I have one more Valentine's Day card for you today. My card base is white card stock cut and scored to make a 5" X 7" card base. I cut a red mat at 4 3/4" X 6 3/4" and the patterned paper mat at 4 1/2" X 6 1/2".  All the layers were adhered together using my ATG gun. My image was cut using my Cricut Expression and the Love Struck cartridge at 4". After adhering the two  layers together with some Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive I sprayed it with some Iridescent Glitter Dust.  I adhered it to my card front with some foam squares. My sentiment was stamped with Memento Love Letter ink (my new favorite red).  This can be ordered for you, just ask. Finally I added some red pearls to the sentiment mat. Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine's Day Card

I had some time to do some crafting this afternoon and came up with this. The cherry hearts are from the Silhouette Store #53435. I cut the image at the default setting and it worked perfectly for my 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card.

I started with some white card stock for my base. I added a black mat cut at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" and a patterned paper mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4". I then cut another black mat at 3 1/2" X 4 3/4" and then the blue polka dot mat cut at 3 3/8" X 4 5/8". I layered the first two mats together and adhered them to card base. I then layered the next to mats together and adhered them to my card base with some foam tape. All my patterned paper is from the Simply Stories Vintage Bliss 6 X 6 paper pad.

For my cherry hearts once I adhered all the layers I also add them to my card from with foam tape. My sentiment is from the Be My Valentine stamp set from CardzTV.  To finish the card, I added some rhinestone gems.

Valentine's Day Treat Bag

With Valentine's Day fast approaching I figured I better get some treat bags put together to give my family member. This is what I came up with

The little tote box came from the Silhouette Store and was cut with my Cameo. It was a quick and easy little box to put together. It cuts in one piece. I just folded along the score lines and used some Zip dry to glue the sides to the front and back. I put some Dove's chocolates in a clear bag, and added a ribbon tied in a bow.

A Valentine's Day Card

The challenge this week at Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a Valentine's Day card for a man. Here is what I came up with. I started with a premade 5" X 7" card base. I added a light blue mat also cut at 5" X 7". The paper was cut at 4 3/4" X 6 3/4" and is from a K & Company Valentine paper pack left over from last year. The car image was cut using my Imagine and the Sweethearts cartridge. I used the color pallet from the Yummy Imagine cartridge for the colors for the different layers of the car. I cut the car and the layers at 4.2"  I used my Zig two-way glue pen to adhered all the layers of the car image together and adhered it to the card with some foam tape. The sentiment is also cut from a piece of the K & Company patterned paper. I cut each letter out separately and adhered them to the card with my Zig two-way glue pen. Using my Imagine helped me put this card together quickly. Thanks for looking.

Chocolate is the Answer!

I made this little treat box for my mom this afternoon. I got my idea from a post Diane at Capadia Designs did Here. I got some Hershey's Dark Chocolate Nugget bars and covered them with some K & Company  valentine paper. Instead of a treat bag I wanted a treat box. I found this box on the Love Struck mini Cricut cartridge that was released in 2010. I don't think you can get the cartridge anywhere now. I started out putting the box on my Gypsy mat and cutting it as large as I could so I could get an idea of the size. It cut at 9.35" which made about a 7" box a little too large for what I wanted. So I cut the box at 7.25" which worked much better. I embossed the front of the box with a Sizzix Valentine embossing folder I got at Michael's.  I used Scor-tape on the side and bottom flaps to secure the box to be sure it didn't pop open after I had it filled with candy. I covered the heart cutout with a piece of acetate then filled the box with my covered nuggets. To finish off the box, I tied a bow with a raspberry covered ribbon. The tag was cut from the Sentimental Cricut cartridge at 2 3/4". I used some Raspberry ink to stamp the tag. One side just says Valentine Wishes and the other side says Chocolate is the answer no matter what the question is. I love that stamp so was happy I could use it on this project.

The box and project went together really quickly and was fun to make. I filled it with my Mom's favorite candy so I know she will like it. I have one more day off before I head back to work so hope to get another project or two done tomorrow. Thanks for visiting.

Cricut Cardz Challenge

The challenge this week over at Cricut Cardz Challenge is to make a using any theme and cartridges we wanted but to use only the colors red, white, and black. Here is what I came up with.

