, and the patterned paper.  I attached the ATV to my card with foam tape.  I stamped my sentiments on more Kraft card stock and cut them out.  The Enjoy is attached to the card with a paper fastener from 7 Gypsy.

Summertime

As August march's forward toward September and Fall, I just wanted to make a card to celebrate summer. 

I started with a white card base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I added a green mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4 and then the bright yellow polka dot mat cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".

Using the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge and my Cricut Explore I cut the mat for my image at 3 3/4".  I ran the white layer through the 3 dots Sizzix embossing folder.  My Violets are from a Memory Box die.  I cut the stems and leaves out of the same green as the mat.  The flowers themselves were die cut from mid purple colored card stock  I used my Wink of Stella clear been to give the flowers some shimmer and used some Cantaloupe Liquid Pearls to add the center to my flowers.  The flowers are glued directly to the mat and the mat is attached with foam tape to the card base.

100% Country - CardzTV Anything Goes Blog Hop

Howdy everyone.  Hope you are enjoy the blog hop so far.  If you came from Tonya's blog then you are headed in the right direction, if you just wander here and would like to enjoy the entire blog hop along with all it's blog candy then please go to Mary's blog to start the hop.

I had so much fun designing my project and I sure hope you like it too.

I decided to make an easel card but instead of doing the typical portrait style card, I would make mine landscape. 

Here is a quick video that shows you how I added all the different elements to my barn.

 

I started with Kraft card stock cut at 5 1/2" X 8 1/2".  I scored the card stock at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8".  I then cut another piece of Kraft card stock 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" for the front of my card.  Next I cut a piece of patterned paper 4" X 5 1/4" and attached to the card front.  Now came the fun part.

I started with the barn from the County Fair cartridge and sized it to 4.4" and 3.75". Once it was sized where I wanted it I flattened the image in Cricut Design Space so it would become a print and cut image.  Next I added the baby chick also from the County Fair cartridge. I just but him up in the hayloft window and using the sizing handles sized him down to fit within the opening. Once the chick was sized I grouped it with the barn and flattened it. 

Next I went to the Country Life cartridge and found the cute little pig with the chicken on top.  I inserted the image to my made and once again using the sizing handles sized it down to where I thought it looked good and again grouped it with the barn and then flattened it.  The water pump is also from the Country life cartridge and I also sized it, grouped it and flattened it.  Now all the images were one single print and cut file.

Next I needed something to put inside the card to create the stop for the Easel Card.  I found the ticket on the County Fair cartridge and using the Brand images I selected the two layers, colored them the colors I wanted and flattened them together. The finished ticket is sized 2.89" X 1.76".

All of my cuts were designed in Cricut Design Space and cut with my Cricut Explore.

Now I was ready to print and cut my two images which I did.  I attached the barn to the card front with some foam tape to give it some added dimension.  Next I adhered the card front base to the main card applying adhesive only to the small 2 1/8" X  5 1/4' section of the card front.

Next I stamped my sentiments using Memento Rich Cocoa ink and attached the ticket to the inside of the card again with some foam tape.

Both of my sentiments are from the CardzTV Country at Heart stamp set.

Birthday Card

My mom's birthday is Friday. I know Iris are one of her favorite flowers.  I found this print and cut image in the Cricut Design Space under Vintage Floral.  I had to buy this cartridge as it was not included with the subscription. This image is a print and cut image. I cut my image at 4"

I started with white card stock cut and folded to may a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4".  I then cut a purple mat 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".  I embossed the purple mat using my eBosser and the Camille Lace embossing folder. I adhered the purple mat to the black mat and adhered my image using foam tape to the purple mat.  I added a sheer ribbon to the card and then attached the black mat and its layers to the white card base.

I used a Poppystamps banner die to cut my tag for my sentiment and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I used foam tape to adhere it to the front of my card.

I think she will love it.  I plan to make lunch and take it to her and I am hoping to take Aiden my grandson too. But, shhhhhhh. . . It is supposed to be a surprise.

Butterfly Kisses

It is time for a new 3D Challenge over at CardzTV  T-his weeks challenge is to create a 3D project using flowers.  I had a lot of fun with this one and hope you do too.  Here is my project.

I found these daisies in the Silhouette store.  They were designed with just two cuts, the flower and the center.  They way they were intended to be put together was to put a straw through the holes.  However wouldn't you know it, my straws were just a tiny bit two small. SO I had to improvise.

I cut one end of the straw down both sides about 1/2" and spread the straw apart and pushed down on the ends so they were flat.  I used some glossy accents to attach my straw to the yellow center with the hole in it.  Now I had to figure out how to cover the holes.  The yellow centers were cut at 1 3/4".  So I used a 1 1/2" scalloped punch to punch a scallop out of this bright pink color. Then I used a 1 1/4" circle punch to punch another yellow circle. Finally I stamped this second yellow circle with a Peachy Keen stamp face. I used the 1" size stamp and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Using my white gel pen I added some freckles to the pink cheeks.  The pink cheeks were add with a rose colored Prima Watercolor pencil and blended with a Dove blending pen.

