BYSH Cardmakers November Sketch #63 Challenge Project 2

 I'm back today with my second project for the BYSH Cardmakers November Sketch #63.  Here is a look at the sketch.

Pattern papers for my card were from an older 6" X 8.5" holiday themed paper pad from Honey Bee Stamps. I cut all my pattern papers according to the sketch. I heat embossed my sentiment with some red embossing powder onto white cardstock.  I die cut my sentiment out using the matching die. I added my sentiment to my card using some foam tape. To finish the card, I added three red gems to the upper thin strip in the lower right-hand corner.

The Creative Crafters Challenge #71 Anything Goes

 

It's time for a new challenge over at The Creative Crafters. Challenge #71 starts today. As usual the challenge is Anything Goes.

My card for this challenge is a standard A2 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I used pattern paper from the latest release for HoneyBee Stamps. 

For my mats for my image, I used an image in Cricut Design Space and my Cricut Maker 3 to cut those mats. I adhered them together with liquid adhesive then added foam tape behind it to attach it to my card front.

The ornament is also from Design Space. I cut it using multiple colors of cardstock. I used some metallic gold foil cardstock for the top layer of the ornament.

I heat embossed my sentiment on some red cardstock with gold embossing powder. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp and cut with the coordinating die. To finish my card, I added some tiny gold pearls to the center of the snowflakes on the ornament and scattered some bigger gold pearls to the upper left and lower right around the sentiment.

Let's Craft and Create Challenge #191 Anything Goes Option Use Black and White

 

Wow! Hard to believe 2023 has arrived, but it has. That means it's time for a new challenge over at Let's Craft and Create. Challenge #191 is of course Anything Goes with the Option to use Black and White.

For my card I started with some heavyweight white cardstock that was cut scored and folded to make an A2 card base. I then used a stitched edge die from My Favorite Things to cut the edge of my card front.  I then added a piece of black and white pattern paper also from MFT to replace the piece I cut off.

I then find a two layered rose in Cricut Design Space that I cut at about 3". The back layer was cut from black cardstock. the top layer was cut from white cardstock. I added the white pieces to the black background with liquid adhesive. I then adhered the rose to my card front with foam tape. I stamped my sentiment with some Versafine Clair Nocturne ink before adding my rose.

To finish my card I added some black jewels from Honeybee Stamps.

Let's Craft and Create Challenge #184 AG Option Penny for Your Thoughts

 

Unbelievable, but it's June already and there is a new challenge up at Let's Craft and Create. Challenge #184 is as always AG with the option Penny for Your Thoughts, use a sentiment. This is my design team project for the challenge.

For my card I started with some heavyweight white cardstock cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base. I then cut the Lawn Fawn Spring Flowers backdrop die from some green cardstock.

I then cut the flower layers from pink, light yellow, turquoise blue, and purple cardstock. I cut the flower centers out of a darker golden yellow. I assembled the layers on the frame with liquid adhesive.

My hello sentiment is from a Kat Scrappiness mini slimline scalloped die set. The stamped sentiment is from a Sizzix sentiment set. To finish my card, I added some yellow sequins from Honeybee Stamps.

BYSHC Sketch #23

Hard to believe that it's June 1st already. It's time for a new sketch challenge over at BYSH Cardmakers based on Card Sketch #23. 

For my inspiration project I used a nutcracker from Cricut Design space and flattened it to make it a print and cut image. I sized the image to 4" tall.

My card base is some heavyweight cardstock that I cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card. I followed the measurements from the sketch for my patterned paper mat. I used a die from Poppy Stamps to cut my banners. On this card I opted to only use banners at the top. I white heat embossed my sentiment on some navy cardstock. I popped up my image and sentiment using some foam tap. All my pattern papers are from an older Echo Park Winter 6" X 6" paper pad.

Happy Birthday Card

 

Today I have another birthday card for you. I have 7 birthdays between April 1st and the end of May so I have a lot of cards to make.

This card started with white heavy weight card stock that  was cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"  card base. 

For my background layers on my card I used the Honey Bee stamps Quatrefoil Coverplate Pierced Base plate and the top die.  I used some pale aqua card stock from my stash for the base layer and some white card stock for the top layer. I then used some liquid adhesive to glue the layers together.

My image is from the Honey Bee Stamps Easter Lily die set. I cut the flower layers from some white card stock. I wanted my lily to look like a Star Gazer lily so I used some Picked Raspberry distress ink and a blending brush to add color to my white card stock. I used some Fossilized Amber on the base layer of the stamens and some Wild Honey on the top layer.  I did the ink blending on my Mini Waffle Flower Media mat. After I finished the ink blending I spritzed some water onto my media mat where the ink was and dipped the flower and stamen layers into it. I set those aside to dry.

While I waited for my flower layers to dry I cut the frond leaves from some green card stock. I did add some Mowed Lawn distress ink to the leaves but it matched the card stock so well that you really can't tell. I would suggest using a metal adapter plate when cutting these leaves out. Mine did not cut through all the way in places so I had to use an Exacto knife and some small scissors to free them.

Once my flower layers were dry I added my dots to the petals using my glitter pen in pink.  It adds a nice bit of sparkle to the petals.

Finally I put my flower layers together with some foam tape for dimension. I then added everything to my card base using liquid glue. I added some Cantaloupe Liquid Pearls to the tops of the stamens.

For my sentiment I used the Honey Bee stamps Birthday Buzz Cuts die set to cut the word birthday. I used the top die and the small shadow die. I cut the shadow layer from vellum. I first cut the top layer out of the same aqua card stock that I used for my card base. Once I adhered it to the card I decided it was to light and blended into the background too much. So I took a scrap piece of white card stock and blended on some more of the Picked Raspberry distress ink using a blender brush. I then die cut the word birthday out of that and adhered it over the aqua card stock. I then took a scrap of the ink blended card stock and took the word happiest from the Honey Bee stamps birthday stamp set and heat embossed that with some white embossing powder. I adhered the word birthday flat to my card with liquid adhesive and then popped up my happiest with a bit of foam tape.

Antique Rose Birthday Card

 

Today I have a birthday card for you. I started with heavy weight white card stock that I cut, scored and folded to make a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card base. I used some Honey Bee Stamps Deckle Edge dies to cut my mats. The patterned paper is also from the Honey Bee Stamps Playful Pastels 6" X 6" paper pad.

My rose is from the Altenew Craft a Flower Antique Rose die set. I started with black card stock for the base layer and then used 3 different shades of pink card stock for the remaining layers. I attached the rose to the light green mat with liquid adhesive, then popped up that layer with foam tape before attaching it to the darker green mat.

I embossed my sentiment on to black card stock using some cream embossing powder by Simon Says Stamp.

To finish my card I added some crystal gemstones by Nuvo.
