Two Hearts ... One Love

It is time for another Design Team Mailbox Smiles challenge over at CardzTV.  Remember all challenges are Anything Goes.  Here is what I made for this challenge.

For my card I started with white card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I used the second to the largest Stitched Oval Memory Box die to cut my oval. Using a Balzer Design, Heart and Swirls stencil and some Moonstone Nuvo glimmer paste, I added some glitter to my oval die cut and allowed it to dry.  I then die cut the bride and groom out of black card stock.

I used the My Favorite Things Oval Window Die-Namics die to cut out my sentiment which was stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white detail embossing powder.  The sentiment is from the CardzTV  Be My Valentine stamp set.

Hello Spring!

Hi there, Deanna here with another inspirational post for the CadrzTV Gallery.  Here is what I have for you today.

For my card I started with some white card stock that was cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I cut my butterflies using a Memory Box die and some aqua paper. Next I cut a solid oval from another Memory Box die set.  After I adhered the two ovals together, I applied some White Blizzard Nuvo Crystal drops to the cut out areas of the butterflies and then allowed it to dry.  I then adhered it to my card with some foam tape.  My sentiment was stamped from the new Spring Fling Cardz TV stamp set.  To finish the card I added some sequence that I attached with some mini bling glue dots.

Seasons Greetings

Hello everyone, Deanna here with a fun new project showing a new way to use your dies.  Here is what I made.

To get started in making this card you first need to pick out an intricate die.  You will also need your embossing powder, an embossing mat, your die cut machine and cutting mats along with some embossing ink.  I used Versamark ink. You will also need an anti-static tool to wipe down your area where you will be embossing so your paper doesn't end up with a lot of extra embossing powder on your paper.  (TIP: If you don't have an anti-static tool a dryer sheet will work as well). For my project I chose to use the Westchester Ornament Die.

 

Using your embossing ink, carefully ink the raised edges of your die.  You will then set up your die cut machine for embossing a die.  My set up for my big shot was my multi-tab plate, set with tab 1 up, my base embossing plate, my die on my paper cutting side up, the green (or tan) embossing mat and then my cutting plate  I ran it through my big shot.  After taking the die out of the machine and carefully lifting off the die, I sprinkled the embossed design with some silver embossing powder.

Here is what that will look like before it is heated with your heat tool.  Before heating the embossing powder preheat your heat tool.  By preheating your heat tool it will just melt the embossing powder quicker reducing the chances of warping your paper.  You can also heat your paper from the back side to help with warping.  Once the embossing powder is melted you are ready to finish your project.

Friends are Special

Hi everyone, Deanna here with another project for the Dies R Us Inspirational Blog.  Here is what I have for you today.

For the card base I started with white card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" base.  I added a blue mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4".  I then added a strip of green cut at 4" X 1 1/2" and added that to the bottom of the card.  Next I die cut the Summerville Landscape die from Memory Box out of white card stock.  I then colored the cut with some copic markers.

Next I cut the tree using Dee's Distinctively Dies and the Tree Base 1 die. Next I cut the tree greenery also from Dee's Distinctively Dies using the Tree Toppers Die. If you haven't checked out the Dee's Distinctively Dies yet, you should.  They offer a wide variety of dies.

Once I assembled my tree I added it to my card front along with the landscape die cut.  To some splashes of color to the card I used the Poppystamps die Butterfly Sprinkles to cut out several butterflies in different colors and added them randomly to the card front.

Finally, to finish the card, I added some Wink of Stella Clear pen to the flowers and the butterflies and my sentiment.

Hang in There!

Hey everyone, it's Deanna back with another inspirational post for you all using the wonderful dies from Dies R Us.  Here is what I have for you today.

My card base is light blue card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2" card base.  Next I die cut the Stitched Lattice Background Die from Memory Box out of some light yellow card stock.  I attached the background to my card base.

I then cut out the Arin Bird and the Arin Bird Background dies also from Memory Box.  After adhering the two layers of the bird together, I adhered my bird to the lattice background using some foam tape. All my die cutting is done using my Sizzix Big Shot machine.

To finish the card, I randomly added some sequence to my card. I stamped and embossed my sentiment with WOW embossing powder and attached the sentiment to the card directly with some adhesive.

Celebrate Spring-Sketch Daisy Card

I recently purchased the Sketch Daisy Memory Box Die and of course I had to use it right away.  This is what I came up with.

I started with some watercolor paper and using some pinks and yellow distress inks I created a color for the flower petals to be cut from. I used Pistachio for the leaves.

I then cut another piece of watercolor paper to about 4" X 5".  I then used placed some distress inks  on my Craft Mat and spritzed with water. I laid my watercolor paper on top of the colored inks and moved it around to create the background for my card.

