3D Birthday Challenge

It is time once again for a new 3D Challenge over at CardzTV.  The challenge this time is to make a 3D birthday card or project.  This is what I came up with.

I saw this great tutorial to make a pleated skirt fold card on Splitcoaststampers.  You start with a piece of double sided patterned paper cut at 7 3/4" in length by 3" wide.  You then make a mark at 1 1/4" on the narrow 3" side and another mark at 3" on the 7 3/4" side.  You cut between the two marks to give you an angled edge.  Next you score your card on the lengthwise side at 3" and 3 1/2" and 5" and 6 1/8".  Then do a mountain valley fold to create your pleats. (I would recommend checking out the video tutorial).

Once you have your pleats you can attach the "skirt" to your A2 card base.  Next I added a strip of paper cut from the same paper as the skirt to the top of the skirt. I cut this piece at 1/2" X 4 1/4".  To decorate the front I made a rosette and added it to the card along with a flourish I die cut and added some rhinestones to.  Finally I stamped happy birthday from the Bigger Everyday Sayings stamp set, to the card front.

Thanks for stopping by.. Now it is your turn to show us your 3D birthday projects.
