Everyday Pop Up Card

I had a chance to try out my new Everyday Pop Up Card Cricut Cartridge this morning. Got to love some days off of work! Any how, this cartridge was a bit of a challenge for me and I don’t think I have it quite figured out yet. With 6 birthdays over the next several weeks in my family I opted to try one of the birthday cards on the cartridge.  Here is the first card I made with the cartridge. I opted to use the pop up phrase inside and put a cricut cut on the outside of the card.

All of the cuts I used are from page 61 of the handbook. I used colors and patterns from the Yummy Imagine cartridge and cut everything on my Imagine. I cut the card base at 5 1/2”. I cut the cupcake and it’s layers at  4”. I think my cupcake is a little too big but didn’t have time to redo it. I ran the layer for the wrapper through the cuttlebug and I believe that is the herringbone pattern embossing folder. I also ran the chocolate frosting layer through the cuttlebug and embossed it with the swirls embossing folder. I adhered everything together and and added some Firefly, Fruit Punch, and Tropical Tangerine stickles to the sprinkles.  To finish off the cupcake I wrapped some dotted ribbon from my stash around the cupcake and added a flower.

For the popup inside, I wasn’t sure what size to cut it but also cut it at 4”. I flooded it with a blue pattern from the Yummy cartridge. There were no real score marks on the tabs that cut attached to the words so it was a little bit of a guess as to where to fold them. The bottom of this cut is fairly lacey and didn’t fold real well. I used Scor-Tape on the tabs to adhere it to the card.

Overall I am pleased with how it turned out. I will be playing with this more and would like to try out the image pop up next time.  I do think there were easier images to try as the first time but you know me, never can seem to do anything that is too easy.

Elegant Edges Birthday Card

I received my Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge this week and had a chance to try it out today. I made this birthday card for my sister whose birthday is Saturday.

I started with a 5 1/2” square card base made from white card stock. I rounded the corners of the card base. I used the image from page 34 of the hand book, Dots1. I cut the shadow from some pink card stock in my stash. I then flooded the top layer with a pattern from the Yummy Cricut Imagine cartridge and the second layer with a dark turquoise blue from the Yummy color palette. I cut all these images at 5”. My cake and sentiment are also from the Yummy Imagine cartridge. I used the layers feature to cut the cake and candles at 3”.  I cut the Make a Wish also using the layers feature at 1”. I sprayed the chocolate part of the cake with some coffee shop glimmer mist and the frosting layers with some old lace and pearl glimmer mist sprays. I also sprayed the background on the Make a wish with the coffee shop glimmer mist. Once the glimmer mist dried and glued all the layers together. I pop dotted the mat I cut from Elegant Edges to my white card base. I also pop dotted the cake and sentiment to the card for added dimension. I am not having to mail this card so am not worried about the added height on the card.  I added some yellow and orange stickles to the candles so they sparkled.

This cartridge has so many great cuts on it. I am sure I will be using it often. Thanks for visiting.

Sweet 16 Birthday Card

My daughter turns 16 today and this is the card I made for her.  I decided I wanted to do something a little different for her card. I started with a piece of 4” X 12” hot pink card stock that I scored and folded at 4” and 8”. I used some aqua card stock to cut mats for each section of may card at 3 7/8” X 3 7/8”. I then used the stock square image on my Imagine and cut 5 squares at 4” that were flooded with different patterns from the Yummy cartridge and cut them down to 3 3/4” X 3 3/4”.  For the front I used a cupcake pattern from my Yummy cartridge. I also used a stock scalloped circle image included with the Imagine and flooded it with a light small polka dot pattern and print and cut it at 3 1/2”. I ran the scallop circle through the cuttlebug and embossed it with my swiss dots folder. I then sprayed the circle with some of my Honey Dew Glimmer Mist. I cut the cupcake using the layers feature at 3” and attached it to the scalloped circle with an Action Wobble.