I cut the outline of the daisy out of some white paper.  I adhered everything to the background with some Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.  I purposely didn't line the flowers up perfectly to create a little more interest.  I cut the finished background with the largest Oval Die from Memory Box and adhered it to a white card stock base.

My card base is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  Before adhering the oval background to my card I stamped my Sentiment Celebrate Spring using some Wilted Violet distress ink.  To finish the card, I rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper.  Thanks for visiting.

 

2 Creative Chicks Showcase #7

It is time once again for a new showcase over at 2 Creative Chicks.  Here is what I made for this month's showcase.

I started with white card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I then cut a black mat at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" and another white mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4".

For my butterflies I started with some white card stock that I distressed with some Peacock Feather, Pickled Raspberry, and Lemonade distress ink.  I then spritzed the paper with some water and allowed it to dry.  Finally using a Memory Box die, I die cut the butterfly image and adhered it to my card front.  To finish the card, I used some pink rhinestones in the upper right and lower left hand corners of the card and added some clear rhinestones to the flower centers and to the center of the single butterfly.

With Sympathy

I recently learned that a friend of mine lost her oldest son in a car accident.  Here is the card I made for her.

I started with white card stock cut and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I cut a black mat at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8". Finally I cut another white mat at 4" X 5 1/4".  I embossed that mat with the Maltese Anna Griffin embossing folder.  It is one of my favorite embossing folders.

Next I used some distress inks, abandon coral, squeezed lemonade, and peacock feathers, to create a background of my butterfly.  Using a set of Memory Box dies I cut the background of the butterfly out of the distressed paper and cut the overlay out of black.  I used my wink of stella pen in clear to go over the entire black layer before adhering it to the front of the butterfly.  I added a black ribbon and stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo black ink.  I am pleased how it turned out.

Bitten by the Luv Bug

I have a fun new Valentine's Day card for you today.  It was a lot of fun to make.

I started with a red card stock base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I cut a black mat at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" and the striped mat was cut at 4" X 5 1/4.

My image is from the Create a Critter cartridge and was cut at 3 1/2". I made him into a print and cut image.

I wanted a mat to stick him on and I just received some new dies in the mail so of course I had to use them for my mat.  The dies are the Postage Stamp Rectangle dies by Memory Box.   I cut the largest die out of black and the next smaller size out of some aqua blue patterned paper.  My paper for this card is from Doodlebug.  I attached the two mats together and attached them to my card with some foam tape,  Finally I adhered the image to the blue mat and stamped my sentiment with some Memento tuxedo black ink.

Summertime

As August march's forward toward September and Fall, I just wanted to make a card to celebrate summer. 

I started with a white card base cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base.  I added a green mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4 and then the bright yellow polka dot mat cut at 3 7/8" X 5 1/8".

Using the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge and my Cricut Explore I cut the mat for my image at 3 3/4".  I ran the white layer through the 3 dots Sizzix embossing folder.  My Violets are from a Memory Box die.  I cut the stems and leaves out of the same green as the mat.  The flowers themselves were die cut from mid purple colored card stock  I used my Wink of Stella clear been to give the flowers some shimmer and used some Cantaloupe Liquid Pearls to add the center to my flowers.  The flowers are glued directly to the mat and the mat is attached with foam tape to the card base.

Wedding Guest book

I have been super busy these past few weeks making wedding invitations for my son and his fiance's wedding August 1st.  They also asked me if I could do the guest book.  This is what I have come up with so far.  They are planning a rustic and small wedding and want to use lots of burlap for their decorations.

I started with a piece of 8" X 8" chipboard that I covered with plain burlap.  I then added a strip of printed burlap that had a lace pattern on it.  In the middle of that I added some Ivory lace and then another smaller piece of lace with an ivory ribbon running through it.

The purple flower was actually a white crocheted flower that I sprayed with some purple fabric paint.  The button was a black button with a design around the outer edge that I then used my finger and some silver alcohol ink to stain it silver.  I adhered the button to the center of the flower using glossy accents.  I also added some silk baby's breath in purple and white to the larger purple flower..  I inked a couple of Tim Holtz tickets with some vintage photo distress ink and using Glossy Accents adhered them just underneath the flower.  On the other side of the flower I added one of the message keys that says LOVE and again, lightly stained it with the Silver Ink.

The Today, tomorrow and forever was one of the items that came with my Minc. I ran it through the Minc and foiled it with silver foil. I then distressed the white tag with Vintage Photo distress ink and adhered it with Glossy Accents.  I set a metal coffee mug on it to weight it down while it dried and ended up with this marbled effect on the sign. I also ran the Mr and Mrs through the Minc. the XO's scatter across the bottom are from a Memory Box die called Hugs and Kisses.

The bottom picture is the pages for the inside of the guest book.  I am going to use my Cinch to bind it all together.
