Happy Father's Day!!!!

Since today is Father's Day I thought I would share what I made for my husband. As some of you may know, on April 30th we became first time grandparents to our wonderful grandson Aiden Lee. This gift is in honor of the new grandpa.

I got this magnetic chalkboard at a local craft store. I used some Stormy Sky Distress Stain to stain the wooden frame. I applied two coats. I used the edge of a makeup sponge to do the inside edge of the frame.

I cute the phrase using some 651 white vinyl and adhered it to the chalkboard. I then cut 3 hearts out of red vinyl and adhered those.

The magnet was made using a clear glass decorative gem. I used a 1 1/4" punch and punched an image out of some baby paper and adhered it to the flat side of the gem with some glossy accents. I allowed that to dry for about an hour. Then I used glossy accents to attach a strong disc magnet to the paper.

The picture is one I took the first time Grandpa feed Aiden. I just cropped it so it would fit in the space, rounded the corners and used the magnet to adhere the picture to the board. This will allow him to change the pictures and Aiden grows. I bought a little black easel to display the finished board. My husband is going to take this to work and put it on his desk.

I am really happy how it turned out and my husband loves it. I think the phrase could be changed and used to make something similar for Mom, Dad, Grandma, a new graduation, and the possibilities go on and on.
