Gingerbread Man Card

I picked up a new paper stack at Joann's over the weekend and this paper from the stack just called to me and said it would perfect with a little gingerbread man on it. So of course I had to listen.

My card base is Kraft card stock from Recollections and is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". The red mat is 4" X 5 1/4" and the patterned paper is 3 3/4" X 5". The gingerbread man is cut from the From My Kitchen cartridge and was cut at 3" out of same brown card stock. I also cut his eyes from white card stock and his little buttons from red card stock. I added some faux white stitching around the outside edge of the gingerbread man and the red mat using my white gel pen. I also added some red stickles to the buttons on the gingerbread man and added some red and green buttons to each corner of the card.

I think he turned out really cute. I haven't decided on a sentiment yet for this card. Thanks for visiting.

When Life Gives You Lemons

I found this stamp in the dollar section at Joanns and had to have it. Here is a card I put together to use the stamp. The lemon is from the Cricut Preserves cartridge and was cut at 2" the Glass is From My Kitchen cartridge. I cut the glass twice once out of white card stock and once from acetate. I used the real dial size button on my Gypsy to cut this as this is sized to go on a recipe card tab. I cut the glass at 3", I then resized the glass to be wider and shorter to cut the Lemonade in the glass. I took a straw and cut it down to fit the glass, glued it to the white glass, then put the "lemonade" over it then ran the acetate cut of the glass through my Xyron sticker maker and adhered it over everything. I wanted the glass to have a glass look. The ribbon is some I had on hand that I got at Michael's. I inked the edges of the lemon, card and glass items with some sunshine yellow memento ink. The card is 4 1/2" X 6". The yellow mat was cut 1/8' of an inch smaller and the white mat was cut another 1/8" of an inch smaller in height and 1" smaller in width. I ran the white mat through my cuttlebug and used the three dots folder to emboss it. I also used an EK Success border punch to give the white mat a nice scalloped border. I used foam tape to pop up the lemon and the glass.

Recipe Book

Here is the recipe book I made for my Mom for Christmas. She lost everything in a fire a couple of years ago so I thought it would be fun to make this book with some of her old recipes and some newer recipes. I cut the cover using Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The dividers were cut at 4 1/4" using the From My Kitchen cartridge, I used the tabs on the first 3 keys. I used the Center Point feature to cut out all of the recipe pages and the extra pages I included in the book. I used one of the recipe cards on the cartridge also cut at 4 1/4". I cut the tabs also from the From My Kitchen cartridge. The actual words, I printed on the same color card stock as the tabs and made a cut from Lyrical Letters at 3/4" tall and 1.1/2" wide. I then cut each one individually using the file I created.  On the cover I cut the word recipe from the From My Kitchen cartridge at 1 1/2" and also cut the oval at the same size. The apron I cut at 3" and cut all the layers. I used my Bind-It-All to bind it.  I am really pleased how this turned out.