I decided to make Valentine's Day card. My card base is what card stock folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I added a red mat that I cut at 4 1/8" X 5 1/4". I then punched a border along the bottom of the red mat using my Martha Stewart Cherished Hearts border punch. My white mat was cut at 3 3/4" X 5 1/4" and again I used the same border punch and punched the border at the bottom of this mat. My Cricut cut is from the Love Struck mini cartridge and was cut at 3". I used black for the first layer of this image and some red metallic Recollections card stock for the top layer. I also sprayed the red top layer with some Berry Ice Smooch spray to give it even more shimmer. Behind my image I added a strip of sheer white ribbon that had some red hearts across the middle of it. I attached my heart cut with some foam tape and added a rhinestone to the top and bottom of the heart. I am really happy how this came out and love this border punch. Thanks for visiting.

Be Mine

I got this idea from a card magazine and knew I could create a similar card with my Cricut. The card base is 3 3/4" X 9" Kraft card stock and will fit a standard #10 business envelope. I added a dark pink mat cut at 3 1/2" X 8 3/4". The patterned paper mat is from the DCWV Sweet Stack and is cut at 3 1/4"  8 1/2".  The banner was cut at 1.1" on my Circut Imagine using the Yummy art cartridge. I cut the base layer for the banner but flooded them with different colors from the patterned pallet. I also cut the trim across the top of the banners and colored those in pink, green, and blue from the Yummy cartridge as well. I was really pleased at how well the Imagine cut these small images. I attached the trim to each banner piece and then used some rub ons to add the individual letters to each banner pendants. I attached the banner pendants to some hemp cord with some Beacons 3 in 1 glue. Then used more Beacons 3 in 1 glue to attach the hemp cord to the card. I added some star dust stickles to the trim on each of the banner trims to add some sparkle. I also added two buttons to the ends of the cord that I tied some cord into a knot. I apologize that the picture isn't better.

Valentine Bouquet

A couple of weeks ago I made a little thank you bouquet for a co-worker. She liked it so well that she asked me to make another one for her to give to her daughter for her birthday so I did. Then my boss asked me to make a Valentine Day themed one for him to give to his wife. Just finished that this morning. I used a container I found at Michael's on clearance for $1.39, filled it with M & M's and cut lots of daisies from Walk in My Garden and Hearts from the new Love Struck mini cartridge. I cut some of the hearts out of red shiny card stock I had on hand. I also cut one of the hearts out of white and flocked with the red Martha Stewart flocking powder. Kathy Orta from the Cricut Message Board shared the technique of using the flocking powder with the hearts. I really liked the look it gave them so was anxious to give it a try. Everything was cut at 2 1/2". I used some Valentine Themed pencils I found at the dollar store along with some Pixie Sticks for the stems. I adhered everything with the Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive. The ribbon is from Michaels and the tag was cut from the Sentimental Cartridge. I cut both the tag on white card stock and the tag shadow in red both at 2 1/2". I stamped the tag with Valentine Wishes in red and used some red embroidery floss to tie the tag to the larger ribbon.

Key to My Heart

Here is the Valentine's Day card I made for my DH. The card is 4 1/2" X 6. The black mat is X 4 1/4" X 5 3/4" and the white mat is 4" X 5 1/2" . I ran the white mat through my cuttlebug using the Victoria Embossing folder. I lightly inked all the edges in red. The key and lock are cut  from the Cricut Sentimental cartridge and are all cut at 2 1/2". I cut the lock and key in black using the shadow feature and the main layer in red and the top layer in white. I heat embossed the top layer using some silver metallic embossing powder. I love the look it gave the key and lock. The sentiment is also from the Sentimental cartridge cut at 1 1/2" and I cut the two layers. The paper is all paper I had in my stash. To add a little bling to the card without making it tor frilly for my husband I went over the sentiment with red stickles. Thanks for looking.

Paisley Valentine Card

Here is a quick card I made using the Paisley Cricut Cartridge. I laid everything out on my gypsy before cutting.  The frog and layers were all cut at 3". The card is 4 1/2" x 6". The frog paper is from K & Company and is a single sheet I picked up a my LSS and is cut at 4 1/4" X 5 3/4".  All the frog layers were cut from scraps of paper I had on hand.  I used my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut the tags from page 98 of the manual. They are .75" X 3" and I used both the tag and the shadow. The sentiment is a stamp I picked up at my local craft store. For an additional whimsical look I added some googly eyes that I bought from the Dollar Store. Thanks for looking.
