With Sympathy

My cousin's husband was killed on Monday in a senseless act of violence by a disgruntled employee. He worked for Benjamin Moore Paint in Vancouver, WA. I so feel for her. This is the card I made for her.

My card is white card stock cut and scored to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  I added a dark purple mat cut at 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" and then my patterned paper mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4". My patterned paper is from the Graphic 45 Secret Garden paper pad.

I used Elegant Edges to cut a mat at 4". The shadow was cut out of light lavendar and the shadow was cut out of dark purple. I added some Fran tage to the dark purple mat. My butterfly was cut from a new Cottage Cutz die using my eBosser.  I sprayed the die cut with some pink glitter dust.

I adhered it to my die cut to my mat with some Glossy Accents. I then adhered the mats to my card base with some foam tape. My sentiment is stamped using a stamp from the WOW! embossing powder company and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. To finish I add some rhinestones to help balance out the card.

Distress Glitter Peak

I am sure you have heard me mention before about the Clubs I join over at the Cutters Creek Yahoo Group! Well, I am in a new club and just received my first shipment of the Rangers Distress Glitter. Talk about beautiful!!!  I know you want to see them for yourself right??? Well, today I don't have a project for you, but I do have a short video letting you have a peak at the 4 colors I received from this month's shipment. Want to see?? Here goes. . .

It's Raining Happy!!!

So I won a stamp set from the Cutters Creek Virtual Valentine's Day Party and it is just so sticking cute I had to give it a try. I finally had a chance this weekend. This is a Unity Little Bitty Stamp. Isn't just so cute????

My card base is white card stock cut and scored to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I added a blue mat cut at 4" X 5 1/4" and then my patterned paper which is from Echo Park Hello Summer 6"X 6" paper pad cut at 3 3/4" X 5". I rounded the outer two corners.

I used the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge to cut a mat for my main image. The mat was cut at 3 1/2". I ran the white layer through my eBosser and embossed it with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

The umbrella image was the stamp I won along with the sentiment. I stamped the image on white card stock and colored it with some Spectrum Noir markers and cut it out and adhered it to my embossed mat. I then covered it with Glossy Accents so it had that slick glossy  look  to it.

My sentiment was stamped in Bahama Blue Memento Ink. I adhere the umbrella directly to my mat but the mat and sentiment were adhered to my card base with foam tap. Let me know what you think. I am not much of a color-er, so be gentle. Thanks

Another Birthday Card

I have another birthday card for you today. This one was made using the card feature on the Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge and was cut at 5 1/2". What I wanted to show you today on this quick video is an awesome new product I got from Cutter's Creek called Glitter Dust. It is in an aresole can and you spray it onto your image. I used the Iridescent on this card but it also comes in Pink, Gold and Silver. I should have my pink on Monday. I also used some stickles and some Opaque White WOW! Embossing powder on the inside of my card. The video is quick but it really shows of the Glitter Dust and the Embossing Powder.

Baby Wall Hanging

I started my project with an unfinished frame that I picked up at my local craft store for $1. I painted it with some Wicker White acrylic paint and then sprayed it with some Honey Dew Mist Glimmer Mist. After I sprayed on the glimmer mist I rubbed it with a paper towel like you would stain. I did this twice. It doesn’t show up well in the photo but it gave the frame a pretty light pale green color and the gold glimmer shows up in the light and makes the frame just shimmer.
For the picture I put inside the frame I used a Reddy Card image from Baby and Birth Ecstasy Craft .  These are so simple to use and look wonderful when you get done.  All of the images punch out and are numbered in the order you layer them. For my image I layered the images using the Joy Foam Pads between the layers to give that 3d effect.
I covered the chip board backing for the frame with some two toned green striped paper and mounted my  picture to the chipboard piece with my ATG gun. I used a cut from the Cricut Imagine Nursery Tails cartridge. For the flowers, I used some Flower Soft Wires that I covered with the Flower Soft Adhesive and then I sprinkled the adhesive covered wires with the Sweet Pea Flower Soft turning the wires as I sprinkled the  Flower Soft over them to ensure that all sides were coating. I used a 2” square of pink tissue paper to create a cone shape to put the flowers in, tied a narrow sheer white ribbon around the cone and glued it to the frame with the Flower Soft Adhesive. The Ecstasy Craft items are a great way to make a quick project that looks fantastic. I hope you give them a try.

Guest Designer - Cutters Creek Design Team Blog

Kim Bush owner of  the Cutters Creek online store saw the tulip card I made last weekend and asked me if I would let her post it on the Design Team Blog today and be featured as Guest Designer. Of course I said yes, I was really honored. Not only that but Kim asked me if I would consider serving on her store's Design Team, and again I said yes. Starting April 1st I am an official member of the Cutters Creek Design Team. I am super excited. I am proud to represent the Cutters Creek online store. Kim has tons of great scrapbooking, crafting products and her customer service is second to none. I hope you will visit the blog and the store. Watch for my posts there in the next few weeks.

Flower Soft Birthday Card

I needed to make a birthday card for my boss and thought this would be a good masculine card. My card base is 5 1/2" X 5 1/2" green card stock. The orange mat is 5 1/4" X 5 1/4". The patterned paper is cut at 5" X 5". The smaller green squares are cut a 2" x 2". For the leaves, I cut them from the Straight From the Nest Cricut cartridge at 1 1/2".  I used my Ultra Fine Flower Soft to cover the leaves. To get the variegated look I mixed together some of the Burnt Sienna, Toffee, Pine, and Sage. I ran two of the leaves (the upper left and lower right leaves) upside down through my Xyron and coated them with the Flower Soft, pressed down firmly on the leaves to be sure the Flower Soft was adhered and then tapped off the excess. For the other two leaves I also added a little of the Strawberry Flower Soft before applying the Flower soft.  I used some quick dry adhesive to attach the leaves to the green squares.  I added the Happy Birthday stamp with some Moss green ink. I really like the look I got with mixing the colors, the leaves look as if they are in the middle of changing colors.

Updates - and - Exciting News!

I just wanted to apologize for not getting any projects posted this weekend. I have been really sick for the last couple of weeks and just was not up to crafting this weekend. I am starting to feel better so hopefully next weekend I will be able to start creating again. I appreciate everyone's patience.

Now for my exciting news! I was asked to be guest designer this month for the Cutters Creek Design Team. Kim has asked to highlight projects using the new Flower Soft Ultra Fine and the Flower Soft Diamond Range products I purchased for her. My first card is posting tomorrow, October 18th. I don't have post dates for the other cards and I still have a couple to make. I will let everyone know when I have dates if you want to take a peak.

No Post and Glitter Paper!

Just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know I haven't forgotten you. Last weekend was crazy and I just didn't get a chanced to get anything made and posted. After another hectic week at work I am home until Monday so hope I get more done this weekend. I am very excited, I just got two new cartridges, Forever Young and Sweet Treats. So I hope to play with them this weekend. There are some great flowers on these two cartridges and I want to make my mom a bouquet for her birthday so I think I will be experimenting with that this weekend. I also volunteered to serve as a guinea pig for Kim at Cutters Creek. She is carrying the American Craft glitter paper and because she was having delays with her order on some of the colors she wanted to get samples out for some of us to provide honest feed back to the rest in the group. If  you haven't seen this paper you must. It is some of the most fantastic glitter paper I have ever seen. It is a nice thick paper and the glitter doesn't rub off.