Next I cut out this cut butterfly from the Create a Critter cartridge.  I used my Explore and Design Space to  flatten the butterfly so I could do a print and cut on it.  I cut the butterfly out at 2".  I added some Raspberry Stickles to the dark pink areas on the butterfly's wings and some Lime green stickles on the very end of his antenna's.  Once the stickles was dry I glued the butterfly to a straw. 

I found this little biodegradable pot at my craft store and thought it would be perfect for this project.. I added some floral oasis inside the pot to hold my flowers. I bent each straw slightly so that you could see the flowers cute faces.  I added some leftover green Easter grass to cover the oasis.  Next I put my butterfly in the center of the pot.  For my sentiment I used some white and pink butterfly Washi Tape and some Staz-on black ink I stamped my sentiment unto the Washi tape and the carefully wrapped it around a straw.  I cut the end of the tape to make it look like a flag.  My sentiment is from the Think Spring CardzTv Stamp Set.

It is Officially SPRING!

With spring officially here, I decided it was time to make up some cards to celebrate Spring!  I found some images I wanted to cut, and flattened them so I could do a print and cut.  I printed the images twice, once on the sticky paper that came with my Cricut Explore and then again on regular card stock..

I placed the image printed on the sticky paper down flat on my card fronts. I then added the 2nd layer with some foam tape to add dimension to the cuts.  The papers are all from my stash. 

All the cards are 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I have lots of birthdays in the spring between April 1 and the end of May so these will be perfect to send off with a quick Happy Birthday note inside.

Thank You Shaker Card

As some of you may know I recently retired from my job after30 years of employment.   This is the Thank  You card I made to send to my former co-workers to thank them for an awesome retirement party.

My card base is yellow card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I then cut a light gray mat at 4" X 5 1/4" and then my green mat cut at 3 7/8 X 5 1/8".  I ran the green mat through my eBosser and embossed it with the Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing folder.  I also embossed a piece of 1" gray card stock with the border embossing folder that goes along with the main embossing folder.

Next I found a scalloped frame in my Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge and I cut one our of some light flowered paper and then I cut 12 out of some yellow card stock.  I also cut one out of some clear acetate.  All of the scallops were cut at 2 3/4".  I used the hide contour feature to cut the patterned paper and the acetate.  I then glued 11 of the yellow scallops together and glued it to the background paper.  I then adhered it to my card. All of my scallops were cut using my Cricut Explore and Design Space.

Next I added some confetti in the center of the circle.  The confetti was part of the table decorations at my retirement party and I thought it would work great to make a shaker card.  It has a garden them with butterflies, bees, flowers in bright shiny colors.  After I added the confetti to the center of the card, I used some glossy accents to adhere the acetate down covering the opening.  Finally I added the final 12th scalloped circle to cover the acetate edges so they can't be seen.  I stamped my sentiment and punched it out with a scallop punch.  I used my Spica glitter pens to add a glitter dot in each of the scallops.

It is already off in the mail to my former office.  I hope they all like the card.  Thanks for visiting.

Queen for a Day

Now that the holidays are over and I am starting to get settled into being retired, I am finding my Crafty Mojo is coming back! YEAH.  I have been having a great time learning more about my Cricut Explore.  The card I made today I used the Print and Cut feature.  I have a quick video I did for you, I apologize that it ends so abruptly, I was having issues with my editing software.

My card base is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock. I added a black mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4". Next I added a piece of patterned paper cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".  My image is cut from the Paisley cartridge at 4".  I decided I wanted to mount the cat on the card on something so I went to the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge and cut this mat and it's shadow out at 4".  The top mat is a shiny light gray color.  I mounted the mat to the card with some foam tape and then added my cat.  My sentiment is stamped in Memento Tuxedo black ink and is from the This and That CardzTV stamp set.  To finish the card I added some yellow stickles to the cat's crown, color and the trim around her pink pillow.

Christmas Kitsch Snowman Card

I just got the new Anna Griffin Christmas Kitsch cartridge, so of course I had to make a card.  This snowman caught my eye so I decided to start with him.

I cut the snowman out at 5" using my Cricut Explore machine.  The base of the snowman is cut from some olive green paper. The top  layer of course is from white. After cutting the layers I sprayed the white layer with some general purpose adhesive and covered it with some Hero Arts Prisma fine glitter. I hope you can see the sparkle on him.

For my card I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card base. I added a red mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then my patterned paper mat cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".   I rounded the two outside corners using my Corner Chomper and the 1/2" side.

I layered the red  mat and the patterned paper mat together and then wrapped some bakers twine around the card 3 times and then tied it in a knot in the center of the card.  I then added those two layers to my card base. My snowman is attached to the card with some foam tape.

My sentiment is embossed with some WOW! opaque white embossing powder. It says, Snowmen are built on flake at a time.

All in our Places - CardzTV Challenge

It  is time once again for a new 3D challenge over at CardzTV.  The challenge is to make Place Cards for your Thanksgiving dinner table.  Here is what I made.

The file is a print and cut file from the Silhouette store. I added the names to each card and had it print the names on the place cards when it print the cards out. I then let the Silhouette cut them out.  Next I stamped them each with So Thankful from the Thankful for You stamp set using Potters Clay Memento Ink.

 

 I cut the leaf from the 3D Floral Home Decor cartridge that came with my Cricut Explore. I spritzed the leaves with some orange glitter spray. Hopefully you can see it in this picture.