For the inside I used the Happy Birthday patterned paper for each of the three panels. For the left hand panel I used one of the presents on the Yummy cartridge cut at 3”. I also used my new stickles. I used the Glam Pink to bling up the flourish on the package and some Lime Green that I had to bling up the dots on the ribbon. For the right hand panel I used the word Sweet cut at 1 1/2” from the Yummy cartridge and then used my Nursery Rhyme Cartridge to cut the 16  at 1 1/2”. I flooded the shadow of  numbers with a dark turquoise blue and the main layer with a pink from the Yummy cartridge. I used some Yellow stickles to bling up the S in sweet and the new Tropical Turquoise for the weet. I used the Glam Pink for the 16.

The image on the back of the Sweet 16 panel is of a  Party hat also from the Yummy Cartridge. I again used the Scallop stock image that I flooded with one of the pattern’s from the cartridge and cut it at 3 1/2”. I cut the party hat at 3”. I also used some Glam Pink stickles to bling up the pompom balls and the top of the party hat.  I really hope she likes the card.

You Are a Treat!

Here is a I made today with my Imagine. I saw this stamp yesterday at my LSS and this card immediately came to mind. I cut the heart shaped lollipop using the Cricut Imagine Yummy cartridge at 3 1/2" using the layers feature. To give the heart some shine and dimension I covered it completely with Glossy Accents and let it dry overnight. My card base is white card stock folded to 4 1/4" X 5 1/2". I then printed out 3 5 1/4" rectangles and flooded them with solid colors, pink, blue, and gold, from the Yummy cartridge to pick up the colors from the lollipop. I used my treading waters Fiskars border punch to punch each of the colored card stock pieces. I cut the gold piece down to 2" and adhered it behind the blue colored card stock. I then trimmed off about 1" from the pink piece and attached it to the blue card stock. I adhered these all to the front to my card stock base. I attached the lollipop with pop dots and cut a 2" scallop again using my Imagine and flooding it with the blue color. I also cut a 1.7" white circle and stamped my sentiment on it and attached it to my scallop circle. I attached the sentiment with pop dots to the front of the card and finished off the card with some faux stitching and dots using my white gel pen. Thanks for visiting.

Happy Birthday Cupcake

Here is another quick card I made using my Cricut Imagine and the Yummy cartridge that came with my machine. I think this is one of my favorite Imagine cartridges so far. I started with a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" white card stock card base. I printed out a 5 1/2" square of the dark blue and cut my mat at 4" X 5 1/4". I then flooded a a 5" square with the Happy Birthday patterned paper and cut it at 3 3/4" X 5". I really love this pattern on the cartridge. The cupcake was cut at 3 1/2" using the layer feature. I pop dotted the cupcake top to the cupcake and the also pop dotted the whole cupcake to the card front. I added some small bright pink buttons underneath the cupcake to add a little more color and dimension to the card. I also added some stickles in a variety of colors to the sprinkles on the cupcake icing. Thanks for visiting.

Be Mine

I got this idea from a card magazine and knew I could create a similar card with my Cricut. The card base is 3 3/4" X 9" Kraft card stock and will fit a standard #10 business envelope. I added a dark pink mat cut at 3 1/2" X 8 3/4". The patterned paper mat is from the DCWV Sweet Stack and is cut at 3 1/4"  8 1/2".  The banner was cut at 1.1" on my Circut Imagine using the Yummy art cartridge. I cut the base layer for the banner but flooded them with different colors from the patterned pallet. I also cut the trim across the top of the banners and colored those in pink, green, and blue from the Yummy cartridge as well. I was really pleased at how well the Imagine cut these small images. I attached the trim to each banner piece and then used some rub ons to add the individual letters to each banner pendants. I attached the banner pendants to some hemp cord with some Beacons 3 in 1 glue. Then used more Beacons 3 in 1 glue to attach the hemp cord to the card. I added some star dust stickles to the trim on each of the banner trims to add some sparkle. I also added two buttons to the ends of the cord that I tied some cord into a knot.
